RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Ivor Fernandes, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge WHISPERING QUEEN in the 5^th race, at his own (Trainer Ivor Fernandes’) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(8) –THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY PIER TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6

Soon after the start, ENCHANTED (App.A.S.Peter) leaned outwards thereby inconveniencing MISS MONEYPENNY (Robbie Downey).

Negotiating the final turn, MISS MONEYPENNY (Robbie Downey) shifted out and made contact with BOTTEGA LOUIE (P. Trevor) forcing it outwards. After questioning, Jockey Robbie Downey has been cautioned.

The Sr.V.O. reported that MOONSHINE was examined at the stables in the morning on 26/11/2018 and found to be sound in the trot.

RACE NO.2(9) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY NORTH TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 4

At the request of Trainer Nirad Karanjawala, AHEARN was examined at 1800 hours on 24/11/2018 and found to have fever, as such he was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the colt from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, STARRINGO was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(10) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF MUMBAI QUEENS NECKLACE TROPHY:

(About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 6

At 200 metres, COSTA BRAVA (P.Trevor) shifted in and went across EXCELLENT (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied. On being questioned after the race, Jockey P. Trevor stated that his mount was inclined inwards. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RACE NO.4(11) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY CUP: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 5

SUPER SUNSHINE (Shrikant Kamble) planted thereby losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Deepesh Narredu had been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race. Subsequently, Trainer Deepesh Narredu approached the Stewards stating that he has shown the horse to the Starter on the morning of 26^th November, 2018 at morning starting trials and requested that the horse be allowed to race on 29^th November, 2018. The said permission was granted on the condition that if the horse behaved in a similar manner, then he will have to be shown in two mock races to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

Jockey A.Sandesh (PERFECT STAR) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2018/19, he has been fined Rs 3,000/-.

The Sr.V.O. reported that TIMELESS stopped galloping at the 300 metres. On examination, the gelding was found to be sore by the right fore leg and was sent to the Club’s Equine Hospital for further investigation. Subsequently, the Equine Hospital reported that the gelding had fractured both sesamoids of the right fore leg. The gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.

RACE NO.5(12) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF HIRANANDANI ESTATE TROPHY:

(About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 10

At the start, AME (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.5) jumped outwards on to CRACKLIN’ ROSIE (App. Niranjan S. Parmar, dr.6), who in turn shifted out onto JOPLIN (P. S. Chouhan, dr.7).

At the start, ALSACE (App.H.Zeeshan, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with WHISPERING QUEEN (App.P.S.Kaviraj, dr.2) forcing it inwards on to CHOSEN ONE (P.Trevor, dr.1).

Soon after the start, due to a tightly packed field WHISPERING QUEEN (App.P. S. Kaviraj) was tightened for room and dropped back.

After the race, AME, CECELIA and ALSACE were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(13) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF BOMBAY SEACOAST TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 7

After the race, STAR COMRADE, TRULY EPIC and SMASHER were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(14) – THE ROTARY CLUB OF THANE LAKE CITY TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11

After being stalled, KING KHALIL (Yash Narredu) tried to duck the front gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.

WILSHIRE (S.A.Amit) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

At the start, PILATUS (Akshay, dr.4) jumped inwards onto ARROWFIELD (P. Trevor, dr.3).

At the start, HELLS BELLS (App.H. Zeeshan, dr.6) jumped outwards onto IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr.7).

Passing 1000 metres, IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted in thereby tightening PILATUS (Akshay) and WE BREAK THE RULES (P. S. Chouhan). App. Raghuveer singh has been cautioned.

Passing 800 metres, GDANSK (App. M Ayyar) shifted in onto GOLD MAGIC (Robbie Downey), who in turn shifted in tightening IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App. Raghuveer Singh) and inconveniencing ARROWFIELD (P. Trevor). App.M.Ayyar has been cautioned.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 2^nd and 5^th race, viz. ARASHI, NAMAQUA and JOPLIN, and the special sample of TRULY EPIC (6^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
