RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE), LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer Vishal Gaikwad, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge BRAVE BEAUTY in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer Vishal Gaikwad’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer Zadmal Singh, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge TARZAN in the 4th race, at his own (Trainer Zadmal Singh’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1(88) – LOG ON TO PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9
On the arrival at the start Jockey Akshay Gaikwad requested to replace the surcingle on his mount SONISHA as it was broken. As such the same was replaced with the Club’s gear.
After the race on questioning, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad stated that the surcingle used on his mount was the stable equipment and not his, in view of the same it was pointed out to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi that the Jockey is required to be weighed out once again if any changes were made to the saddlery. As such he has been fined Rs.1,000/- for the lapse on his part.
Soon after the start, GANDALF (N. Nadeem) shifted in and went across CANDESCENT STAR (App. P. S. Kaviraj), who had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey S. A. Amit reported that his mount COUNT THE WINS was not galloping freely.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of CANDESCENT STAR and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, COUNT THE WINS was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(89) – THE P. D. BOLTON TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5
Trainer Rehanullah Khan declared App. A. S. Peter on his charge SHARAREH in this race, whilst he was on suspension. After questioning all concerned, App. A. S. Peter has been fined Rs.3,000/- for having accepted the ride during the period of his suspension. As such Trainer Rehanullah Khan was permitted to declare App. A. K. Aniket on his charge.
SHARAREH (App. A. K. Aniket, dr.5) took a fly jump resulting in the mare losing about 3 lengths at the start.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal reported that his mount ENID BLYTON was inclined outwards throughout the straight. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, App. Kirtish Bhagat reported that his mount ENDEAVOUR lugged out in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race. Further App. Kirtish Bhagat has been cautioned with regards to the use of the whip.
After the race, App. P. S. Kaviraj reported that this mount MAJESTIC WARRIOR lugged out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, MAJESTIC WARRIOR was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(90) – THE DANCING PRANCES PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6
QUEENS PRIDE (K. Nazil, dr.3) took a fly jump at the start.
Passing the 900 metres, FASHION ICON leaned inwards due to which QUEENS PRIDE shied in and made contact with FAITH. After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount was running green.
Approaching the 350 metres, ATAASH (C. S. Jodha) shied inwards onto BRAVE BEAUTY (S. Zervan) causing the latter to check and drop back.
Approaching the 100 metres, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (FAITH) was observed to have lost his whip this being the first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, no action has been initiated.
After the race, Jockey Akash Agarwal reported that his mount PEGASO was running green in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
Jockey K. Nazil (QUEENS PRIDE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
RACE NO.4(91) – THE YAWAR RASHID TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 9
MARIELLA (N. B. Kuldeep) jumped out throwing its head resulting in the filly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
RODRIGO (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in before passing the red marker thereby tightening MAD LOVE (P. Trevor) and SPIRIT BAY (H. Zeeshan). App. P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.
Soon after the start, PERFECT MAN (T. S. Jodha) leaned outwards due to which TARZAN (P. S. Chouhan) racing on his haunches had to be steadied.
Passing the 400 metres, RODRIGO (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted out thereby inconveniencing VIKRAMADITYA (App. Kirtish Bhagat). App. P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.
Approaching the 300 metres, LORD VADER (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have brushed the rails.
After the race, RODRIGO was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(92) – THE DR. S. C. JAIN SPRINTERS' CHAMPIONSHIP (GRADE 2): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5
Passing the 100 metres, IRON AGE (Suraj Narredu) shifted out and went across JOAQUIN (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. Jockey Suraj Narredu has been cautioned.
After the race, GAZINO was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(93) – THE N. M. IRANI TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7
At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, DIVINE HUNT was examined in the stable area at 10.30 a.m. on 13/02/2022 and was found to be sore from left hind, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
WAYIN (Bhawani Singh, dr.1) planted in the stall taking no practical part in the race. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.7(94) – THE D. W. REID PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 10
After the race, ANGELS TRUMPET was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(95) – LOG ON TO PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9
On the arrival at the start, SILVER STEPS (H. Zeeshan) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and found to be sore from right hind, as such was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under starter’s order and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, SEMINOLE (App. P. Shinde) leaned inwards onto ANOUSHKA (T. S. Jodha) thereafter SEMINOLE shifted out and made contact with FLOWER POWER (App. A. K. Aniket). App. P. Shinde has been cautioned cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, SEMINOLE (App. P. Shinde) leaned outwards and made contact with ANOUSHKA (T. S. Jodha).

The urine samples of the FAITH (winner – 3rd race), ENIGMA (winner – 5th race), IRON AGE (2nd place – 5th race) & POWER OF NEATH (winner – 8th race), and the special sample of RODRIGO (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

Jockey N. S. Parmar (MAGIC IN THE WIND) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

RACE NO.6(77) – THE SMASHER TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Run on 5th February 2022.
Jockey N. S. Parmar (NORTHERN LIGHTS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After questioning, Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount was lugging out in the straight and the whip was used as a corrective measures and the same was borne out from the race video as such no action has been initiated against Jockey. However, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RIDING OF JOCKEY T.S. JODHA ON HIS MOUNT “TREASURE GOLD” (DRAWN 5) IN RACE NO. 25 – THE FAIZ JASDANWALLA TROPHY (DIST. 2000 MTRS.) RUN ON 28TH DECEMBER 2021 :
On a complaint from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, an enquiry was initiated into the riding of Jockey T. S. Jodha on his mount TREASURE GOLD in race No. 25 – The Faiz Jasdanwalla Trophy run on 28th December 2021.
On being questioned, Trainer Bezan Chenoy stated that he had instructed Jockey T.S. Jodha to sit in the mid bunch and to do his best in the straight. He added that in his view the Jockey sat too far behind.
Race No. 25 was viewed in the presence of Jockey T.S. Jodha and it was pointed out to him that he had all the opportunity to sit up as instructed by the trainer, however, he decided to sit at the backend thus placing his mount to a disadvantage. Jockey T.S. Jodha stated that he sat behind ZARAK (Suraj Narredu) since he was the danger to the field.
Having heard the submissions made and having viewed the race in question, the Stipendiary Stewards concurred with Trainer’s view as such it was decided to suspend Jockey T. S. Jodha for one race day i.e. on 10th March 2022, for indifferent riding.
