From the Horses Mouth - Race form Analysis Guide for Saturday, 29th September 2018

- By Cyrus Naterwalla

Race No. 1 :- The Sentosa Cove Plate – Class V – Distance :- 2400M

SPONTANEOUS EDDIE :- 7 year old gelding from the yard of Imtiaz Sait, he has had 27 runs in his career and has managed to win on 2 previous occasions, the last win coming not that long ago when he scored over a mile in April, getting up late to beat Wizard of Odds and Sweeping Move. He has had 2 runs this season over inadequate trips to get him fit and is now eased in Grade back into Class V and is stepped up to a trip which is much more suitable. He appears to still have zest for racing, jockey Akshay who has been booked to ride has been in good form this season, booting home 3 winners already and in this weak field, he looks one to consider and is likely to be involved in the finish.

SYLVESTER :- 4 year old gelding trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, he is one of two untried and relatively unexposed runners in this field, having run 6 times before without much success but looked like he was coming into form last time out when making up good ground from the rear to finish 2nd to Gnostic Eyes over 1800M. That run suggested that he was looking for more galloping ground and that was by far his best run so far so it makes sense to try him over this longer trip and he looks open to further improvement. His half sister Bounty Queen never raced beyond 9 furlongs and did most of her winning over 1400M but he looks to be more of a staying sort. Jockey Kavraj Singh takes over in the saddle for S.A. Amit today and if he is able to build on that last effort and stays this longer trip then he looks to have an excellent chance to succeed in this company.

POETRYINMOTION :- 2nd runner from the Imtiaz Sait yard and she too is an unexposed 4 year old who has run 8 times so far without any noteworthy performances but has also come down in the scales as a result. She has had one earlier run this season over 1800M where she was unplaced but she looks likely to be suited by this longer trip and in form apprentice K. Nazil has been booked to ride. There is not much to recommend her chances other than the fact that she may not have come to hand as yet and has a good jockey booked to ride today. If finding some improvement over this longer trip, then she could be a factor and in this weak field is worth considering each way.

SILVER MOON :- 6 year old mare trained by Karthik G who has been sparingly raced for her age but is yet to taste success in her 12 starts till date. She has shown form over 2000M in the past, all her 4 previous placed efforts coming over that trip so she looks to enjoy distance and is stepped up to this trip for the first time today. She has run twice this season so should be fit and did finish a faraway 3rd to Aloha over 2000M on her reappearance, just half a length of Dazzle N Daze who was receiving 3 ½ kilos so she looks likely to confirm form with that rival. She has to bounce back from an indifferent effort over 1800M last time out when she finished well behind Sylvester but ahead of Devoted but she is another who looks to have an each way chance if taking to the longer trip. Bhawani Singh rides again.

CONCLUSION :- A weak race to begin proceedings and the 4 year old Sylvester looks to have found a good opportunity to gain a maiden success if staying the extra distance as he is taking on out of form and exposed handicappers. Silver Moon and Spontaneous Eddie could trouble him if running up to their best form.

Race No. 2 :- The Star Fortune Plate – Class III & IV, 5 Years Old & Over – Distance :- 1000M

PRICELESSGIRL :- Speedy 6 year old mare trained by C. Rajendra who is a winner of 4 of her 16 starts and is likely to relish the short Pune straight. She was in cracking form during the recent Mumbai season winning 3 races over 1000M and scoring on every alternate run, progressing right up from Class IV to her current mark at the top of Class III. She has had a lung opener this season to get her warmed up and has been showing good speed in her recent work. Vishal Bunde claims a useful 3 ½ kilos in the saddle and in her own age group, she looks to have a good chance to continue her progression and looks a serious contender.

CHARGING TIGRESS :- Versatile 6 year old mare trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, she is a 30 race veteran who has done well in her career, winning 3 races and placing on 12 occasions and is effective between 1000 and 1400M. We have to go back a long way to her last win which came in December 2016 over 7 furlongs and she has been racing mainly over 6 and 7 furlongs since then although she has done well the few times that she has attempted this trip and is handicapped to reverse form with Priceless Girl as she ran 3rd behind her in Mumbai. Both her runs this term have come over 1200M and she did finish a close 3rd to Domination and Masterofbalantrae on reappearance so she seems to be in form. D.S. Daman takes the ride and she looks a strong each way prospect.

LOCARNO :- Another speedster in her prime but now aged 7, she is trained by Mansoor Shah and also has a good handicap record, winning 3 of her 34 starts and placing on 8 occasions. She did manage a win over this trip in February in a similar contest in the lower class beating El Tycoon by 1 ¼ lengths. Both her runs this season have been with 5 kilo claimer M. Ayyar in the saddle so the switch to P. Trevor is a big positive and she has bagged the No. 1 rail draw which is an advantage. She did finish behind Speedo and Glorious Land last time out but has looked in decent form this season and is another who must be considered in what looks an extremely open affair.

GLORIOUS LAND :- 5 year old mare earlier known as Motherland and trained by Dallas Todywalla with whom she won 3 races before being moved midway through her career to Adil Dajee’s yard. Overall a winner of 3 races from 19 starts, she has run some good races in defeat for her new yard but is still searching for another success. She has been in decent form this term and has already had 3 runs so fitness will not be an issue, running a good close 2nd to Fine Tune on her penultimate run and running a forward race last time out before being overwhelmed close home and ending up 4th. The booking of in form Neeraj Rawal is encouraging taking over from C. Umesh and she is another who looks likely to give it a good go.

ALPINE EXPRESS :- Speedy 5 year old mare trained by Vinesh who has been woefully out of form for quite a while now but is effective over this trip and is starting to look very well handicapped. She has managed to win 3 of her 23 starts but her last win came in March 2017 so it has been a while since she has shown any form. She has had 2 runs already this season so should be fit enough and her last win came off a mark of 42 and she is now rated 36 so she looks very well placed on that score. Good apprentice Raghuveer Singh has been booked to ride today and if returning to her best form, she could prove to be a force to reckon with although she does need to show that she retains her ability.

SPEEDO :- 6 year old gelding who is the 2nd runner from the Adhirajsingh Jodha stable and showed that he was coming to hand last time out with an inexperienced apprentice on board. With only 2 wins from his 35 starts but 11 placed efforts, he looks to have a decent handicap record and looked like he was getting up to score last time out before being shocked by the late finishing Ustad Pedro, finishing ahead of Glorious Land and Locarno that day. The switch to S.A. Amit is a positive, he looks to be well within himself at present and is another who could score from the foot of the weights.

CONCLUSION :- Very open looking contest with several having chances but there should be good value for any of the runners selected and it may be prudent to take a chance on the speedy Priceless Girl who is likely to make all the running and was in cracking form in Mumbai. Speedo looks well handicapped and could prove to be a threat and Locarno with Trevor up also commands respect.

Race No. 3 :-The Personified Plate – Div. I – Class IV & V, 5 Years & Over – Distance :- 1200M

CEZANNE :- 7 year old gelding trained by young A.M. Jadhav, he is a veteran of 32 races and appears to becoming back to form, with 3 previous victories to his name. He has done most of his winning early on in his career and appeared to suffer some sort of setback and has been working his way slowly back into form since moving to his young trainer from M.K. Jadhav. He has come down considerably in the weights and his last couple of runs have suggested that he is getting ready to strike. He caught the eye on his seasonal reappearance over this trip when finishing on from the rear to be a late finishing 4th to WabiSabi and last time out dropped to 1000M, again made late headway to be a good close 2nd to Smart Choice with D.S. Daman in the saddle. He looks to be in good shape at present and with K. Nazil booked to ride, should prove to be a threat to all in spite of being top weight.

FURIOUS N FAST :- 5 year old mare who is trained by Nirad Karanjawala, she has had 14 runs so far with 2 previous wins to her credit, her maiden win coming on debut over this trip and her 2nd win over 1400M on this track on the opening day of last season. She has not done much since that win but did finish a good 2nd to Double Nine over 1000M early in the Mumbai season and her reappearance run looked promising where she made up good ground from the rear over course and distance to finish just outside the frame in a much stronger contest and is now eased into the lower grade. That run came after a long break so she should be much fitter today and the booking of A. Sandesh catches the eye. She has been working well since the run and if she can build on that last effort, then she looks to have a very good chance of earning another bracket and must be seriously considered in this field.

ADAM’S BEGINNING :- 5 year old mare who is now trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, she is another seasoned handicapper who has been in sparkling form this season and comes into this race fresh off a fluent win in lesser company. Overall a winner of 2 of her 23 starts with 7 placed efforts as well, she has run well all 3 starts this season, finishing a good 3rd on both her first two runs over 1000M and then scored with authority over 1200M with D.S. Daman up, beating Smart Choice with a strong late run down the outside. She has only been penalized 4 kilos for the win and seems to be at the top of her game at present. Kavraj Singh takes over in the saddle today, she looks to be in top form at present and should make a bold bid to repeat and looks a strong contender.

KINGSTON HEATH :- 5 year old gelding trained by Bezan Chenoy who has looked fit and well in his 2 runs this term and looks to be well placed on the scales vis-à-vis a couple of these. Lightly raced for his age, having had only 12 starts so far, he is a winner of 1 race over 1000M earlier in his career but was off the track for over a year before reappearing in December in Mumbai and he has slowly been trying to work his way into form since then. He has performed reasonably on both his runs this season, since getting a lung opener over 1000M, finishing on late to be 3rd to Iron Age and then last time out, again over 1000M running on to be 4th to Smart Choice and he is handicapped to gain revenge on Cezanne who was 2nd that day. He looks worth trying over 1200M after having raced only over 1000 for much of his career and if he can find a little improvement over this additional furlong then he looks well placed to return to the winner’s circle with Raghuveer Singh taking over today from A. Imran Khan.

RIDGEWOOD STAR :- 5 year old gelding from the Dallas Todywalla yard who has managed only a solitary success from his 22 starts till date and appears to be quite an exposed sort at present. His lone win did come over this trip but it was way back in March 2017 and he has not done much since then to suggest that he will be winning soon. His only decent effort recently also came during the last Mumbai season over 1200M when he finished runner up to Alyaties and his subsequent efforts did not yield much so he does not look a reliable sort. The only encouraging thing in his favour is that he has been working extremely well of late although he is likely to need the run after a 5 month absence. Apprentice rider Vishal Bunde has been booked to ride and if fit and well he could be an interesting outsider.

MIGHTY WARRIOR :- Very interesting got abroad 4 year old from the stables of Karthik G he caught the eye on his racing debut back in February when finishing on strongly from the middle of the pack to be runner up to Walk On By and he looked sure to improve for the effort. However, he did not race for the remainder of the season but started a warm favourite when appearing early on in the Pune season but ran well below par with A. Imran Khan up, finishing only 7th to Sporto. He has been rested and given time to improve since then and is open to plenty of improvement on just his 3rd career start. He has had a couple of decent workouts of late and could very likely be a dark horse who could upset against these exposed handicappers with A. Imran Khan taking the ride on him again. Interesting.

CONCLUSION :-  Again an open and competitive handicap and the ones to focus on appear to be the well handicapped Kingston Heath and the demoted Furious N Fast who has been working well and has A. Sandesh in the saddle. The lightly raced Mighty Warrior also looks interesting and could be a value outsider

Race No. 4 :- The Radiant Plate – Class IV & V, 4 Years & Over – Distance :- 1400M

RELENTLESS PURSUIT :- Experienced 6 year old handicapper trained by Imtiaz Sait, he is a winner of 2 of his 20 starts and is mainly campaigned in older horses contests over this trip nowadays. His most recent victory did come in a similar contest back in March where he was well fancied and held off the late finishing Dibaba over 1400M to score by ¾ length. He has had 2 runs this season, needing his opening run but then showing improvement last time out over this trip when finishing a good close 3rd to Arabian Storm and he looks likely to build on that effort. That run was almost 4 weeks ago and he has been working fairly well since. He has top weight to defy and is taking on some promising 4 year olds so he appears to have it all to do but C.S. Jodha has been booked to ride and he looks to have a decent each way chance.

GENTILLESSE :- Nicely bred 4 year old filly who is trained by Sanjay Kolse and appears to be recovering from a  setback after looking very promising early in her career. Having had just 6 starts till date she was an impressive winner over 1200M on just her 2nd start and ran some decent races in the last Pune season but has been very sparingly raced over the last 12 months. She had just 1 run early in the season in Mumbai where she ran a decent 4th over a mile in a strong handicap won by Albareto but reappeared after a 9 month absence in a Class III contest over 1200M making a little progress from the rear to finish in midfield. That run should have brought her on but there is no trackwork reported which is a slight concern. K. Nazil now takes over in the saddle from S.A. Amit, she is likely to have stripped fitter and still has scope to improve so must be respected and could do much better.

QUESTIONABLE :- Nicely bred and progressive looking 4 year old gelding in the care of Trainer S.Waheed, he is a half brother to Anatevka and was an impressive last outing winner on just his 5th career start, proving to be far too strong for his rivals and winning with ease, beating Gandalf by 3 ¼ lengths in the lower class. He has incurred a 6 kilo penalty for that win but looks capable of taking that in his stride and has been working well since the run suggesting that he has improved again. He has been progressing nicely with his racing and looks to have an excellent chance of providing a quick encore with P.S. Chouhan retaining the ride.

BROTHERSOFTHEWIND :- Enigmatic 5 year old trained by Vinesh he has won 2 of his 16 starts and clearly seems to have some ability but does not look to be totally straightforward and has remaining runs have been quite erratic. Both his previous wins have been over this 1400M and he appears to have come down to very close to his last winning mark. His previous victory came in January with P. Trevor in the saddle when he came with  strong late run from the rear to beat Kodiak Queen and Cosimo in an older horses contest. Since that win he has had 4 below par runs, 2 of those on this track this term although the first one can be counted as a lung opener as it came over an inadequate 1000M. He finished well behind Relentless Pursuit last time out but had a weak 5 kilo claimer M. Ayyar in the saddle that day who is replaced today by Neeraj Rawal which is a big positive. He needs things to go right for him during the race and the gaps to appear at the right time as well but looks to be reasonably handicapped at present and could be involved if he runs up to his best.

ANGELS HARMONY :- Promising looking 4 year old filly trained by Altaf Hussain who has not quite lived up to expectations just yet but seems to have found some improvement this season and could just be coming right. She has run 14 times till date and threatened to strike on a couple of occasions but gained her maiden win on her first run this season when totally unfancied but winning from end to end over a mile with G. Amit in the saddle. She has had 2 further runs this season, both over 1400M and advertised her fitness last time out when finishing on strongly from the rear to be 4th to Anatevka. She looks to be in good shape at present, Vishal Bunde now takes over in the saddle from Akshay Gaikwad and if building on that previous effort, she could be a factor and should not be ignored.

ONDERBOY :- Trained by Nirad Karanjawala and formerly known as Hopeilicious, this 4 year old gelding is having his first start in his new name and is still a maiden after 15 runs although he has gone close on a couple of occasions. He was runner up on his last 2 starts in Mumbai, first finishing 2nd to Grand Tenton over 1400M and then when well fancied, ended up 2nd best to Nembe Greek over 1200M. He has had 2 runs this season to get him fit and Prashant Dhebe now takes over in the saddle from Yash Narredu which is encouraging. He has become a bit frustrating to follow but has been working well and although the percentage call is to oppose him, he is likely to be involved.

EIGER’S TIGER :- 5 year old gelding trained by Narendra Lagad he is usually quite consistent over middle distances and although managing to win only 2 of his 38 starts he has placed on 12 occasions and seems to be quite reliable. He looks to be quite well handicapped at present and has run a couple of promising races already this term. Dropped into Class V for a mile a couple of starts back he was a flying late 3rd to Aberlour in a 3 way photo and followed that up with another good effort up in this class when runner up to Frosted although well beaten. However, his last effort with Dashrath up was not convincing and 3 ½ kilo claimer Raghuveer Singh takes over in the saddle. He is quite capable of popping up in one of these contests before too long and looks a value each way outsider.

CRAY CRAY :- Improving 4 year old filly trained by A.M. Jadhav she had run 7 times so far and was untried on her first 4 starts but showed good improvement this season. She was upped to 1800M for the first time on her reappearance and ran a forward race kicking on to finish 3rd behind Pathan and just ½ a length behind Shivalik Skies with the winner and runner up having gone on to frank the form. She ran poorly over this trip next time out but bounced back nicely on her last start to win convincingly over this trip with the same rider up, beating the well backed Aquarius by a length. She has only been penalized 4 kilos for the win, is capable of progressing further and looks to have a good chance to repeat although the draw has been unkind to her in Stall 14.

CONCLUSION :-  Questionable created a good impression when winning fluently last time out and is selected to score again with further improvement expected. Cray Cray also has scope to improve and is feared off the low weight while the lightly raced Gentillesse is also respected if having returned to her best.

Race No. 5:-The Jamshed Dalal Trophy – Class II & III – Distance :- 1200M

EXCELLENT GOLD :- Well performed 4 year old gelding trained by Narendra Lagad, he quickly developed into a very useful sprinter and has won 4 of his 10 starts, rattling off 4 wins in a row over sprints as he bounded up the handicap scale. He seems to have reached his limit though after the last win and will need to make further improvement if he is to progress further. He has run twice already this season and was disappointing on the opening day when only 5th behind Timeless but have needed that run and was much better when dropped into this grade last time out, finishing on strongly from the rear to be a close 3rd to Perfect Star and Glyndebourne who went on to frank the form. He appears to have maintained his form and fitness since the run and Sandesh has been retained to ride again today. He is expected to progress again from that run and should confirm the form with Gazino although they are very closely matched. He looks set to continue his progression after a brief blip in his form and is respected in spite of top weight.

GAZINO :- 4 year oldcolt trained by Nosher Cama who has a similar profile to Excellent Gold and has also developed into a crack sprinter, winning 3 of his 11 starts. He came to hand during the last Pune season, winning 2 races over this trip impressively and continued that form on his first run in Mumbai when beating YannaRascala convincingly before running an excellent close 2nd to Summer Rays. He has had 2 starts this season, needing the run when finishing 5th a length behind Excellent Gold on his reappearance and last time was probably aiming too high in The Akkasaheb Maharaj. He has been working well since the run, this level looks much more realistic and with P.S. Chouhan up, he should make a bold bid to get back to winning ways.

HOUSE OF COMMONS :- 5 year old gelding from the stable of Faisal Abbas, he too was a late bloomer but seemed to flourish when hold up tactics were employed and developed into a very useful sprint handicapper winning 3 of his 11 starts. All his wins have been over 1000M which seems to be his pet trip but he has run well over 1200M in the past and with the short Pune straight should not have too much difficulty tackling it. He made a winning start to the season on the opening day when scoring stylishly from God’s Own and Wild Fire but has not raced since then which is a slight concern. He is worth trying over this longer trip, K. Nazil who rode him last time out is up again today and he clearly looks to have strong each way claims although he may need this run after a short break.

CHAPLIN :- Another progressive looking 4 year old this one from the Dallas Todywalla yard, he too developed into a crack 6 furlong sprinter during the last Mumbai season, winning 3 races and finishing 2nd on his other 2 runs, all his wins coming over 6 furlongs and on his last run in Mumbai, in his first start in this grade, he finished runner up to Allora. He has been given a couple of runs this season to get him to full fitness and should be spot on for this race. Neeraj Rawal who gets on well with him and has been riding home most of the time is on board again today, his last couple of workouts have been impressive and in receipt of weight from Excellent Gold and Gazino and with the yard in great form, he looks to have a very good chance to resume his upward curve.

GALLANT KNIGHT :- In form 4 year old gelding from the yard of Karthik G, he is clearly better than his record of 1 win from 13 starts shows although he has been runner up on as many as 4 occasions. He has run second twice in 3 starts this term, the first time over 1000M and last time out over 1200M was a shade unlucky to be pipped by Beshiktash right on the post. Just like Forest Fairy did yesterday, he takes a significant drop in weight after carrying 60.5 and 61 kilos on his last two starts so although running in the higher grade and with Bhawani replacing A. Imran Khan in the saddle, he looks a strong fancy and is a danger to all from the bottom of the weights.

CONCLUSION :- This looks likely to be a keen tussle between the two bottom weights Chaplin and Gallant Knight. The fact that the latter gets a significant ease in weight after shouldering a heavy burden in his earlier runs may just give him an edge. Excellent Gold seems to be rediscovering form and could also be involved.

Race No. 6 :- The Supreme Star Plate – Class III & IV – Distance :- 1400M

DOMINATION :- 5 year old gelding who began his career with MaleshNarredu but has recently moved to Mansoor Shah’s stable and landed a smart gamble over 1200M on his penultimate run, getting up late to nab Masterofbalantrae on the line. Overall he has been very consistent in his career, winning 3 of his 25 starts and placing on 7 occasions. He had come back down to his last winning mark when scoring on his penultimate run and could only finish 6th behind Costa Brava last time out. He will need to find some more improvement if he is to be progress further and his win came in older company while he will be taking on younger horses today and conceding weight all around. H. Zeeshan who rode him last time out keeps the ride and he is capable of being involved but is more likely to fight it out for minor honours and may find winning tough in this company.

AURELIA :- Trained by Nazak Chenoy, this nicely bred 4 year old filly is looking to resume her progress having a good overall record of 3 wins from her 8 starts till date. Starting from the last day of the previous Pune season, she rattled off 3 wins on the trot, her first two wins coming over 6 furlongs but she did win over this trip on her 3rd start, coming with a strong late run to pip Spiridon close home. She went on to finish a distant 2nd to Moonshine over 1400M next time out and upped to Class II last time out, found the opposition to be too strong ending up 4th to Timeless on her last run of the Mumbai season. She was clearly in need of the run last time out after a long break and should be much fitter and sharper today with N.B. Kuldeep being replaced by P. Trevor. She has the scope to improve further, has been working well and looks primed to run a very big race today.

ARASHI :- Another progressive 4 year old, this one trained by Vishal Gaikwad, she has won 2 of her 9 starts so far and is coming off a win last time out, finishing on strongly to get the better of odds on favourite Bronx last time out over course and distance. She is up 5 kilos for the win so she needs to make further improvement to confirm the form with the runner up who is better placed on the scale today but she seems well within herself at present and is dangerous to ignore. The switch from S. Zervan to J. Chinoy is not ideal but she is in good form and dangerous to ignore.

BRONX :- Lightly raced and scopey looking 4 year old gelding trained by NosherCama who began racing at a late stage of his career and looks to have plenty of scope to improve. He has run just 3 times so far and showed his ability on just his 2nd start when scoring an authoritative maiden victory over Grand Tenton over this trip. He may have been rusty and needed the run against Arashi last time out and should strip much fitter. He is expected to improve for that run and now looks a leading fancy to get back to winning ways.

ANATEVKA :- Half sister to Questionablewho was given a tough assignment on the 2 opening races of her career and relished the drop into handicap company when scoring a convincing 4 ¼ length maiden success over Timeless Deeds last time out and should no doubt improve again. She has been handed a stiff 6 ½ kilo penalty for her win but seems to have maintained her form and fitness since the run and with S. Zervan in the saddle again, she looks to have an excellent chance to repeat.

CONCLUSION :- Anatevka made a good impression when winning fluently last time out and is a strong fancy to repeat but Bronx looks an equally progressive sort and most likely needed the run last time out. The Nosher Cama ward is expected to improve significantly and is given the edge.

Race No. 7 :- The Personified Plate – Div. II – Class IV & V, 5 Years & Over – Distance :- 1200M

SPORTO :- 5 year old gelding trained by AdhirajsinghJodha, he has had a somewhat erratic career, having managed 2 wins from his 21 starts and he bounced back from a string of indifferent efforts on his seasonal debut, when showing excellent speed to beat Safdar convincingly by 3 ½ lengths over course and distance. He has run 2 forwards runs over 1000M since then and now reverts back up to 1200M but has A. Sandesh taking over in the saddle from S.A. Amit which could prove significant today. He is not too high above his last winning mark, seems to be in good form and could very well add another pillar to post victory today.

RARE SILVER :- Unreliable and inconsistent but well handicapped 6 year old, trained by Imtiaz Sait who has an unenviable record of just 1 win from 24 starts although he has finished 2nd on 4 occasions. It has been some time since his last win but he does seem to retain some ability still as he showed when runner up to Fribourg over 1400M towards the end of the Mumbai season. He is having his first run this season so is entitled to need the lung opener but looks an each way player with C.S. Jodha in the saddle and could be a good outsider.

ROYAL MEWS :- Well bred but quirky 5 year old filly trained by Faisal Abbas who has run 14 times so far and gained an overdue maiden success in March with today’s rider up, convincingly beating Fribourg over this trip with Good Thing finishing 4th that day. She has had plenty of racing since that win, having had 4 runs this season and looked to be coming back to form last time out when finishing on nicely from the rear to be a good 3rd to Adam’s Beginning over this trip. She has done a couple of excellent pieces of work since that run so appears to have improved again and reunited with K. Nazil again, she looks a big player and must be seriously considered.

GOOD THING :- 5 year old mare from the small stable of C.Rajendra who has been skilfully brought down to what looks a very competitive handicap mark and appears to be regaining the form that she displayed earlier in her career. She has been woefully out of form for a long time now but in her last couple of starts she has hinted at something of a revival including last time out when she made up good late ground from the rear to be a late finishing 4th behind Adam’s Beginning, just behind Royal Mews. She looks very well handicapped on the pick of her previous form, Dashrath Singh who rode her last time out is up again today and if she can find a little more improvement, she stands an excellent chance to add to her tally of wins.

BRAVE :- Enigmatic 5 year old gelding in the care of Narendra Lagad who has been a failed favourite on a number of occasions already in his short career but looks capable of winning one of these contests before too long. He has run 7 times so far, thrice this season over 5, 6 and 7 furlongs, unlucky not to score on his seasonal reappearance when pipped right on the post by I Am The Way and again well beaten as a favourite last time out when 3rd to Adele and Romantic Warrior. He reverts to 6 furlongs today, Raghuveer Singh takes over in the saddle from inexperienced whipless apprentice and he could pop up when least expected and could run a big race at a price today.

SCION :- 5 year old gelding trained by Altaf Hussain who has been taking his time to come to hand but seems to be finally finding form after 11 starts. He has been running suggestively since his last run in Mumbai when he finished on leisurely to be 3rd to Beyond Forces over 1000M and after getting a good lung opener earlier in the season, was a shade lucky not to catch Eden Rock when flying home over this trip last time out. He has been working well since that run suggested that he has come on again and with N.S. Parmar booked to ride, he looks a strong contender to score if making further progress.

CONCLUSION :- Tough to call the finale which like many races today looks highly competitive but Scion seems to be progressing nicely and could finally deliver with a little more improvement. Good Thing looks well handicapped and should be a live danger as also Royal Mews
