RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

 Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charge of Trainer Magansingh P Jodha viz. RAIN DANCE in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Magansingh P Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S Waheed to saddle his charges viz. RED BUG & KIND DEED (5th race), BULLRUN (6th race) BUBBLY BELLINI (7th race) and MELINDA & MOVE IN TIME (8th race), at his (Trainer C.D.Ktarak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(260) - THE  MEMORIES OF YOU PLATE: (About)1200 Metres.  Runners – 9

 

DIA (App.Santosh G) was reluctantant to be stalled and on start the filly jumped out awkwardly resulting in the Jockey losing his right stirrup which he could regain after travelling considerable distance. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner previously, Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race.

 

CHLOBUD (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not parading her charge DIA before proceeding to the starting gate.

 

At the start, IN MY LIFE (S.Mosin, dr.3) was tightened between FLYING TRIGGER (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) and CHOLBUD (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4).

 

At the start, DAZZLING DANCER (Kishore Kadam) suddenly ducked out.

 

Jockey S.P.Ranjane (ROCKING) has been fined Rs 3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. He has been further fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of his whip wherein he has used whip with excessive force.

 

After the race, FLYING TRIGGER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(261) – THE EXHILARATION DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 4  - NO REPORT

 

RACE NO.3(262) – THE P. R. MEHTA TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres. Runners – 4

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A Sait, HOLY BULL was examined at 0815 hours on 14/03/2015 and was found to have painful swelling above the right fore fetlock. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer has to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s VO before next accepting with him to race.

 

RACE NO.4(263) – THE FORBES BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3):

                                                                                                                                 (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 6

 

Near 700 metres, GOLDEN BELLE (Darren Williams) was inconvenienced as ETERNAL FLAME (A.Sandesh) shifted ground inwards. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

AGELESS (App.Yash Narredu) hung-out in the straight and finished race along the outer rails.Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

SACRED FIRE (C.S.Jodha) lugged-out in the straight and ETERNAL FLAME (A.Sandesh) lugged-out in the final 200 metres. Trainers Altamaash A.Ahmed and S.Ganapathy have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race them.

 

After the race, AGELESS was found to be sound.

 

GOLDEN BELLE (Darren Williams) was placed fifth and MOUNT RUSHMORE (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.5(264) – THE J.RUSTOMJI SOPARIVALA TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 11

 

Near 700 metres, PURPLE ROSE (Vikram Jodha) shifted in and took the running of JUPITER (I.Pasha) who was checked. Jockey Vikram Jodha has been reprimanded.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (KIND DEED) was observed to have looked back and not ridden out vigorously in the final stages of the race thereby not giving his mount the best chance, which may have cost him the race. The matter was reported to the Stewards for unsatisfactory riding..

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey Amyn Merchant and having heard him and having viewed the recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and suspended his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 4th April, 2015 to 12th April, 2015 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, PHOENIX KNIGHT was found to be sound,

 

RACE NO.6(265)-THE  SHAPOORJI PALLONJI BREEDERS’ JUVENILE COLTS’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3):

                                                                                                                                       (About) 1600 Mts. Runners– 4

On arrival at the start, DESERT GOD (David Allan) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore from the right fore leg. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. DESERT GOD has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, BULLRUN (Neeraj Rawal) was tightened as JEFFERSON (P.Trevor) shifted ground inwards and at the same time MOGADISHU (Keanen G.Steyn) shifted outwards.

 

OXFORD OPINION (A. Sandesh) hung-out throughout the race in spite of the Jockey’s effort and while negotiating the bend drifted further out and finished the race along the outer rails. Trainer S. Ganapathy has been asked to show the colt in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.

 

MOGADISHU (Keanen G. Steyn) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, OXFORD OPINION was found to be sound, but having a wolf tooth on the right side. Trainer S.Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

RACE NO.7(266) - THE J.RUSTOMJI SOPARIVALA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres.  Runners -11

 

TOUGH ENOUGH (J.E.Pereira) was reluctant to be stalled and ROCK IN RHYTHM (J.Chinoy) was fractcious in the stall. Trainers Sangramsinh N.Joshi and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Bezan Chenoy (PHOENIX FIRE) has been fined Rs.5,000/- for declaring a foreign jockey in a race which was restricted for Indian jockeys only.

 

At the start, HORSE POWER (App.Yash Narredu, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly and went on to WESTERN LIGHTS (Kishore Kadam, dr.5) who was then placed behind SAKER (A.Ashhad Asbar) and steadied.

 

At the start, EAGLE SPIRIT (CS Jodha) jumped out awkwardly and was steadied due to lack of room.

 

PHOENIX FIRE (I.Pasha) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

TOUGH ENOUGH (J.E. Pereira) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

EAGLE SPIRIT (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight and near 100 meters went on to HORSE POWER (App.Yash Narredu) who was steadied for a few strides. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, HORSE POWER was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern. SAKER had a broken lower incisor tooth and a gum injury. PHOENIX FIRE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(267) - THE RACING WORLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres.  Runners -16

 

STAYING ALIVE (V.Chandrakant) jumped out awkwardly losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Near 900 metres, MELINDA (A.Sandesh) was tightened while racing on the inside of DIVINE WISH (App.R.Ajinkya) and lost position.

 

Jockey S.Mosin (FEAST OF LOVE) reported the loss of whip near 400 metres.

 

As reported by the trainer, BULLION EXPRESS (Sandeep Jadhav) bled from the nostrils after the race while on the way back to the stables. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.

 

After the race, MELINDA, ASCOT STAR and ROCK THE TURF were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th & 8th race, viz. LA FEMME FLEUR, SNOWING, ETERNAL FLAME, MOGADISHU and APACHE, as also that of AGELESS & SACRED FIRE (4th race), and JEFFERSON & BULLRUN (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM TRAINER M.NARREDU AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS I.E. 1) FINE OF RS.10,000/-  (AS PER THE NORMS FOR UNSATISFACTORY RUNNING) AND TO REFER THE MATTER TO THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB FOR FURTHER ACTION AS DEEMED FIT FOR UNSATISFACTORY RUNNING OF HIS CHARGE “BE SAFE” IN RACE NO.241 – THE OMKAR INDIAN TURF INVITATION CUP (GR.1) RUN ON SATURDAY, 07TH MARCH, 2015 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th March, 2015 considered the recommendation from the Stipendiary Stewards and felt that no further action was necessary against Trainer M.Narredu as they felt it was not unsatisfactory running of his charge.

 

The Stewards thereafter considered appeal dated 15th March, 2015 from Trainer M.Narredu in the above connection. Having heard the submissions made by Trainer M.Narredu/ his Spokesman as also the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the recording of Race No.232 as also the previous races of BE SAFE during the current Mumbai Meeting, the Stewards decided to allow the appeal.

RE : APPEAL FROM JOCKEY SURAJ NARREDU AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS I.E. 1) TO SUSPEND HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 26TH MARCH, 2015 TO 5TH APRIL, 2015 (MAXIMUM PUNISHMENT PERMISSABLE WITHIN THEIR POWER) AND 2) TO REFER THE MATTER TO THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB FOR FURTHER ACTION AS DEEMED FIT FOR UNSATISFACTORY RIDING OF HIS MOUNT “BE SAFE” IN RACE NO.241 – THE OMKAR INDIAN TURF INVITATION CUP (GR.1) RUN ON SATURDAY, 07TH MARCH, 2015 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th March, 2015 considered the recommendation from the Stipendiary Stewards and felt that no further action was necessary against Jockey Suraj Narredu as they felt it was not unsatisfactory riding of his mount.

 

The Stewards thereafter considered appeal dated 15th March, 2015 from Jockey Suraj Narredu in the above connection. Having heard the submissions made by Jockey Suraj Narredu/ his Spokesman as also the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the recording of Race No.232 as also the previous races of BE SAFE during the current Mumbai Meeting, the Stewards decided to partially allow the appeal, .in that, the Stewards decided to remove the suspension imposed on Jockey Suraj Narredu by the Stipendiary Stewards for unsatisfactory riding on BE SAFE, however, they decided to caution him with regard to his ride on BE SAFE.

RE : CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS REPORT IN RESPECT OF  ch g “MOHEGUN SUN” (UNPLACED) IN RACE NO.30 – THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON SUNDAY, 30TH NOVEMBER, 2014 :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th March, 2015 interviewed Tr.M.K.Jadhav regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 11th March, 2015 from LCH, France, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge MOHEGUN SUN (Unplaced) in Race No.30 – The Municipal Commissioner’s Trophy (Div.II) run on Sunday, 30th November, 2014, which read as under :-

 

“…..It is hereby confirmed that the sample, which has been analysed as set out above, contains O-DESMETHYLVENLAFAXINE”.

 

A copy of the above report was handed over to Trainer M.K.Jadhav and he was asked to continue his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when required.

 

Further, as per the Medication Rules,  the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify MOHEGUN SUN (Unplaced) in Race No.30– The Municipal Commissioner’s Trophy (Div.II) run on Sunday, 30th November, 2014.

A copy of the above report was handed over to Trainer M.K.Jadhav he was asked to continue his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when required.
