RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES TO 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 3 METRES FROM 1300 METRES UP TO 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1 (44) – THE AU PANACHE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres, Runners – 4

Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge RODRIGO without meeting the requirement of showing the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter.

Near 1400 metres THUNDER STRIKE (N.G. McCullagh) was inclined to run out thereby placing its rider at a disadvantage. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, EQUALITY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.2 (45) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres, Runners – 8

Jockey I. Shaikh, the declared rider for BLUSH, has been fined Rs. 2000/- for wearing an unapproved safety vest.

Soon after the start, SEA BUCANEER (App A.Sandesh) was inconvenienced as PERPETUATION (Suraj Narredu) lugged in. PERPETUATION again lugged-in in the concluding stages of the race and inconvenienced SEA BUCANEER (App A Sandesh). As PERPETUATION was reported to have broken a blood vessel no action has bee initiated in the matter.

Jockey P.Trevor (ROYAL GESTURE) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight, Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of GREAT WHITE and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, PERPETUATION was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SEA BUCANEER was found to be sound.

RACE NO.3 (46) – THE SIR RAHIMTOOLA CHINOY TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metrrs, Runners - 4

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (DOI MOI) reported that approaching 600 metres he was boxed with ANGELO in front of him and OH CALCUTTA on its outside whereby he had to steady his mount.

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of AMORE MIO and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, DOI MOI was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock.

RACE NO.4 (47) – THE MORELLATO BY GITANJALI LIFESTYLE TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres, - Runners - 5

At the request of Trainer C.D.Katrak, STAR GODDESS was examined at 1030 hours on 08/12/2010 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

ECHOES ROCK (S.A. De Sousa) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

After the race, FLYING STAR was observed to have a cut injury on the tongue.

RACE NO.5 (48) – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres, Runners- 7

KHURSANIYAH (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the final 200 metres. Since the filly was reported to have broken a blood vessel no action has been initiated.

After the race, KHURSANIYAH was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, ALIYANA was observed to have a cut injury at the lower lip..

RACE NO.6 (49) – THE VESUVIUS PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres, Runners - 13

TAG ALONG TOMMY (Malcolm Kharadi) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Hosidar Daji has bee asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

App A.Sandesh (TZIGANE) reported loss of his whip in the final 100 metres.

BOLERO (T.S. Jodha) lugged in soon after the start. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the colt and he reported that BOLERO had returned sore by the left fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, KRUG was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, TAG ALONG TOMMY was found to be sound.

RACE NO.7 (50) – THE AUTUMN BLUE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres - Runners - 15

TALENTED (D.K.Ashish) was slowly out, losing about 8 lengths at the start. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next acepting to race.

Trainer Nana Raghunath has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of his charge MUSICAL RHAPSODY.

At the start, COUGAR (R Rupesh) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and tightened ASCLEPIEION (R Shelar). Jockey R Rupesh has been asked to be more alert in the Gates.

At the start, RISING GLORY (S.Shinde) jumped out awkwardly and as the filly was being steadied, KIMAYA (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted in and tightened RISING GLORY. Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey N.S.Parmar (RAVE ON) and App A Sandesh (TEASE ME) have been reprimanded for shifting in before the Red Marker.

Passing 1000 metres, TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh) was hampered and steadied when TOMORROWS DREAMS (Vikram Jodha) was steadied as RAVE ON (N.S.Parmar) raced along on its outside.

In the final stages of the race, MYSTIC TEMPLE (S.P.Ranjane) shifted in and made contact with ROYAL CONNECTION (S.Sunil). Jockey S.P.Ranjane has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

In the final stage of the race, BRAVE GYPSY (S. Zervan) shifted out under the use of the whip and carried ROYAL CONNECTION (S.Sunil) outward, who in turn inconvenienced MYSTIC TEMPLE (S.P.Ranjane), due to which COUGAR (R.Rupesh) who was behind MYSTIC TEMPLE, had to travel wide. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned for improper use of the whip.

An Objection was lodged by Jockey S.Zervan (BRAVE GYPSY, dead-heat for the first Place) against Jockey Amyn Merchant ( PHAROAH dead-heat for the first Place), for cutting across in the last 200 metres and taking his ground, whereby his mount clipped PHAROAH because of which he had to stop riding for a couple of strides after which he gathered his mount and pushed his mount and the verdict was a dead-heat.

The Stewards having heard the evidence of the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of Stipendiary Steward and the Racing Advisor and relying on their observation of the incident, decided to uphold the Objection and revised the Order of Placing as under:

BRAVE GYPSY - First; ROYAL CONNECTION - Third

PHAROAH - Second MYSTIC TEMPLE - Fourth

Jockey S Sunil (ROYAL CONNECTION) reported loss of whip near 200 metres from the Winning Post.

After the race, RISING GLORY was found to be sound having an injury on the upper gum. ASCLEPIEION was found to be sound.

The urine sample of winner of 4^th & 7^th race viz. MARIA TERESA & BRAVE GYPSY and the special sample of EQUALITY (1^st race), PERPETUATION (2^nd race), KHURSANIYAH (5^th race) and KRUG (6^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
