RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1400 METRES TILL 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES, WIDTH ABOUT 5 METRES.

RACE NO 1. (221) THE ROAD RUNNER PLATE  - DIV II (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 9

 

In the final 200 metres, MUSICAL RHAPSODY (D.S.Rathore) shifted out under the use of the whip and went across AURARIA (N.S.Parmar). As such, Jockey D.S.Rathore has been fined Rs.1000/- for improper use of the whip. Further, he has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. 

 

After the race, AURARIA was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DOUBLE DELITE, WINCHESTER & HISHAM were found to be sound.

RACE NO 2. (222) THE KOJAGIRI PLATE (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners - 9

 

Jockey Nirmal Jodha, the declared Rider for ROYAL STYLE, failed to report at the Scales to be weighed out, as such he was replaced with Jockey Amyn Merchant. Since Jockey Nirmal Jodha was unavailable for questioning, the matter has been kept pending.

 

Jockey S.Sunil (GRANT PARK) reported that his mount was inclined to lug out. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (COGITO ERGO SUM) reported that his mount was inclined to lug in. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

OCEAN SONATA (C.Rajendra) lugged-in in the final 200 metres. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Near 300 metres, GRANT PARK (S.Sunil) shifted in under the use of the whip and caused severe interference to OCEAN FAIRY (T.Mahesh). Jockey S.Sunil has been fined Rs.5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race, CLASSIC MONEY was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 3. (223) THE ROAD RUNNER PLATE  - DIV I (About) 1400 Metres.  Runners - 9

 

HONEY BEE (C.S.Jodha) lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, AVON CREEK (C.Alford) tried to swerve outwards. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. 

 

Near 900 metres, ARZAAN (J.Pradeep) was inconvenienced while racing behind STARRY OCEAN (App.P.Trevor).

 

FIRE SPARK (J.Chinoy) was observed not to have been ridden out in the straight. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the filly who reported that no abnormality was detected and a filly had an abrasion on both hind pasterns. Since the horse was found sound on examination, Jockey J.Chinoy has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to ride out his mount and has been cautioned for the future.

 

After the race, NATURELLE was found to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO 4. (224) THE CLASSIC ROCK PLATE (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 9

 

Soon after the start, RIVER GEM (D.K.Ashish) shifted out and jostled with PETRA (N.S.Parmar). The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey D.K.Ashish in the above connection and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License w.e.f. 14th November 2010 to 21st November 2010 (both days inclusive) for Careless Riding. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Dashrath Singh, the rider of CROWNED PRINCESS (placed 4th), against Jockey Vikram Jodha, the rider of PAPER KING (placed 3rd). The reason being, passing 200 metres when he was just making his move to take the lead, PAPER KING, who was on his outside, came on to him, whereby he had to check his mount, which cost him a certain race.

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards’ Enquiry was also held in this race. The reason being, at about 350 metres, RIVER GEM (D.K.Ashish, unplaced) shifted in and caused a check to CROWNED PRINCESS (Dashrath Singh, placed 4th) and the horses placed First and Second viz. SEA BUCANEER & STAR GLORY were owned by the same owners.

 

The Stewards obtained the evidence from the Jockeys concerned, in conjuctioin with that of the Stipendiary Stewards/Racing Advisor and relying on their observation of both the incidents, decided that no change in the order of placing was called for and further decided to overrule the Objection.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey Vikram Jodha for careless riding on his mount and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him in the subject case. However, considering that he had admitted his guilt and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and suspended his Jockey’s license for 14th November, 2010 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

At about 800 metres, CROWNED PRINCESS (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and took the running of AAJA NACHLE (T.S.Jodha) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Dashrath Singh fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

RIVER GEM (D.K.Ashish) lugged-in in the straight. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examined the gelding and he reported that the gelding returned sore by the right fore leg. As such, no action has been initiated in to the matter. RIVER GEM has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AAJAA NACHLE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.  

 

After the race, it was observed that CROWNED PRINCESS & AAJAA NACHLE had lost their left fore plate. PAPER KING was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 5. (225) THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA TROPHY - DIV II  (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 9

 

Trainer N.B.Chenoy has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting late Declaration in respect of her charge HIGH SOCIETY.

 

MATILDA (J.Chinoy) and SIMPLE MAGIC (S.Sunil) were restless in their respective stalls. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give both his charges more Gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (MARIGOLD) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

After the race, HIGH SOCIETY was observed to have an abrasion at both hind pastern, MATILDA had an abrasion at the right hind pastern and OUR LITTLE ANGEL had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. SIMPLE MAGIC was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 6. (226) THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA TROPHY  - DIV I  (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 9

 

Trainer Robert D’Mellow has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting late Declaration in respect of his charge TWITTILLATOR.

The saddle on GILDES LINE was adjusted at the start. ROYALTY (S.Sunil) tried to veer out at the start.

 

Jockey S.Sunil (ROYALTY) reported that his horse hung out in the early part till entering the straight. Trainer Fasial A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ROYALTY was found to be sound, having an abrasion at both hind fetlock and an injury in the left nostril. TWITTILLATOR, FETISH & SUN KISSED were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 7. (227) THE IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING MILLION : (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 9                  

 

Trainer Vinayak has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting late Declaration in respect of his charge SALCOMBE.

 

Near 800 metres, SALCOMBE (S.Zervan) shifted in and took the running of SPLASH (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) who had to be checked. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

SHERMAN FLAIL (D.K.Ashish) hung out in the straight. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, SHERMAN FLAIL was found to be sound, having an injury in the left nostril.

 

SHERMAN FLAIL (D.K.Ashish) was placed fifth and HIAWATHA (Malcolm Kharadi) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO 8. (228) THE STRENGTHTOSTRENGTH TROPHY (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners – 12

 

Trainer N.B.Chenoy has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting late Declaration in respect of her charge STEELY DAN.

 

App.D.Akkshay (HIGHLAND VISION) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Soon on entering the straight, STAR OF ROSES (App.Kavraj Singh) was held up for a clear run for a few strides.

 

After the race, SAN RAFAEL & GRAND WARRIOR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 9. (229) THE SELF STYLED PLATE (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 11

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge NORTHERN ROCK in two races on the same day.

 

FANTASTIC (App.A.Sandesh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the filly more Gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Antia was questioned regarding the running and riding of MCQUEEN in this race. Trainer Antia stated that MAQUEEN is a five years old gelding and he is still a maiden. He said that the gelding runs well when held and ridden and and this was one of the better runs of the horse. The explanation tendered by Trainer H.J.Antia has been noted for future reference.

 

VICTOR IVANOV (T.S.Jodha) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Suresh Chavan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

JALSA (App.P.Trevor) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey Vikram Jodha (PHAROAH) has been fined Rs.2000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he had kept an erratic course in the straight thereby losing ground. Further he has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, JALSA & VICTOR IVANOV were found to be sound.        

 

RACE NO 10. (230) THE SURESH MAHINDRA TROPHY (About) 3200 Metres. Runners - 4

 

Jockey C.Rajendra (HIGHLAND CROWN) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in and make contact with MASEEHA (App P Trevor) in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, HIGHLAND CROWN & WHITE KNIGHT were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd, 5th, 7th & 10th race, viz. STARRY OCEAN, CAPE FERRAT, CLASS APART & CLARION CALL and also that BLACK MAGIC WOMAN & MISS STARLIGHT (7th race) and the special sample of AAJAA NACHLE (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF THE SUSPENSION OF HIS TRAINER’S LICENSE W.E.F. 10TH OCTOBER 2010 TO 16TH OCTOBER 2010 – ENQUIRY IN TO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “FIREMISS” IN RACE NO 153 RUN ON 18TH SEPTEMBER 2010 – TRAINER ADIL DAJEE.

 

The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 17th October 2010 considered all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Tr. Adil Dajee, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to allow the Appeal.
