MUMBAI MEETING 2020/21, SECOND DAY, SUNDAY, 29th NOVEMBER, 2020

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1600 METRES UP TO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

 

On a request from Trainer Rehanullah Khan, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge HILAD in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer Rehanullah Khan’s ) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy to saddle his charge PEZULA  in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer Bezan Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(9) –THE ASTRAL FLASH PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  11   

 

PEZULA was brought into the paddock sporting a Tongue Strap. Since the same was not a declared equipment, it was removed before the filly left the paddock. Trainer Bezan Chinoy has been fined Rs.1,000/- for the lapse.

 

At the start, BRAVE (App. Aniket Karande, dr. 5) jumped outwards on to PERIWINKLE (K. Nazil, dr. 6), who in turn shifted out and made contact with ROYAL CASTLE (N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 7) who had to bee steadied.

 

PERIWINKLE (K. Nazil) was observed to shift out in the final stages of the race. After the race, Jockey K. Nazil reported that his mount tried to run out in the straight. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, MIRACULOUS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BRAVE, FALCONETTE and PEZULA were trotted and found to be sound. LUMINOSITY had lost its right hind shoe.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that BRAVE had left eye injury (mild ulcer) and ALPINE DANCER had right eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.2(10) –THE ARISTOS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  14     

 

On arrival at the start, it was observed that App. P. S. Kaviraj, the rider of BLACK CHERRY, was wearing wrong colours, as such he was provided with Emergency Colours “All Black”.

 

EXOTIQUE was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, RUDIMENTARY (P. Trevor) veered outwards and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching 500 metres, CLARK KENT (S. J. Sunil.) weakened along the rails and dropped back and in the process was tightened for room.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that RESOLUTE was declared to run with bandages on both fore legs but ran without bandages. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

After the race, SOUTHERN FRONTIER was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RESOLUTE was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ROYALTY had left eye injury (sore, lacrimation) and IT’S A DEAL had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.3(11) –THE KIARA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  11     

 

At the start, TAIMUR (Bhawani Singh, dr .2) and HEAD HONCHO (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr. 4) jumped outwards and inwards respectively inconveniencing FARAHNAAZ (J. Chinoy, dr. 3) who was drawn between them.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, SUPER GIRL (K. Nazil) leaned inwards on to TAIMUR (Bhawani Singh) who had to be checked, due to which, MAPLEWOOD (C.S. Jodha) who was racing on its haunches, had to be checked and change course. Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

Passing 400 metres, HEAD HONCHO (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in thereby tightening ACCENTURE (A. Sandesh) along the rails and forcing it to be checked and drop back due to which IRISH EYES (P. S. Chouhan) racing behind ACCENTURE had to be checked and change course. App. P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned. 

 

Passing 300 metres, TAIMUR (Bhawani Singh) was inclined outwards and passing the 200 metres shifted out thereby bumping SUPER GIRL (K. Nazil) thus starting a chain reaction due to which MAPLEWOOD (C. S. Jodha) and ARCADIA (Neeraj Rawal) lost their footing and had to be checked. After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh reported that his mount hung out despite his efforts. In view of the erratic behavior of the gelding, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures and show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with him to race.

 

After the race, TAIMUR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MAPLEWOOD had left eye injury (sore, lacrimation) and FARHANAAZ had right eye injury (mild ulcer).

 

RACE NO.4(12) –THE GRAND PASSION PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  15     

 

At the request of Trainer Sanjay Kolse, BRIANNA was examined at 1050 hours on 28/11/2020 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

MAKATI (N. B. Kuldeep) jumped out and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. In view of above Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, HISTORIAN (App. A. S. Peter, dr. 10) jumped inwards and at the same time MARTINI (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr. 7) was inclined outwards due to which RETAINED ASSET (App. Malam Singh, dr. 9) who was drawn between them had to be checked.  

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that CRISTO BOSS was declared to run with bandages on both hind legs but ran without bandages. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

After the race, SADDLE THE WIND was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(13) –THE KIARA PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  10     

 

SUMMER NIGHT (C. S. Jodha) took a fly jump thus losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Approaching 800 metres, due to a tightly packed field, TRINKET (Bhawani Singh) had be checked and steadied along the rails.

 

Approaching 300 metres, SHE IS ON FIRE (Santosh G.) was held for room and did not find a clear run.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that at the request of Trainer M. K. Jadhav, his charge PEPPOLI was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and found to be Grade-3 EIPH. The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MARRAKESH had left eye injury (sore, lacrimation).

 

RACE NO.6(14) –THE DRC CUP: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12     

 

Soon after the start, MY PRECIOUS (App. A. Prakash) shifted in on to POKERFACE (P. S. Chouhan), who in turn shifted in on to QUESTINA (A. Sandesh) forcing it to be checked. App. A. Prakash has been cautioned. 

 

After the race, QUESTINA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ANATEVKA had left eye injury (sore, lacrimation).

 

RACE NO.7(15) –THE ASTRAL FLASH PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12     

 

ALPINE EXPRESS (N. B. Kuldeep) was slow to start. After the race, Jockey N. B. Kuldeep reported that he was not ready for the start. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit a report.

 

Passing the 800 metres, TURMERIC TOWER (App. P. S. Kaviraj) and LA PEREGRINA (Dashrath Singh) were observed to have jostled. Thereafter, while negotiating the bend TURMERIC TOWER shifted out and bumped LA PAREGRINA causing it to veer outwards. App. P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.   

 

The Equine Hospital reported that LA PEREGRINA had right eye injury (mild ulcer) and ISINIT had injuries in both eyes (left eye – mild ulcer and right eye – sore).

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 6th and 7th race, viz. LUMINOUS, QUESTINA and BONAFIDE, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
