After the incident ASHWA YODHAA could not be ridden out to complete advantage.

The matter was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey Ladjadj Stephane (NATIVE KNIGHT) who was accompanied by his Spokesman as also Jockey Dashrath Singh (CABRIOLET) and having heard them and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Dashrath Singh and decided to warn him to trying to force his way out where was insufficient room.

Further, the Stewards were also not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Ladjadj Stephane in the subject case. In that, the Stewards  held the view that even conceding Jockey Dashrath Singh (CABRIOLET) did shift out passing 600 metres, however, this did not give Jockey Ladjadj Stephane the right to deliberately push Jockey Dashrath Singh with his elbow so as to keep him in. The Stewards noted that action had been initiated against Jockey Ladjadj Stephane for a similar incident in the past. However, considering that in the present case Jockey Dashrath Singh was also at fault for trying to force his way out, the Stewards decided to take a lenient view in the matter and cautioned Jockey Ladjadj Stephane that on repetition of similar riding, he will be liable for severe disciplinary action.

In the final stages of the race, CABRIOLET (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and caused HIGHLAND CROWN  (P.Kamlesh) to shift in, who lugged in and in the process went across MR GREEDY (C.Rajendra). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been reprimanded for failing to keep a straight course.

At the start, EL CLASICO (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and at the same time RED PASSION (T.Atul) shifted out and carried TAMARAI (Akash Agarwal) out on to RISING GLORY who made contact with EL CLASICO.

Approaching 600 metres, EL CLASICO (Dashrath Singh) possibly clipped the hind heels of DANCING GLANCES (App P Trevor) and stumbled and fell, dislodging its Rider and as a result OCEAN WISH (Shammi Khan) got jostled by EL CLASICO. Due to the fall of EL CLASICO, TAMARAI (Akash Agarwal) who was following, stumbled upon EL CLASICO and fell, dislodging its Rider. Due to the incident, Jockey R.Shelar (CLAIM TO FAME) and R.Rupesh (TALK OF THE TOWN) pulled up their respective mounts to avoid collusion  with the fallen horses/Jockeys.

Near 300 metres, DANCING GLANCES (App. P. Trevor) was ridden in check due to insufficient room on the inside of RED PASSION (T.Atul) and a little later the gap closed as RED PASSION shifted inwards. Jockey T.Atul has been cautioned.

The Sr.V.O. reported that TAMARAI and EL CLASICO fell down near 600 metres. On examination, TAMARAI was found to be sound, having suffered a cut injury at the left hind coronet. RE : OBJECTION IN RACE NO.44 – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY RUN ON 7TH AUGUST, 2011 – JOCKEY C.RAJENDRA, RIDER OF “MARAUDER” – CARELESS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT :

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 14th August, 2011 interviewed Jockey C.Rajendra in the above connection. The Stewards having considered all the submissions made by Jockey C.Rajendra and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him in the subject case and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount MARAUDER in the above race. In that, at about 200 metres, he used the whip with the left hand and shifted in thereby taking the ground of KATHELYNN (C.Alford) who had to stop riding at a crucial stage of the race and pull his mount out and Jockey C.Rajendra made no effort to correct his mount. However, considering that this was his first offence of careless riding during the current Pune Meeting, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 3rd September, 2011 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
