RACE DAY REPORTS

THERE WERE NO FALSE RAILS

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charges CLINTON and AQUA ARIA in the 5th and 8th race respectively, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(185) – THE NOBLE PRINCE TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, VICTORIOUS CAUSE (App.B.Nikhil, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to ANCIENT ODYESSY (C.S.Jodha).

Passing 800 metres, ST BARTS (D.S.Rathore) shifted in and caused interference to VENEZIANO (S.P.Ranjane) who lost position and while being steadied, shifted out and went on to ICE GATE (Dashrath Singh) who in turn went on to VICTORIOUS CAUSE (App.B.Nikhil). Jockey D.S.Rathore was reported to the Stewards for Careless Riding.

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey D.S.Rathore and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him.  However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for dangerous riding and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount ST BARTS. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 18th October, 2013 to 19th October, 2013 (permitted to ride work/mock race). Further, he was severely cautioned for the future.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (ICE GATE) reported that his right rein slipped at about 300 metres which he regained shortly.  

After the race, ST BARTS was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock and VICTORIOUS CAUSE had an abrasion at the right hind coronet. ONLY WHITE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(186) – THE MENORAH TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of her charge SINDBAAD. 

 

At the start, ONLY ONE (P.Trevor) was inconvenienced as SYDNEY (D.K.Ashish) shifted in, due to SINDBAAD (A.Sandesh) shifting in. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait was questioned following the poor performance of his charge INDICATION. The Trainer stated that the Instructions to Jockey S.Zervan were to judge the pace and ride the filly accordingly, if the pace is slow then to be up or else ride her from a settled position. He opined that the Jockey had handled the filly well but she has not responded. He said that he had used a Tongue Strap this time on recommendation from Jockey Dashrath Singh. To another question he stated that the filly had worked well her previous run was good. He opted to scope the filly. The explanation was noted.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that INDICATION was scoped at the Equine Hospital after sampling and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SINDBAAD was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. INDICATION and SANTA BARBARA were found to be sound

 

RACE NO.3(187) – THE  CHANGE OF LUCK TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 7 Runners

                                      

After being stalled, ADMIRAL GRAY (Dashrath Singh) reared up and sat in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ADMIRAL GRAY (Dashrath Singh) lugged out during the race. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey S.Sameer (STRIKING STORY) has been severely reprimanded for incompetent handling of his mount.

 

After the race, SAY WHEN was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and ROMEO had a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.4(188) – THE NOBLE PRINCE TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

MAGIC MELODY  (Akshay) planted and took no part in the race. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in her previous outing, Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race.

 

Near 300 metres, GOLDEN SPURS (S.P.Ranjane) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of MAMBO MAGIC (App.B.Nikhil).

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (JAIPUR GEM) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, PISTOL PACKIN MAMA was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JAIPUR GEM was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MOUNTAIN PRINCE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind hock and cannon.

 

RACE NO.5(189)  – THE  ZURBARAN TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Near 1400 metres, COMMANDER (N.S.Parmar) was tightened and lost position due to a tightly packed field.

 

Approaching 200 metres, SPIRIT OF MERCY (P.Trevor) and CENT PER CENT (C.S.Jodha) were steadied as OKAVANGO (D.K.Ashish) shied away due to the presence BLUE ACE (A Sandesh) on its outside and shifted in and went across both the horses.

INVICTUS (Neeraj Rawal) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, OKAVANGO was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BLUE ACE was observed to have a cut injury at the left nostril and COMMANDER had a cut injury at the left fore fetlock. CENT PER CENT was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(190) – THE  WARSAW PACT TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, SO TRUE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. The mare was checked at the stable after sampling for soundness and found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, AUGUSTUS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(191) – THE  SIGNATURE PREMIER INDIAN ST.LEGER (GR.I): (About) 2800 Metres – 7 Runners

 

BORSALINO (Dashrath Singh) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

BORSALINO (Dashrath Singh) drifted outwards passing the 2200 metres and travelled wide.

 

Approaching 400 metres, TINTINNABULATION (P.S.Chouhan) was steadied for a few strides as BORSALINO (Dashrath Singh) shifted in due to AN ACQUIRED TASTE (A.Sandesh) shifting in. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

Jockey A.Sandesh (AN ACQUIRED TASTE) has been cautioned for unnecessary use of the whip on his mount.

 

After the race, BORSALINO was observed to have a bruise on the right hind pastern.

 

RODEO (C.S.Jodha) was placed fifth and BORSALINO (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race

 

RACE NO.8(192) – THE  PELICAN TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners

 

AVENTADOR (Nirmal Jodha) was restless in the stall. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

AQUA ARIA (J.Chinoy) was slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey P.S.Chouhan (STAR BENEVOLENT) reported that his mount ran green.

 

Jockey J.E.Pereira (WAR PRINCESS) reported that his mount ran erratic during the race. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that WAR PRINCESS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (BRAZIL) reported that his mount lugged-in through out the race. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, VICTORIA FALLS was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right fore cannon.  AVENTADOR was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(193) – THE  SWIFT MEMORIES TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer B.Prakash, JOSEPHINE was examined at 0930 hours on 29/09/2013 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg,  as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, SHABDEEZ (A.Ashhad Asbar) was tightened and lost ground.

 

Near 500 metres, TITLEIST (Dashrath Singh) was tightened and steadied as ENCORE (N.S.Parmar) shifted in. Jockey N.S.Parmar has been cautioned.

Jockey Kavraj Singh (ALBUURZ) reported loss of his whip about 50 metres from the Winning Post.

 

After the race, THEOLOGY and IN THE LIMELIGHT were found to be sore by the right fore leg and left fore leg respectively. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MOUNTAIN MYNAH, PURPLE PATCH and SHABDEEZ were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th and 9th race viz. HAIL THE KING, ROMEO, MOUNTAIN PRINCE, AN ACQUIRED TASTE and IN THE LIMELIGHT, as also that of TINTINNABULATION, WIND STREAM and ROSWALD (7th race), and the special sample of JAIPUR GEM (4th race) and SO TRUE (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
