RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 4 METRES FROM 1300 METRES UP TO 1000 METRES.

RACE NO 1. (318) THE SION F.NESSIM PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 9

At the start, ITSPEARLOFRACING (Shrikant Kamble) threw its head up and lost ground due to which the Jockey could not follow the instructions which were to go to the front.

At the start, TEASE ME (App.A.Sandeshdr.7) jumped out awkwardly and went on to REAL DREAM (App.Akshaydr.6).

Soon after the start, GEISHA (S.Zervan) shifted in and made contact with KATRINA (C.S.Jodha) on a few occasions, who had to be checked by its rider due to lack of room since ITSPERALOFRACING (Shrikant Kamble) was racing in front of him at that stage. Since the incident was accidental, no action was initiated against any rider.

Jockey Vikram Jodha (UNSTOPPABLE) has been fined Rs.2000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and later going across TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh), who was checked.

Approaching 600 metres, TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh) lost position when REAL DREAM (App.Akshay) shifted out due to KATRINA (C.S.Jodha) shifting out and in trying to balance his mount, TEASE ME shifted in and hampered the running of ITSPEARLOFRACING (Shrikant Kamble). Jockey C.S. Jodha has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Near 300 metres, TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh) was tightened when ITSPEARLOFRACING (Shrikant Kamble) shifted inwards. Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Trainer H.J.Antia was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge SEA DIAMOND. Trainer Antia stated that this was a poor set of horses as compared to Race No.255, except for UNSTOPPABLE who had placed second in its previous run, the other horses had no form. Race No.255 was won by his own horse MYSTIC TEMPLE who clocked 59.50 seconds and MYSTIC TEMPLE is a winner of two races this season and RISING GLORY who had finished fourth in that race has also subsequently won a race. Further, NATIONAL IKON who had finished fifth in that race, placed second in Class IV subsequently whereas his horse SEA DIAMOND ran in a lower Class (0 to 19). Also, in Race No.255 it was big field of 20 horses and his horse was drawn-17. Further, his horse SEA DIAMOND had clocked 1 Minute 1.46 seconds in Race No.255 and today the horse has won in more or less same timing i.e. 1 Minute 1.09 seconds. The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

The Stewards considered the above report and having viewed the video recording of both the races i.e. Race No.255 and 318, directed the Stipendiary Stewards to ask Trainer H.J.Antia to remain present after the races on 10^th April, 2011 to meet them in the above connection.

The Veterinary Officer in charge of the Equine Hospital reported that Trainer Vijay Kasbekar informed him that his horse REAL DREAM was showing symptoms of shivering after reaching the stables. The Veterinary Officer reached the stable to attend to the horse and found that the horse was dead before he reached the stable.

After the race, CHIEF WARRIOR and GEISHA were found to be sound. GEISHA had a cut injury above the left hock and UNSTOPPABLE had a cut injury at the right hind canon.

RACE NO 2. (319) THE R.R.KOMANDUR PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 5

ARSHAVIN was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.

Jockey S.K.Jadhav (ENCHANTED) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, STAR BUILDER & APACHE INDIAN were found to be sound.

RACE NO 3. (320) THE DECENT PROPOSAL PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 8

Near 600 metres, ETIQUETTE (Akash Agarwal) became unbalanced while racing between NATIONAL IKON (S.Sunil) and STAR BURST (R.Shelar) and lost position and dropped back.

After the race, GOLDEN GRACE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, TWIN SPICE & STAR BURST were found to be sound.

RACE NO 4. (321) THE WISDOM PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres - Runners – 11

At the start, INNER HARMONY (Kishore Kadam, dr.5) shifted ground outwards and at the same time FLYING SPIRIT (C.S.Jodha, dr.8) shifted ground inwards and carried FLUENT VICTORY (Akash Agarwal, dr.7) due to which INNER HARMONY and FLUENT VICTORY were tightened.

Jockey Suraj Narredu (TOMORROWS DREAMS) has been fined Rs. 2000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

Soon on entering the straight, FIERY FORTUNE (N.Rawal) shifted out to progress in the race and caused INNER HARMONY (Kishore Kadam) to shift out, who in turn forced FLYING SPIRIT (C.S.Jodha) to travel further out. Jockey N.Rawal has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

INNER HARMONY (Kishore Kadam) lugged-in in the final 100 meters. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey N.Rawal (FIERY FORTUNE) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, FLUENT VICTORY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, INNER HARMONY was found to be sound.

RACE NO 5. (322) THE DELAGE TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 12

At the Start, SUKI SUKI (S.Sunil, dr. 8) jumped out awkwardly outwards and STAFFAN (S.Zervan, dr. 10) jumped out awkwardly inwards due to which LAKE ERIE (R.Shelar, dr. 9) was tightened. Due to the impact, SUKI SKI shifted in and made contact with ROSE HEAVEN (N.Rawal) and in the process SUKI SUKI was steadied and lost position.

Near 900 metres, ROSE HEAVEN (N.Rawal) was steadied as STAFFAN (S.Zervan) shifted in and went across. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.

Jockey P.S.Chouhan (MOUNTAIN PRINCE) and Neeraj Rawal (BLUE SKY) have been fined Rs.2000/- each for shifting in before the Red Marker.

After the race, RADICAL MACKIE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, BELLISIMA was found to be sound.

RACE NO 6. (323) THE BEJAN BHARUCHA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners - 8

STARFALL (Suraj Narredu) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

Near 800 metres, SNOW QUEEN (S.Zervan) shifted in and tightened STARFALL (Suraj Narredu) who in turn shifted in and caused interference to CLOUD COVER (A.Ashad Asbar). Jockey S.Zervan has been fined 2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Passing 400 metres, TELL ME MORE (Akash Agarwal) shifted out causing SEA OF KISSES (R.Shelar) to shift out and make contact with SNOW QUEEN (S.Zervan) turning the latter sideways. Jockey Akash Agarwal has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

In the final stages of the race, SEA OF KISSES (R.Shelar) was ridden in check due to lack of room as he had a horse in front of him (SNOW QUEEN) and also on the side (STARFALL).

After the race, SNOW QUEEN was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SEA OF KISSES was found to be sound.

RACE NO 7. (324) THE DELAGE TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres - Runners – 12

Soon after the Start, BARTIMAEUS (S.Sunil) was steadied when RULE FOREVER (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out as ASHWA GAURAV (Suraj Narredu) shifted ground outwards.

Soon on entering the straight, TEODOR (Satish Nayak) shifted in as the Jockey used the whip once and took the running of MOUNTAIN MYNAH (Amyn Merchant) who was checked and shifted out, forcing DAREDEVIL (Akash Agarwal) to travel wider.

In the final 100 metres, BARTIMAEUS (S.Sunil) was ridden in check due to lack of room as BLESSED (C.S.Jodha) shifted in. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

Jockey Kishore Kadam (PABLO NERUDA) has been reprimanded for improper use of the whip, wherein he had used the whip with left hand when the gelding was inclined to shift in.

Jockey C.S.Jodha (BLESSED) reported loss of whip near 150 metres.

After the race, RULE FOREVER was found to have an abrasion at the left hind canon and had lost its left hind plate.

RACE NO 8. (325) THE DECENT PROPOSAL PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres - Runners – 7

At the request of Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, RAN BANKA was examined at 0750 hours on 08/04/2011 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence permited to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

On arrival at the Starting Gates, RED TABASCO (Akash Agarwal) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, PURE POWER (S.K.Jadhav) shifted ground outwards and went on to EXUBERANCE (App.Akshay).

OCEAN SONATA (Suraj Narredu) lugged in through out the race. Soon after the start, the gelding shifted in due to which EXUBERANCE (App.Akshay) shifted in on to C’EST LA VIE (S.Sunil) who in turn went on to SUNIGHT MAGIC (I.Pasha) and as the horses were steadied, C’EST LA VIE shifted in and made contact with SUNLIGHT MAGIC on a few occasions. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

EXUBERANCE (App.Akshay) lugged out in the straight and raced along the outer rails. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, OCEAN SONATA & EXUBERANCE were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 2^nd & 7^th race viz. SEA DIAMOND, ENCHANTED & PABLO NERUDA and the special sample of STAR BUILDER (2^nd race), RADICAL MACKIE (5^th race), RULE FOREVER (7^th race) and OCEAN SONATA (8^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
