RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS ARE PLACE 1 METRE AWAY AT 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METERS AWAY AT 1200 METERS. 4 METERS AWAY AT 1000 METERS, 6 METRES AWAT AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS ARE PLACED FROM ITS ORGINAL PONIT FROM 1600 METERS LEADING TO 1 METRE AWAY AT 1400 METRES, 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Prasanna Kumar P., permission was granted to Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain to saddle his charge PHANTOM STRIKE in the 5th race, at his own (Trainer Prasanna Kumar P.’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer B. Prithviraj, permission was granted to Trainer Nirad Karanjawala to saddle his charges ANANYA in the 1st race & MONEY FAIR in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer B. Prithviraj’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, permission was granted to Trainer Shazaan Shah to saddle his charges CORNERSTONE in the 1st race & ZEPHYR in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer P. S. Chouhan.’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (14) – THE FAIR FLIGHT PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the start, ANANYA (R. Manish, dr.5) jumped inwards and went across BALENO (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Approaching the 500 metres, ALEXANDRIA (S. Zervan) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing WHATSINANAME (K. Nazil) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, ANANYA (R. Manish) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing BALENO (Bhawani Singh) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey R. Manish has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

RACE NO.2 (15) – THE ARISTOS PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey P. Trevor, the saddle used on his mount MIRACLE OF HANUKAH was checked and re-adjusted.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, HARRISON was examined by the Club’s V.O. and was found to have a gum injury, however certified fit to race.

 

LITTLE JOHN (A. Sandesh, dr.7) was fractious in the gates. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.    

 

LITTLE JOHN (A. Sandesh, dr.7) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

Approaching the 1300 metres, MAGICAL MOMENTS (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing MIRACLE OF HANUKAH (P. Trevor) racing along the rails causing the latter to check and change course thereby carrying LITTLE JOHN outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, LUCA (App. Ritesh Gochhi) racing on the haunches of VIKING (C. S. Joda) was observed to have clipped the former and dislodged its rider. App. Ritesh Gochhi has been severely cautioned.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

LUCA was observed to have a swelling on its right stifle and injuries on its right nostril and right knee.

 

HARRISON was observed to have a gum injury.

 

VIKING was totted and found to be sound

 

RACE NO.3 (16) – THE BEJAN BHARUCHA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.3) planted and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, MOMENT OF MADNESS (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in and went across ADONIS (Bhawani Singh) causing the latter to be checked. App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (ADONIS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, MOMENT OF MADNESS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FIDATO & IMPULSIVE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (17) – THE K. M. MUNSHI CUP: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

LAND OF PLENTY (App. Ramswarup, dr.4) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts and was permitted to be withdrawn before coming under the Starters order. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

EXUMA (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) lost about a length at the start.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey A. Sandesh, the rider of GOLDEN DANCER (Placed 2nd) by the Judge against Jockey P. Trevor, the rider of TIEPOLO (Placed 1st) by the Judge. The reason being, “in the last 200 metres TIEPOLO bumped him three times unbalancing his mount, thereby losing its strides, couldn’t use the whip and lost a certain race”.

 

After considering the submissions made by both the Jockeys, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race from multiple angles and acting on their own observation of the race, the Stewards noted that the incident was accidental, decided to uphold the objection and revised the order of placing as under:-

 

GOLDEN DANCER               -    FIRST;                  EXUMA                      -    THIRD;

 

TIEPOLO                              -   SECOND;             

 

After the race, GOLDEN DANCER was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.5 (18) – THE SIR JAMSETJEE JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

JAANDAAR (P. Trevor, dr.1) lost about a length at the start.

 

Soon after the start, MENORCA (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby forcing PALOMA (Yash Narredu) inwards. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (PALOMA) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race. This being the first outing of the filly, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, App. Mustakim Alam (LUCKY DIAMOND) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. This being the first outing of the colt, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

LUCKY DIAMOND & PHANTOM STRIKE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

PALOMA was trotted at the stables and found to be sound

 

RACE NO.6 (19) – THE DR. JAGJIT SINGH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

On a request from Trainer B. Prithviraj, AR FIRST STAR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 10:00 a.m. on 4th December 2025 at the stables and was found have a painful swelling on right wither. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

SILVER STRIKE (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.5) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, STORM CLOUD (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.6) jumped inwards and, went across SILVER STRIKE (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.5) thereby bumping SUSSING (S. G. Prasad, dr.4) who further shifted in thereby forcing DANCING CLOUD (K. Nazil, dr.3) inwards who made contact with APPLAUSE (App. Bharat Singh, dr.2), thereby tightening and inconveniencing NELSON RIVER (S. Mosin) causing the latter to be checked. App. Avinash Paswan has been cautioned.

 

At the start, ZEPHYR (R. Ajinkya, dr.11) jumped outwards and made contact with LUMINOSITY (S. A. Amit, dr.9).

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (ZEPHYR) reported that his mount hung-in in the final stages of the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (ZEPHYR) reported that the saddle used on his mount had slipped during the race. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer Shazaan Shah (deputizing for Trainer P. S. Chouhan) has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards an endoscopy was performed on SILVER STRIKE at the saddling enclosure and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Gr.1).

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

ZEPHYR was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.

 

SLIVER STRIKE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (20) – THE RAJASTHAN ROYALS PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

  

ELEVEN ELEVEN was not declared to start after accepting with the filly due to late realization of medication that had been logged. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.5,000/- for his lapse and the gelding was subjected to sampling.

 

At the start, ALLEZ L’ETOILE (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.5) jumped outwards thereby carrying PRISTINE GLORY (C. S. Jodha, dr.6) outwards.

 

Soon after the start, MERCHANT OF VENICE (P. Trevor) drifted out and thereafter trailed the field. As such, Trainer Adhrajsingh Jodha has been asked to show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, ALL FOR LOVE (Yash Narredu) shifted in and went across SOUTH BEACH (N. S. Parmar) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Jockey C. S. Jodha (PRISTINE GLORY) was observed to have used the whip in excess of t he prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, MERCHANT OF VENICE was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th & 6th race, viz. CORNERSTONE, HARRISON, GOLDEN DANCER, JAANDAAR & STORM CLOUD, and the special samples of LUCKY DIAMOND (5th race) & ELEVEN ELEVEN (7h race) were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
