RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer M. Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Rajesh Narredu to saddle his charge BUBBLY BOY in the 1st race, GIANT KING & EATON SQUARE in the 3rd race, LORD FENICIA (4th race) and DIVINE HOPE (5th race), at his own (Trainer M. Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (43) – THE AMATEUR RIDERS' CLUB TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  10

 

At the start, QUEENS PRIDE (P. Vinod, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time SUPREME SPIRIT (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.7) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching the 200 metres MISTY (C. Umesh) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing INISHMORE (S. Saqlain) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey C. Umesh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BUBBLY BOY) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (OUTLANDER) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, INISHMORE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

After the race, OUTLANDER & BUBBLY BOY were trotted and found to be sound, BUBBLY BOY was observed to have bruises on right hock.

 

RACE NO.2 (44) – THE MULRAJ GOCULDAS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

Due to a mechanical failure, the starting gates did not open when the start was effected. As such, all the horses were un-stalled and the gates were tested and thereafter the horses were stalled again.

 

After the race, FLYING VISIT was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (45) – THE MAHARASHTRA, GUJARAT & GOA-AREA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS -  8

 

At the request of Jockey P. Trevor (CHAT), the girth and the surcingle were checked. Considering that the said equipment did not have any further scope to be tightened, as such, the said equipment was replaced by the Club’s gear.

 

After the race, CAPUCINE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore, as such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BUGATTI, CHAT and ALPHA DOMINO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (46) – THE JAYARAMDAS PATEL GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES –RUNNERS- 15

 

At the request of Jockey P. Trevor (METZINGER), the girth and the surcingle were checked. Considering that the said equipment did not have any further scope to be tightened, as such, the said equipment was replaced by the Club’s gear. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been severely reprimanded for the future.

 

LION KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.11) refused to be stalled, despite substantial efforts. As such, the gelding was withdrawn, before coming under the Starters order. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the starter at morning starting trials, before the next accepting to race.

 

PHENOM (N. S. Parmar) lost about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer M. K. Jadav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (PHENOM) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight and in his efforts to correct the gelding his reins slipped momentarily in the final stages of the race. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey R. Ajinkya (NOLAN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his 1st offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2023/24, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, ALOYSIA and MIGHTY THUNDER were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (47) – THE LT. COL. GOVIND SINGH (VRC) TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

JADE (C. Umesh, dr.8) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (DIVINE HOPE) reported that his mount was running green in the straight.

 

After the race, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at the stables and was found to be sore by right hind, as such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the mouth of DIVINE HOPE was examined and no abnormality was found.

 

RACE NO.6 (48) –  THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

Approaching the 1200 metres, SUPERNATURAL (P. S. Chouhan) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing RASPUTIN (S. Saqlain) along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

RACE NO.7 (49) –  THE AMATEUR RIDERS' CLUB TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

JUDY BLUE EYES (T. S. Jodha, dr.9) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

PURE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.6) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M. K. Jadav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

LORD VADER (Bhawani Singh, dr.10) stumbled as the start was effected.

 

MAYSARA (S. A. Amit, dr.3) lost its footing and stumbled as the start was effected.

 

GENEROSITY (P. Trevor, dr.2) lost its footing as the start was effected.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, GENEROSITY (P. Trevor) leaned inwards thereby tightening CIPHER (K. Nazil) causing the latter to check and drop back. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

After the race, JUDY BLUE EYES was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MAYSARA and GENEROSITY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (50) –  THE A. GEDDIS PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

DUFY (App. N. Bhosale, dr.10) took a fly jump at the start.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, MIGHTY WINGS (Amyn Merchant) shifted out and went across PRECIOSO (P. Shinde) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. S Saba (AWAY SHE GOES) reported that his mount was hanging in throughout the race, despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AWAY SHE GOES & PRINCE O’ WAR were trotted and found to be sound.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RIDING OF “ETOILE” (DRAWN 5) IN RACE NO.38 – THE FAIZ JASDANWALLA TROPHY DIV. I (DIST. 1200 METRES) RUN ON 24TH DECEMBER, 2023: 

 

The Stipendiary Stewards having questioned App. Jockey Haridas Gore in the presence of Trainer Bezan Chenoy on Wednesday, 27th December 2023 and subsequently his Master Trainer Rehanullah Khan on Friday, 29th December 2023, having heard the submissions made by all and having viewed the video of Race no.38, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Jockey Haridas Gore. In that, passing the 1000 metres he did not take the gap that was available to him and dropped back. Further, approaching the 600 metres, he shifted out and clipped the heels of OVER THE LINE (R.Ajinkya) and stumbled. Thereafter, coming into the straight, his riding was found wanting.

 

Therefore, the Stipendiary Stewards held App. Jockey Haridas Gore guilty of riding an incompetent race on his mount “ETOILE” in the above mentioned race and decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for 2 race days i.e. on 18th & 21st January, 2024 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
