RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES TO 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.
On a request from Trainer Vijay Kasbekar, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge UNSTOPPABLE in the 1st race, at his (Trainer Vijay Kasbekar’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (115) – THE FRIDA KAHLO PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres, Runners – 10
FIRE SPARK (Neeraj Rawal) was inclined to lug-in in during the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
An enquiry has been initiated in to the running and riding of LADY GENEREUSE and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, FIRE SPARK was found to be sound, having an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. OCEAN QUEEN, LADY GENEREUSE & ADAM’S PRINCE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (116) – THE M.D.PETIT PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres, Runners – 10
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, AL HUZZAH was examined at 1100 hours on 05/01/2011 and found to have a cut injury at the right fore hoof and was sore by that leg. As such, the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race
At the start, NER TAMID (Neeraj Rawal) hung inwards alarmingly and went across ENDLESS HORIZON (Stephane Pasquier) and caused interference to VICTORESS (Shrikant Kamble), ONLY WHITE (T.S.Jodha) and OCEAN ELEGANCE (I.Pasha). Trainer Janardhan has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly NER TAMID to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in Mock race, before next accepting to race.
ENDLESS HORIZON (Stephane Pasquier) lugged out in the straight. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ENDLESS HORIZON and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, NER TAMID was found to be sound, having a cut injury at left side oral commissure. ENDLESS HORIZON and OCEAN ELEGANCE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (117) – THE WARSAW PACT PLATE: (About) 1600 Metrrs, Runners - 8
REINSTATE (Paul Mulrennan) was restless in the stall. Further, on start, the filly walked out of the stalls losing about 4 lengths. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in her last outing, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MAGICAL MANTRA and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, WINNING TREAT was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of 8 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, REINSTATE was found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (118) – THE BAHRAIN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres, Runners – 4 – NO REPORT
RACE NO.5 (119) – THE T.M.GOCULDAS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres, Runners- 8
SHYBOY (T.S.Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to give the horse more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey Paul Mulrennan (WILD TORRONAADO) reported that his mount was slowly out of the Gates.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HIGHLAND MUSIC and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SHYBOY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, SEA TREASURE was found to have a cut injury on the tongue. HIGHLAND MUSIC and WILD TORRONAADO were found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (120) – THE M.D.PETIT PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres, Runners - 11
As the start was given, BRUNELLO (Malcolm Kharadi) tried to duck the front gates, thus losing about 2 lengths.
At the start, GLORIA (H.G.Rathod) was tightened between NATIONAL GLORY (S.A.De Sousa) and CALL TO ARMS (R.Shelar).
Jockey Imran Chisty (VIVA LA DIVA) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
NATIONAL GLORY (S.A.De Sousa) hung out and hung-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, VIVA LA DIVA was found to be sound, having an abrasion at the left hind pastern. NATIONAL GLORY was found to be sound.
RACE NO.7 (121) – THE INDIAN AIR FORCE TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres - Runners - 12
Jockey Suraj Narredu (SWEPT AWAY) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, SWEPT AWAY & PRINCE LOCHINVA were found to be sound.
RACE NO.8 (122) – THE PERCEIVED VALUE PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres - Runners - 12
At the request of Trainer P.Shroff, BESPOKE was examined at 0740 hours on 06/01/2011 and found to be sore by the right hind leg. As such, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race
PERFECT MOMENT (S.S.Baria) refused to be stalled, as such the gelding was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous outing, Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
Jockey R.Hughes (OCEANIC WISDOM) has been fined Rs.1000 for shifting in before the Red Marker.
Approaching 1200 metres, OCEANIC WISDOM (R.Hughes), who had shifted in before the Red Marker came alongside MISCHEVIOUS Z (App.M.A.Roushan) who shied away and shifted inwards and tightened CHINGARI (H.G.Rathod) who in turn tightened OCEAN PRINCESS (Vikram Jodha) on to the rails who was checked and a few strides later MISCHEVIOIUS Z lost position and inconvenienced WESTERN CHALLENGE (App.P.Trevor) who was following.
Passing 1200 metres, LYRICAL SYMPHONY (Stephane Pasquier) was steadied due to the presence of SEEN IT ALL (S.P.Ranjane) on its outside and in the process caused MAJOR WAGER (App.A.Sandesh) to shift in and caused WESTERN CHALLENGE (App.P. Trevor) who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of MISCHEVIOUS Z (App MA Roushan), to shift in and tighten CHINGARI (H.G.Rathod) on to the rails, who was checked. The incident was accidental, as such no action was initiated against any Jockey.
Jockey J.E.Pereira (LITTLE WARRIOR) reported that his mount was inclined to lug out in the straight. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, RIVER CHIEFTAIN was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, LITTLE WARRIOR was found to be sound.

The urine sample of winner of 3rd, 6th and 7th race viz. DISTANT PROMISE, NATIONAL GLORY & SILVER SANDS and the special sample of LADY GENEREUSE (1st race), ENDLESS HORIZON (2nd race), WINNING TREAT (3rd race) and SHYBOY (5th race) , were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
