RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 1.5 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TILL 400 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee, to saddle his charges FLAMING ARROW (4th race), LIGHT MY WAY (7th race) and STAR SYMPHONY, STARRY GLOW & WARRIOR PRINCE (8th race), at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1. (106) THE MOUNT ROSE PLATE  - DIVISION II:   (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 8

 

Trainer Janardhan has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge HALO OF FAME to race without obtaining a certificate to start in a race from the Starter. The horse was struck out.

   

At the start, CHINGARI (Ladjadj Stephane) lost its footing and stumbled. NURAI (CS Jodha) jumped out throwing her head up.

 

At the start, CHINGARI (Ladjadj Stephane) was tightened due to TOMORROWS DREAMS (I Shaikh) jumping out awkwardly and shifting in.

 

While inquiring into the comparative performance of DANCING MONEY, Trainer DJ Surti and Jockey Zameer Sayyed were questioned for the running and riding of the filly in the previous race i.e. Race No 71. Trainer Surti stated that the previous race was run over 1000 metres and the filly had received interference and lost position and the filly came on well in the final 200 metres and this time the filly was running 200 metres more which benefited her. The Trainer added that his instructions have been the same, i.e. to take a good jump and do his best. He added that today the filly ran on the Monsoon Track which has suited her and also he claimed 5 kg allowance. The explanation by the Trainer was noted.

 

RACE NO 2. (107) THE MOUNT ROSE PLATE  - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners - 9

 

At the start, TORCELLO (D.K.Ashish) shifted in and tightened MACHO UNO (S.Sunil), who went in on to FEMENIST (CS Jodha), who in turn made contact with BLAZING SPEED (S.P.Ranjane). Jockey DK Ashish has been fined Rs. 3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Near 900 metres, SEA BUCANEER (App P Trevor) shifted in and went across SILVER SCREEN (Ladjadj Stephane) who was checked from its rightful running. App P Trevor has been fined Rs. 2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockey A Imran Khan (CONFEDERATION) has been cautioned for using his whip with excessive force.

 

After the race, SEA BUCANEER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 3. (108) THE NATURAL CRAZE PLATE  - DIVISION II: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 9

 

Near 1200 metres, GOLDEN ORRA (Shrikant Kamble) was tightened while racing on the inside of HI DOLLY (Zameer Sayyed) and lost his position.

 

Jockey Zameer Sayyed (HI DOLLY) reported that his reins slipped near 200 metres which he regained shortly.

 

Jockey Zameer Sayyed (HI DOLLY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for improper use of the whip.

 

After the race, GIMME HOPE was found to be sore by the left hind leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 4. (109) THE DR. S. R. CAPTAIN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners -6

 

An enquiry has been initiated in to the running and riding of TALK OF THE TOWN and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, LYRICAL LASS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WILD TORRONAADO was found to be sound having a gum injury and TALK OF THE TOWN had a cut injury on the left fore cannon.

 

RACE NO 5. (110) THE SUPER HERO PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres.  Runners - 9

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (SADDLER’S RULE) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to drift outwards in the straight and race on the Main track.

 

After the race, ARBUDH and DESERT DYNAMITE were found to be sore by their left fore leg. Both the horses will have to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FLOODS OF FORTUNE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 6.(111)THE LEGAL STEPS PLATE  - DIV II: (About)1000 Metres.Runners-10

 

At the request of Trainer Vijay Kasbekar, DOCTOR NO was examined at 1000 hours on 29/08/2010 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

ARABIAN DIAMOND (Towfeeq Shaikh) was fractious and refused to be stalled despite of all efforts, as such, the mare was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s Order. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to show his charge in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the starter before next accepting to race.

TRUE ELEGANCE (V.Chandrakant) took a fly jump and lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, STUD OF GOLD and ARABIAN DIAMOND were found to be sound. UPROAR had a cut injury on the left hock.

 

RACE NO 7.(112)THE SAARRTHI MAIDEN MILLION: (About)1400 Metres. Runners-11

 

RAIN FOREST (Neeraj Rawal) was fractious and refused to be stalled despite all efforts, as such, the colt was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s Order. DANCING DAME (Suraj Narredu) was fractious and reluctant to be stalled. The filly has behaved in the similar manner in her previous outing. MONEYBAGS (S Sunil) jumped out slowly and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop and lost about a distance at the start. As such, Trainers Nana Raghunath, Imtiaz A Sait and Anil Kumar have been asked show their respective charges in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

Near 1000 metres, LIGHT MY FIRE (YS Srinath) was steadied and lost position.

 

Near 600 metres, BLACKJACK (P Kamlesh) raced keenly and as the filly was being settled, she shifted in and made contact with SUPREME FORCE (A Imran Khan) and ricocheted outwards and inconvenienced ASHWA PARWEZ (M Narredu).

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (C’EST LA VIE) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out near 300 metres, and going across OCEAN STORM (DK Ashish). 

 

After the race, OCEAN PRINCESS was found to have abrasion on the right hind cannon.

 

OCEAN STORM (D.K.Ashish) was placed fifth and C’EST LA VIE (Imran Chisty) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO 8. (113) THE PRINCIPAL DIRECTOR DE, SC TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 15

 

FALLEN ANGEL (App A Sandesh) and SUPER FAST (Shrikant Kamble) were reluctant to reach the Starting Gates. Trainers Rehanullah Khan and Narendra Lagad have been asked to school their respective charges to reach the Starting Gates in time.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (STAR VISION) reported that he lost his right stirrup iron at the start and lost his balance and in trying to regain his balance and the stirrup, the saddle slipped sideways.

 

At the start, STAR SYMPHONY (R Shelar) threw its head up.

 

At the start, STERLING SILVER (Imran Chisty) lugged out. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

At the start, MARIGOLD (AM Tograllu) drifted out despite Jockey’s effort and jostled with STAR VISION (Amyn Merchant) who in turn caused FALLEN ANGEL (App A Sandesh) to travel wide. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Near 900 metres, OCEAN LEGACY (Suraj Narredu) shifted in and caused MARIGOLD (AM Tograllu) to shift in, who carried STARRY GLOW (JE Pereira) inwards and caused interference to TAMARAI (NS Parmar). Jockey Suraj Narredu has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockey NS Parmar (TAMARAI) reported loss of whip near 200 metres. The Jockey explained that the whip slipped out of his hands.

 

STARRY GLOW (JE Pereira) hung out soon after the start. Trainer CD Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, STAR LADY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VICTORESS was found to be going short by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MARIGOLD was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 9. (114) THE NATURAL CRAZE PLATE  - DIVISION I: (About) 1400 Metres.   Runners - 10

 

PURE DEVOTION (M Narredu) was reluctant to proceed to the Starting Gates and also to be stalled. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to school his charge to proceed to the gates during a Mock race and also show him to the satisfaction of the Starter during morning trials before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 800 metres, MUSICAL RHYTHM (CS Jodha) was steadied while racing behind PURE DEVOTION (M Narredu).

 

Jockey P Kamlesh (CULCRIEFF) has been cautioned for using his whip with excessive force.

 

After the race, CHOCOLATE was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 10. (115) THE LEGAL STEPS PLATE  - DIVISION I :(About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 12

 

SEPIA TONE (App Kavraj Singh) reared up as the start was effected thereby losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Magansingh P Jodha has been asked to give the mare more Gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, HIGHLAND WARRIOR (App P Trevor) and TEASE ME (V Chandrakant) jumped out awkwardly.

 

At the start, HAMMERHEAD (App MA Roushan) drifted out and jostled with WALKING TALL (S Zervan) who went on to MCQUEEN (T Atul) who in turn caused interference to BLUE DAFFODILS (C Chowgule). App MA Roushan explained that the right rein got unfastened from the bit and he had no right rein throughout the race and therefore he had no control over his mount and his mount had travelled wide negotiating the bend and also in the straight. The examination of the equipment revealed that it was in serviceable condition. After questioning Trainer Faisal A Abbas and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, he has been fined Rs.2000/-.

 

After the race, SILVER SOUL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HAMMERHEAD was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd, 5th, 7th and 10 race viz. WINGS OF ANGELS, TARA, BLACKJACK and HIGHLAND WARRIOR and also that ELIZABETH & LIGHT MY WAY (7th race) and the special sample of CONFEDERATION & SEA BUCANEER (2nd race), LYRICAL LASS (4th race) & SILVER SOUL (10th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM JOCKEY LADJADJ STEPHANE IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 29/08/2010 UP TO THE END OF THE PUNE MEETING 2010 FOR FOUL RIDING ON HIS MOUNT TEQUILA IN RACE NO.37 – THE HURRICANE PLATE RUN ON SUNDAY, 1ST AUGUST, 2010 – THE BOARD OF APPEAL HAD GRANTED A STAY ON THE PUNISHMENT TILL 29/08/2010 :

 

The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 29th August, 2010 considered all documents and papers that were submitted and heard the submissions made by Jockey Ladjadj Stephane and his Spokesman Mr.Narendra Lagad and viewed the video recording of the incident (all angles – normal as well as slow motion) as also the blow up of the incident. The Board of Appeal deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds, decided to reject his Appeal and forfeit his deposit. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards stand. It was clarified to Jockey Ladjadj Stephane that since his Jockey’s license is valid up to 13th September, 2010, his Jockey’s license shall now stand suspended w.e.f. 30th August, 2010 to 13th September, 2010. Thereafter, should he apply for a Jockey’s license, the same shall not be granted to him up to the end of the Pune Meeting 2010.
