MAGIC BUS - Taking a million from childhood to livelihood

Posted on - 25 Apr 2013

In keeping with its enhanced focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, the RWITC takes great pride in associating with Magic Bus, an NGO focussed on underprivileged children.

The grand finale of Sunday racing will feature an association with Birdy’s and the largest cake ever in the city on our turf!  The cake will be sliced and distributed to racegoers, the funds going for the welfare activities of Magic Bus.

Magic Bus works with children to move them out of poverty by nurturing them on a journey  from childhood to livelihood. We use mentors and a sport based curricula to engage children and ensure that they make the right choices in their lives.

Our philosophy revolves around the concept of proper mentoring. We foster young adults to deliver our programme and to become role models to the children with whom we work. These mentors are from the same community as the children and serve as effective agents of change. We train these mentors to deliver the well researched, activity-based curricula we have pioneered to bring about behaviour change. A large part of their work is to promote gender equality, access to education and health services, as well as developing a child's social and emotional skills.
