RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM 1400 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 12 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 14 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. THE 1600 METRES RACES (4TH & 7TH RACE) WERE STARTED FROM THE BACK STRETCH AND NOT FROM THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge CATHARSIS in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu‘s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Vinayak permission was granted to Trainer Suresh Chavan to saddle his charges OCEANIC WISDOM (3rd race), MOUNTAIN QUEEN & MOUNTAIN SONG (4th race) and STAR EMPIRE (5th race), at his (Trainer Vinayak‘s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Zadmal Singh, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge ROYAL CREST in the 4th race, at his (Trainer Zadmal Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Sanjay Kolse, permission was granted to Trainer Rehanullah Khan to saddle his charge GRANT PARK in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Sanjay Kolse‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (100) – THE FRIDA KAHLO PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10
ONLY FOR TIM (Akash Agarwal) began awkwardly losing ground.
Near 800 metres, ASHWA APOLLO (Nirmal Jodha) was steadied while racing behind SPLASH (Sunny Chinoy). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated in the matter.
Jockey A.Sandesh (MINUTE TO WIN IT) reported that he lost his rein near 100 metres due to which MINUTE TO WIN IT shifted in on to ITSMYWAY (App.Prabhu Naidu), who in turn went on to QUICK RETURNS (Shrikant Kamble). Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.
In the final 100 metres, QUICK RETURNS (Shrikant Kamble) shifted in and hampered the running of FREE VERSE (C.S.Jodha). Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been cautioned.
Jockey Mansoor Khan (AMAZING SMILE) has been cautioned for using the whip in his right hand while the horse was inclined to lug out in the straight.
Jockey Sunny Chinoy (SPLASH), when questioned, stated that the horse did not hold the bit and was not interested in the race and did not gallop in the race. Nevertheless, Jockey Sunny Chinoy has been cautioned for failing to ride out his mount to complete advantage in the straight.
Jockey Nirmal Jodha (ASHWA APOLLO) reported that his mount lugged in during the race, as such, Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Trainer Dallas Todywalla was questioned with regard to the poor performance of HIGHWAY EXPRESS. The Instructions were to go to the front. He gave a month between runs. He added that she is a light frame filly and did not work too well and was not looking well in the Paddock.. He said that the horse is still a maiden. He agreed that his was the only horse to beat in the race. He did not have anything more to say. An enquiry has been initiated in to the poor performance of HIGHWAY EXPRESS and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, AMAZING SMILE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the filly is not to race for the stipulated period of 8 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, HIGHWAY EXPRESS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (101) – THE CABRIOLET PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10
SET TO FLY (C.Rajendra) dwelt when the gates were released losing some ground. DÉJÀ VU (Daniel M.Grant) began awkwardly at the start.
VICTORIAN VICE (Dashratrh Singh) lugged out through out the race and near 400 metres hung out and jostled with BIZARRO (David Allan) forcing the latter to travel wide. Again near 100 metres, VICTORIAN VICE went on to HONEST PLEASURE (A.Sandesh) hampering the run of the latter. Since the filly had behaved in the similar manner earlier and her behavior in this race was considered as dangerous, Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
DÉJÀ VU (Daniel M.Grant) hung out in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
BIZARRO (David Allan) shifted ground inwards in the final 400 metres.
After the race, VICTORIAN VICE and WHITE FEATHER were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (102) – THE T.M.GOCULDAS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 6
At the start, ORITO (Dashrath Singh) fly jumped and went outwards.
Approaching 1000 metres, ORITO (Dashrath Singh) was hampered for a run when tightened as OCEANIC WISDOM (R.Hughes) shifted in. Jockey R.Hughes has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
OCEANIC WISDOM (R.Hughes) was unable to secure a clear passage from 600 metres to the 300 metres.
RACE NO.4 (103) – THE EXCLUSIVE VIRTUE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres - Runners – 8
MOUNTAIN QUEEN (V.Chandrakant) was slow to move when the gates were released, then near 150 metres shifted in when struck with the whip forcing the Jockey to stop riding and straighten his mount.
After the race, EXPELLIARMUS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (104) – THE RAO SAHEB D.K.PARKAR TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11
At the start, PHOSPHOR (Inshwar Pardeshi, dr.11) shifted in and went on to MACHO UNO (M.A.Roushan, dr.10), who in turn went on to STAR EMPIRE (R.Hughes, dr.9) who was tightened on to ANGELS PURSUIT (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) and STAR EMPIRE was steadied.
Near the 1100 metres, STAR EMPIRE (R.Hughes) was steadied to avoid the heels of GUNS N ROSES (A.Sandesh).
Near 300 metres, SILVER SCREEN (P.Trevor) shifted out and tightened ARISTOCRATIC (Samuel Fargeat) who was checked. SILVER SCREEN continued to shift out till the Post under the use of the whip. Jockey P.Trevor has been fined Rs.5000/-.
BOLD DANCER (Akshay) kept an erratic course in the final 200 metres wherein the gelding shifted in and took the running of STAR EMPIRE (R.Hughes) and then shifted out and carried STAR EMPIRE outwards, who was tightened on to ANGELS PURSUIT (Dashrath Singh). Jockey Akshay has been cautioned.
After the race, SILVER SCREEN was found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (105) – THE CABRIOLET PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10
At the start, HOT PEPPER (C.S.Jodha) jumped awkwardly outwards.
Shortly after the start MYLASTWISH (T.S.Jodha) attempted to buck.
HOT PEPPER (C.S.Jodha) lugged out in the straight and took ROYAL DESTINY (Amyn Merchant) outwards. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
RACE NO.7 (106) – THE GOLDEN TREASURE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 8
On arrival at the Starting Gates, GRANT PARK was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore from the right fore leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
BLUE MELLON (S.Sunil) was slowly out, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, MAJOR WAGER (A.Sandesh) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to SMALL TREASURE (Akshay).
The explanation of Jockey David Allan (FLYING STAR) that he held the gelding in check in the early part of the race since his Instructions were to settle the horse in 4th or 5th position, was noted.
Jockeys S.Sunil (BLUE MELLON) and A.Sandesh (MAJOR WAGER) have been fined Rs.1000/- each for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on their respective mounts.
Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor has been fined Rs.1000/- for not obtaining the Master’s written permission when he declared App.Prabhu Naidu on his charge APACHE INDIAN.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running of this race and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, FLYING STAR, APACHE INDIAN and LIGHT MY WAY were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd and 4th race, viz. BIZARRO and BRETTON WOODS and the special sample of HIGHWAY EXPRESS and AMAZING SMILE (1st race) and APACHE INDIAN and LIGHT MY WAY (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: MORNING TRACK WORK – 26TH DECEMBER, 2011:
The Sr.V.O. reported that DESTINED STAR and FLYING JEWEL were observed to have broken a blood vessel after morning track work on 26th December, 2011. Both the horses have been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.
