RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1800 METRES UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

On a request from Trainer Sanjay Kolse, permission was granted to his Assistant, Mr.Jude Stephenson to saddle his charges SAGITTARIUS (1st race), FABIO (3rd race), DIBABA (5th race) and MANZANITA (6th race), at his own (Trainer Sanjay Kolse’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle his charge RAIN DANCE in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(69) –  THE YANA PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Negotiating the final bend, SAGITTARIUS (A.Sandesh) leaned inwards and brushed the haunches of STAR ALIGNED (S.Zervan).

 

After the race, STAR ALIGNED was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(70) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY : (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Jockey Kishore Kadam (CAVAROZZI) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey T. S. Jodha (RED CARNATION) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, RETAINED ASSET was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(71) – THE GLASNOST PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Soon after the start, DECCAN KING (N. Nadeem) was observed to have stumbled and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, COSIMO, SPONTANEOUS EDDIE and REDS REVENGE were trotted and found to be sound. COSIMO had an abrasion at both fore fetlock and SPONTANEOUS EDDIE had an abrasion at the right hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.4(72) –  THE IDAR GOLD TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Neil Darashaw, ROYAL SCEPTRE  was examined at the stables at 1740  hours on 28/08/2018 and was found to have fever and nasal discharge, as such, the horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the horse from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with him to race.

 

Jockey Y. S. Srinath (SANA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, VULCAN was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind pastern. CAPRISCA was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.5(73) –  THE GLASNOST PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

On arrival at the start, SENSEX (Akshay) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O.who certified him fit to race.

 

After the race, SNOW BLAST was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARABIAN STORM was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind tendon and fetlock.

RACE NO.6(74) – THE SPEARHEAD PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, MANZANITA (S.A.Amit, dr.9) jumped outwards on to EMOTIONLESS (P.S.Chouhan, dr.10) and thereafter further shifted out and carried EMOTIONLESS outwards, who in turn shifted out and made contact with BRAVE (App.P.S.Kaviraj).

 

Passing 900 metres MANZANITA (S.A.Amit) shifted out and made contact with BRAVE (App.P.S.Kaviraj) forcing it outwards. On being questioned after the race, Jockey S.A.Amit stated that his mount was inclined to run out despite his efforts. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.  

 

After the race, CHARMING EYES, MANZANITA and EMOTIONLESS (examined at the stables), were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ANGEL THEA had right eye injury (sore eye).

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th race, viz. FROSTED, SANA, ARABIAN STORM and ADELE, as also that of VULCAN (4th race),  and the special sample of SNOW BLAST (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
