RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 2.5 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer N.B.Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Bezan Chenoy to saddle her charge HEIRESS in the 6th race, at her (Trainer N.B.Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1 (60) - THE STAR OF THE SEASON PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 10
At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, LOYAL TYCOON was examined on 0935 hours on 14/08/2011 and was found to sore by the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey Ladjadj Stephane were questioned regarding the running and riding of WILD IMAGINATIION. The Jockey was instructed to go to the front. He added that near 800 metres, TAG ALONG TOMMY (App.Kavraj Singh) shifted out and interfered with him and when he came into the straight there was no gap for him to take and when the gap opened on his inside he took it. The Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered and they will be enquiring further into the matter and will submit a report shortly.
App.Kavraj Singh (TAG ALONG TOMMY) has been cautioned for taking up a position near 800 metres when there was insufficient room thereby inconveniencing WILD IMAGINATION (Ladjadj Stephane).
After the race, STYLISH STROKES was observed to have a cut injury at both the hock and ASHWA PRAHAR had a cut injury at the right fore outer bulb of heel. WILD IMAGINATION and CRESCENDO were found to be sound.
RACE NO 2 (61) – THE EAU DE VIE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners - 5
At the start, RUNNING SUN (App.M.A.Roushan) tried to veer to the outside, losing ground.
Near 800 metres, TORA BORA (Malcolm Kharadi) was hampered for a run as GO GUZZI GO (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GO GUZZI GO) reported the loss of whip near 400 metres.
After the race, TORA BORA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO 3 (62) - THE THANDA PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 5
HIGHLAND FLAME (Vikram Jodha) took a fly jump.
At the start, OCEAN LEGACY (Suraj Narredu, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly inwards and took the running of SAINTS N SINNERS (App.A.Sandesh, dr.2) who was steadied and lost ground.
RACE NO 4 (63) – THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY: About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 6
Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.6000/- (i.e.Rs.3000/- for each case), for putting in late Declaration in respect of his charges CLARION CALL and WHITE KNIGHT.
At the start, MISSCHEVIOUS TROT (App P Trevor) veered outwards and then joined the field, thus losing ground.
At start, CLARION CALL (App.Kavraj Singh, dr.2) shifted outwards on to SU CHALIYO (C.Rajendra, dr.3) who in turn caused BELLIGERENT (App.A.Sandesh, dr.4) to shift out, as a result BELLIGERENT was awkwardly placed behind the heels of WHITE KNIGHT (Dashrath Singh) and was steadied.
App.Kavraj Singh (CLARION CALL) has been cautioned for not being vigorous in his riding efforts in the final 100 metres.
SU CHALIYO (C Rajendra) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
RACE NO 5 (64) – THE DEEPAK RAUT GOLD TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 13
Trainer Sangramsinh N Joshi has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge TROPICAL ZONE in this race without having the horse passed by the Club’s V.O. The horse was struck out at the Acceptance stage.
Trainers Bezan Chenoy and Dallas Todywalla have been fined Rs.3000/- each for putting in late Declaration in respect of their charges BEAUTIFUL MIND and EMERALD ROMANCE respectively.
BOTSWANA (Malcolm Kharadi), EL WONDER (C.S.Jodha) and EMERALD ROMANCE (J.Chinoy) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers P.Shroff, Vijay Kasbekar and Dallas Todywalla have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey S.Sunil (FOLLOW THE DREAM) has been fined Rs. 3000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and cutting across the field.
After the race BOTSWANA was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind coronet.
RACE NO 6 (65) – THE PUNE SUB-AREA TROPHY: About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 10
Trainer N.B.Chenoy has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of her charge HEIRESS.
Near 1100 metres, ORITO (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and jostled with APOCALYPSE (App.Akshay) and shortly afterwards BLUE FLASH (Kishore Kadam) shifted in and jostled with APOCALYPSE. Jockeys Dashrath Singh and Kishore Kadam have been fined Rs.2000/- each for failing to exercise proper control over their respective mount.
Approaching 1000 metres, CHEPONSKI (App.A.Sandsh) shifted in and caused interference to OCEAN GIRL (J.Chinoy). App.A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
After the race, ORITO was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO 7 (66) – THE PRA INDEPENDENCE MILLION: (About) 2000 Metres. Runners – 15
Approaching 200 metres, SOLAR ANGEL (App.M.A.Roushan) shifted in and tightened POUND FOOLISH (T.S.Jodha) who was checked. App.M.A.Roushan has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
After the race, TARA was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, FROST FAIRY & OCEAN STORM were found to be sound.
RACE NO 8 (67) – THE DEEPAK RAUT GOLD TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 12
Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of his charge STAR BLESSINGS.
DANCING JENNY (Shrikant Kamble) was slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Jockey Amyn Merchant (STATE HERITAGE) reported that his mount hung out under pressure. Trainer Altamash A.Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, STATE HERITAGE & DIVINE SPLENDOUR were found to be sound.
RACE NO 9 (68) – THE GAEA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 11
At the start, STAR MIRACLE (App.Akshay, dr.11) jumped out awkwardly inwards and made contact with CELEBRATIOINS (App.P.Trevor, dr.10).
The explanation of Jockey Dashrath Singh (ASHWA PRAYAG) that he could not follow the instructions which were to be in 3/ 4th position as the gelding did not respond to his urgings and the gelding was not on the bit, was noted.
Approaching 600 metres, ASHWA PRAYAG (Dashrath Singh) was ridden in check for a few strides due to lack of room.
After the race, WARRIOR PRINCE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, OCEAN TOUCH was found to be sound.
RACE NO 10 (69) – THE STAR OF THE SEASON PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 11
TRUE ELEGANCE (A.Sandesh) and ON MY WAY (C.S.Jodha) were restless in the stall due to which the saddle on ON MY WAY was completely displaced. Since all the other horses were loaded, ON MY WAY was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainers Rehanullah Khan and Nina M.Lalvani have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MATILDA (C.Rajendra) was also restless in the stall. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner previously, Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
AFSANEH (S.N.Chavan) was slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, PEREGRINE FALCON (App.Kavraj Singh) ducked in. On questioning, the Apprentice explained that the right rein slipped out of his hands and therefore his mount had shifted inwards. Apprentice Kavraj Singh has been cautioned.
PEREGRINE FALCON (App.Kavraj Singh) hung in during the race. Since the mare was reported to have broken a blood vessel, no action was initiated in the matter.
After the race, PEREGRINE FALCON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and also had a cut injury at the left hind cannon. The mare is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, DANCING MONEY had a cut injury above the left fore knee and under mandibular area and also had a gum injury.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 4th and 7th race viz. ASHWA PRAHAR, SU CHALIYO and ENLIGHTENMENT, as also that of AZUL & EYE OF THE STORM (7th race), and the special sample of TORA BORA (2nd race), BOTSWANA & PRIME CIRCLE (5th race), STAR ZONE & OCEAN GIRL (6th race), FROST FAIRY (7th race), HILLS AND DALES & MOUNTAIN FAIRY (8th race), WARRIOR PRINCE & STAR MIRACLE (9th race) and PEREGRINE FALCON & OCEAN TRAIL (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
