RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES TO 1400 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY  UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 5 METRES FROM 1300 METRES UP TO 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinayak to saddle his charge TABAR in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (284) – THE  SIMPLY GORGEOUS PLATE(DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres, Runners–11

 

At the start, ZEN (App.P.Trevor, dr.11) swerved inwards.

 

At the start, LADY BLACK STAR (Neeraj Rawal) lugged in and made contact with AURARIA (App.A.Sandesh). Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

Jockey Akash Agarwal (BEMISAAL) has been fined Rs.2000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Jockey S.S.Baria (DOUBLE DELITE) has been reprimanded for travelling wide in the straight for no apparent reason.

 

BEMISAAL (Akash Agarwal) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, FINAL ATTACK, BEMISAAL & RAJDOOT were found to be sound. FINAL ATTACK had an abrasion at the right hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.2 (285) –THE  WAVE OF BLISS PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres, Runners–4

 

Jockey Akash Agarwal (SEXY EYES) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, ENDEARMENT was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.3 (286) – THE RADHA SIGTIA TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres, Runners – 4

 

Soon after the start, FIRE VAULT (App.M.A.Roushan) shifted in before the Red marker and tightened CAMACHO (S.Zervan), who was checked. App.M.A.Roushan has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race, FIRE VAULT was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GO GUZZI GO was observed to have an abrasion at the right fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.4 (287)  – THE  FLASHING STAR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metrrs, Runners - 11

 

At the start, VIVA LA DIVA (App.M. Roushan) and PURE POWER (Shrikant Kamble) jumped out awkwardly. ARABIAN ROCK (Vikram Jodha) also jumped out awkwardly outwards and went on to MAJOR WAGER (V.Chandrakant).

 

Soon after the start, AQUALINA (Harish) shifted in and carried VIVA LA DIVA (App.M.A.Roushan) inwards from its rightful running who in turn went on to REAL DREAM (Towfeeq R Shaikh) who in turn shifted in and caused severe interference to STAR BURST (Amyn Merchant). The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit. 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey Harish and App.M.A.Roushan who was accompanied by his Master, Trainer Faisal A Abbas, and having heard their submissions in the matter and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Harish and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License for 9th April 2011 (permitted to ride work/ Mock race) for careless riding. Further, the Stewards were not entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered by Apprentice M.A.Roushan and decided to caution him to be more careful in the future.

 

MAJOR WAGER (V.Chandrakant) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MAJOR WAGER & VIVA LA DIVA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (288)  – THE  SIMPLY GORGEOUS PLATE (DIV.I):  (About) 1200 Metres - Runners –11

 

On arrival at the Starting Gates, THE RIGHT MAN (P.S.Chouhan) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, RIVER TERN (Shrikant Kamble) fly jumped and lost ground and the Jockey lost his right stirrup which he regained shortly. Due to this, the Jockey was not able to follow the instructions which were to be 3rd or 4th position. Also, due to a wall of horses in front of him in the straight, the Jockey was unable to follow the instruction which were to pull the horse out and ride out.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BLAU HIMMEL) has been fined Rs.2000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

LOYAL TYCOON (Akash Agarwal) lugged-in in the final 200 metres and carried YOUNG OFFENDER (App.Akshay) inwards and in the process inconvenienced SOLID ROCK (C.S.Jodha). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BLAU HIMMEL) reported that his rein got entangled with the whip in the last 200 metres.

In the last 100 metres, SOLID ROCK (C.S.Jodha) lugged in and possibly clipped the hind heels of YOUNG OFFENDER (App.Akshay) and stumbled, due to which the Jockey came off the saddle and fell on the Track after the Winning Post. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

 

After the race, SOLID ROCK was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BLAU HIMMEL was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind fetlock and left hind canon. LOYAL TYCOON was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (289) – THE CHAITANYA CHAKRAM TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres, Runners- 9

 

Near  400 metres, OCEAN EMPEROR (Ishwar Pardeshi) lugged in and inconvenienced GENERALISSIMO (Akash Agarwal). Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, AMBEROGIO  was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the mare is not to race for the stipulated period of  8 weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.7 (290)  – THE FLASHING STAR PLATE (DIV.I): About) 1000 Metres,  Runners - 12

 

At the start, CHEPONSKI (V.Chandrakant) was tightened while racing between HOTTIE (J.Chinoy) and ADVENTURER (A.M.Tograllu).

App M.A.Roushan (SEA BUCANEER) was fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

Furthe,App.M.A.Roushan was  observed to have used his whip in an improper manner for which he was reported to  Stewards for such action as deemed fit. The Stewards interviewed Apprentice M.A.Roushan who was accompanied by his Master , Trainer Faisal A.Abbas, and having heard the submissions made by them  and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Apprentice M.A.Roushan in the subject matter and  decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s License for 9th April 2011 (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race) for improper use of the whip. Further, he was warned that on a repetition of a similar offence, severe action may be initiated against him.

 

After the race, HOTTIE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.8 (291) – THE DRAMATIC IRONY PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres, Runners –10

 

LAKE GENEVA (Harish) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, LAKE GENEVA was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9 (292) – THE SECRET TREASURE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres, Runners –15

 

FALLEN ANGEL (App.A.Sandesh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

App.M.A.Roushan (DEVIL IN DISGUISE) has been reprimanded for shifting ground under the use of the whip and also exhibiting the Victory sign before passing the Winning Post.

 

After the race, COUGAR was found to be sound.

The urine sample of winner of  the  6th, 8th & 9th race, viz.BATISTA, SHAHENSHAH & DEVIL IN DISGUISE and the special sample of STAR TREASURE (2nd race), VIVA LA DIVA (4th race) and AMBEROGIO (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ERATUM :

RE: APPEAL FROM JOCKEY DASHRATH SINGH AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 17TH MARCH 2011 TO 27TH MARCH 2011 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) FOR CARELESS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “DEVILITTO” IN RACE NO 230 RUN ON 27TH FEBRUARY 2011 – JOCKEY DASHRATH SINGH WAS GRANTED A STAY ON THE PUNISHMENT:

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 19th March 2011 rejected Appeal from Jockey Dashrath Singh in the above connection.

Since Jockey Dashrath Singh was granted a stay on his punishment till 20th March 2011 his punishment would now come into effect from 24th March 2011 up to 4th April 2011 (both days inclusive).

 

RE : EQNUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “OCEAN TRAIL” IN RACE NO.221 – THE COUNT THE STEPS PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 20/02/2011

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer S.K.Sunderji and App.P.Trevor in the above connection. Trainer S.K. Sunderji stated that he had instructed the Jockey to be in 2nd/3rd position. However, he lost the chance of winning the race at the start itself as explained in his complaint. The horse was fractious in the gate and as the start was effected, the horse had put his head down and lost ground and therefore his jockey, P. Trevor, was unable to follow the given instructions. He stated that he had strongly fancied the filly in this race.

When questioned, App. P. Trevor confirmed the instruction and stated that when he lost ground at the jump out, he could not follow the Trainer’s instructions and he had gradually improved his position and did his best in the straight and the filly was gaining ground in the last part.

When questioned about the security in his yard, Trainer S.K. Sunderji explained that the security in his stable is excellent as his Owner Mr. Wadhawan has provided video cameras in the Security Yard. Further, he has also provided Private Security Guards and therefore there is no chance of any foul play in his stable. He also opined that if something was done to the filly, she would not have responded in the final furlong as it can be noticed that she was gaining ground.

On viewing the video recording of the race, it was evident that the filly had put her head down on a couple of occasion and she had put her head down and lost some ground when the start was effected,. Thre previous starts of the filly were viewed and it was noticed that in Race No. 9, which was the first race of the filly during the Mumbai Season, the filly was fractious in the gate and while jumping out, she lost about a length. In her next run in Race No. 47, the filly was provided a handler at the request of the Jockey and she jumped out well and in the race in question, the filly was fractious in draw No. 8 and lost about 2 lengths at the start.

The explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey was noted.

 

RE :ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPLAINT LODGED BY TRAINER S.K.SUNDERJI IN RESPECT OF THE START IN RACE NO.221 – THE COUNT THE STEPS PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 20/02/2011 WHERE HIS CHARGE “OCEAN TRAIL” HAD LOST GROUND AT THE START :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 20th March, 2011 considered a note dated 25th February, 2011 from the Starter and having heard Trainer S.K.Sunderji and App.P.Trevor as also the Starter and having viewed the video recording of the start of the race, decided that the incident of the horse putting his down just when the start was given and losing ground at the start was accidental and no action was called for in the matter.

 

 

GENERAL  - MORNING TRACK WORK –  21ST MARCH, 2011 :

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the morning track work on 21st March, 2011, WARRIOR PRINCE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

SAMPLE RESULTS:

The post race urine sample of the following runners has been reported NEGATIVE for the presence of prohibited substance:
