RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

On a request from Trainer S.Mangalorkar permission was granted to Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait to saddle his charge BETHLEHEM in the 9^th race, at his (Trainer S.Mangalorkar’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(295) – THE GAME PLAN PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 4

WORD OF HONOUR (Shrikant Kamble) lugged out near 300 metres for a brief period. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, SWIFT MEMORIES, WORD OF HONOUR and STARRING were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(296) – THE R.R.KOMANDUR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12

The Sr.V.O. reported that LAZOR RAZOR was observed to be trotting sore whilst approaching the starting gate. On examination, it was confirmed that LAZOR RAZOR was sore from the right fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s Order. LAZOR RAZOR was similarly withdrawn at the starting gates in its previous race. In view of the above, LAZOR RAZOR has been stopped from racing until passed fit by the Club’s V.O. after a Mock Race.

After being stalled, Jockey P.Trevor (CAPRI) informed that the saddle on his mount had shifted as the filly played up. The filly was taken out of the stall, the saddle was adjusted and the filly was reloaded.

At the start, GOTTAWEARSHADES (Akshay) shifted out with the Jockey making no effort to control his mount and went out on to OCEAN STAR (App S.Mosin), who went on to SEEN IT ALL (App.Prasad), who went on to ASAHI (Vikram Walkar) who in turn went on to LUCKY RED (V.Chandrakant) who was inconvenienced as STARSONBOARD (App.Sandeep Jadhav) also shifted in and went across LUCKY RED. Jockey Akshay has been fined Rs.3,000/- and App.Sandeep Jadhav has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

CAPRI (P.Trevor) hung out in the final stages of the race. Trainer B.Prakash has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, ADAMS VISION was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, WILLTELL, ICE GATE and SEEN IT ALL were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(297) – THE J.P.VAZIFDAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 5

JIMBO (D.K.Ashish) took an awkward fly jump, thus losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

After the race, CATHARSIS was found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(298) –THE DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11

CAMPEON (A.Ashhad Asbar) was reluctant to reach the start. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

MAQSAD (Shrikant Kamble) was restless in the stall and was not allowing the rider to settle and took a fly jump on start. Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

The bridle on BADSHAH (S.Zervan) slipped to the right and the bit was lodged on the right cheek. As such, Trainer P.Shroff has been fined Rs.5,000/- for the lapse.

Passing 800 metres, MINT APPROACH (A.Sandesh), who was racing green, shifted in and went across BEFOREMEMORYFADES (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

In the final stages of the race, ISADORO (P.Trevor) and SHYGIRL (S.Sunil) drifted outwards under the use of the whip. Jockeys P.Trevor and S.Sunil have been cautioned.

INTESAR (Kishore Kadam) lugged out in the race. MAQSAD (Shrikant Kamble) drifted-in in the straight. Trainers H.J.Antia and M.K.Jadhav have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

After the race, CAMPEON and MINT APPROACH were found to be sound. CAMPEON had a gum injury, GIFT WRAPPED had an abrasion at the right hind pastern and INTESAR had lost its right hind plate. INTESAR was again examined at the stables on 01/04/2013 and found to be sound, but having a cut injury below the left knee.

RACE NO.5(299) – THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 8

The Sr.V.O. reported that when the saddle on LIGHT MY WAY was removed after the race, it was noticed that the gelding had an old wither gall with swelling at the wither area and the injury had freshened up due to rubbing of the saddle. As such, LIGHT MY WAY has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, NOVAK, LIGHT MY WAY and VINCERO were found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(300) – THE MAURITIUS TOURISM CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 9

REINSTATE (Shrikant Kamble) was held up for a clear run soon on entering the straight and till about 400 metres.

The saddle on CHICHARITO (Amyn Merchant) was observed to have slipped back during the race, as such, Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for allowing his charge STAR BUILDER, Placed 4^th, to be taken away from the Paddock before the All Clear was given.

After the race CHICHARITO was found to be sound, but having a bruise at the right hock and a gum injury. KISMAT and QUEEN’S CAMP were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(301) – THE TATA HOUSING TURF CHAMPIONSHIP: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 9

After the race, NADIA was found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(302) – THE DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

At the start, OSRIC (T.S.Jodha) jumped out awkwardly.

STAR BENEVOLENT (Neeraj Rawal) lugged-in in the final 300 metres and then drifted outwards as the Jockey used the whip once and hampered the running of RASHUN (Deep Shanker).

BLAZING FIRE (Imran Chisty) and ACCLAIMED (Malcolm Kharadi) kept an erratic course in the straight.

Jockey Deep Shanker (RASHUN) reported that he had to check his mount near 200 metres while racing between STAR BENEVOLENT (Neeraj Rawal) and OSRIC (T.S.Jodha) when the former changed course and shifted out.

RACE NO.9(303) – THE R.R.KOMANDUR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 13

WARRIOR PRINCE (App.Prasad) was restless in the stall and was not allowing the rider to settle who was trying to disentangle the reins and as the start was given the horse jumped out riderless. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, SNOW KING (S.P.Ranjane) jumped out awkwardly. THREE ROSES (V.Chandrakant) jumped out awkwardly and was steadied.

Jockey Akshay (ALIYANA) reported that he lost his left rein in the final 200 metres as he was trying to change the whip hand and could not regain till past the Post. Jockey Akshay has been cautioned.

ALIYANA (Akshay) lugged out for a brief period near 200 metres. SARISKA (Malcolm Kharadi) was inclined to lug out in the straight. Trainers, H.J.Antia and Nina M.Lalvani, have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

After the race, CAPITANO, WARRIOR PRINCE, THREE ROSES, MACHO UNO and SNOW KING were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 5^th, 6^th, 7^th and 9^th race viz. ROSWALD, STAR FIRE LADY, BRUNELLO, MANYATTA and ALIYANA, as also that of BLUE ACE & WINDS OF FORTUNE (7^th race) and the special sample of LIGHT MY WAY (5^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: RACE NO.8(294) – THE NIGHT CROWN PLATE (DIV.I) – RUN ON 28^TH MARCH 2013

Passing 400 metres, PURPLE MOON (Akshay) shifted in under the use of the whip and carried RIDING ONTHE STORM (Imran Chisty) inwards, who in turn jostled with ARABIAN LORD (Shammi Khan). Jockey Akshay has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

Approaching 300 metres, TAPOCOCHA (S.Sunil) shifted out and carried ATHOS (Neeraj Rawal) outwards, who carried MOUNTAIN LION (T.S.Jodha) further out, who was steadied when tightened on to TWITTILLATOR (Ishwar Pardeshi). Jockey S.Sunil has been cautioned.

Jockey N.S.Parmar (SPEED UP) reported that his mount was held up for a clear run soon on entering the straight and till about 400 metres.

PURPLE MOON (Akshay) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RE : RACE NO.286 – THE ALL BEAUTY PLATE RUN ON 24^TH MARCH, 2013 – JOCKEY SHRIKANT KAMBLE (BONGANI) – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR USING THE WHIP IN EXCESS OF THE PRESCRIBED LIMIT ON HIS MOUNT (FOURTH OFFENCE):

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 31^st March, 2013 interviewed Jockey Shrikant Kamble in the above connection and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race held him guilty of using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount and decided to deprive him of the use of the whip in races with immediate effect till the end of the Mumbai Meeting 2012/13 and for the first two race days of the Pune Meeting 2013.
