RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES , 6 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. WHITESOX (1st race), NIGHT OF STARS (4th race), SWEET AS HONEY & YODHA SHAKTI (7th race) at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges SHIVALIK SHOWERS (6th race) and MELINDA (8th race), at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Nazak Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Bezan Chenoy to saddle her charge SOFIA (2nd race) at her (Trainer Nazak Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(291) - THE KAZAKH PLATE: (About)1000 Metres. Runners – 13
At the start, SPEAR OF TRIUM (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.8) jumped awkwardly inward and went on to BLACKBEAN (A.Sandesh, dr.7).
Soon after start PURE BLISS (P.Trevor) shifted in due to BLACKBEAN (A.Sandesh) shifting in at that stage, and in turn hampered the running of the GUNS N ROSES (Kishore Kadam). Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (TRUE HEIR) reported that his mount lugged out while negotiating the final bend. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, WHITESOX was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. BIG BANG, TRUE HEIR (examined on 30/03/2015) and BLAZING FIRE (examined on 30/03/2015) were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(292) – THE ATMOSPHERE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 13
At the start, ADMINISTRATE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with DANNY BOY (Anil Baandal, dr.7) after which ADMINISTRATE ricocheted inwards and was awkwardly placed behind the heels of ROCKING (P.Trevor, dr.5) and was steadied.
ALLEGIANCE (I.Pasha), who was travelling wide in the straight, commenced to shift in under the use of the whip and went across the track and hampered the running of DANNY BOY (Anil Baandal). Jockey I.Pasha has been fined Rs.2,000/- for Improper use of the whip.
App.S.J.Sunil (UKELELE, dr.12) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and going across the field on his inside.
ROMANTIC BEAUTY (Amyn Merchant) lugged in during the race. Trainer S.Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
An objection was lodged by Jockey A.Sandesh, rider of IRIDESCENCE (Placed Third) against UKULELE (App.S.J.Sunil, Placed First). The reason being, in the last 150 metres, UKULELE rolled on to him when he was ahead of the filly by a neck, due to which he had to check his mount, which cost him a certain race.
After considering the submissions made by Jockey A.Sandesh and App.S.J.Sunil, who was accompanied by his Master Sanjay Kolse, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.
The Sr.V.O. reported that during the race, GOLDSTORM stumbled before the winning post and stopped. On examination, the filly was found to have broken its right fore fetlock, hence she was euthanized on humane grounds.
After the race, ROMANTIC BEAUTY was found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(293) – THE COMMANCHE DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 7
CONGRESSIONAL (App.Santosh G) raced in a restricted room between 1200 metres and 900 metres.
The Sr.V.O. reported that DESERT WINGS was examined at the stables in the morning on 30/03/2015 and was found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(294) – THE MULRAJ GOCULDAS TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 6
At the start, WAJOOD (Dashrath Singh) jumped awkwardly inwards.
After the race, WAJOOD and BOLD APPEAL were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(295) – THE J. P. VAZIFDAR TROPHY (DIV.II):(About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 12
After being stalled, WAR MACHINE (C.S.Jodha) rushed the front gates due to which the rider got injured and was unable to ride. As such, WAR MACHINE was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start QUATRO (I.Pasha) jumped out awkwardly. LOGANO (A.M.Tograllu, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and jostled with CAPTAIN ABDON (D.K.Ashish, dr.4).
Soon after the start, LOGANO (A.M.Tograllu) shifted in on to OCEAN STAR (J.Chinoy) due to ICE GATE (App.S.J.Sunil) shifting in suddenly at that stage. As a result, OCEAN STAR (J.Chinoy) was steadied and in turn hampered the running of FAJR (App.S.Joseph).
Near 700 metres, LIGHT FORCE (App.R.Ajinkya) put in an awkward stride and was unbalanced and lost position.
Passing 400 metres, Jockey I.Pasha (QUATRO) lost his rein momentarily.
Jockey A.M.Tograllu (LOGANO) reported the loss of whip at about 100 metres from the winning post.
Jockey I.Pasha (QUATRO) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
Trainer S.K.Sunderji was questioned regarding the poor performance of ACT OF VALOUR. He said that the horse had performed poorly possible since he had run too soon i.e. in ten days time and also the horse may have not enjoyed the heat. He said that he was laying the horse off for the season. The explanation was noted.
LOGANO (A.M.Tograllu) lugged-in throughout the race, more so in straight whereby the Jockey was observed to have used his whip in excess as a corrective measure. Tr.Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Jockey D.K.Ashish (CAPTAIN ABDON) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This is being his third offence with regard to the use of the whip during the current Mumbai Meeting 2014/15, his Jockey License has been suspended w.e.f. 18th April 2015 to 19th April 2015 (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).
After the race, LOGANO, ACT OF VALOUR and LIGHT FORCE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(296) -THE R.W.I.T.C. LTD. TURF CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3):(About) 1800 Metres. Runners– 6
Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge SPREADEAGLE whilst the gelding was under Starters’ Ban. The gelding was struck out at the Acceptance Stage.
The saddle on AUTHENTIC (App.Yash Narredu) was observed to have slipped back during the race. As such, Trainer Rajesh Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey Darren Williams (ALAINDAIR) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, AUTHENTIC was found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(297) - THE JAYANT M. SHAH PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners -14
QUANDO QUANDO (App.Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, SINDBAAD (App.G.Amit, dr.4) shifted in and took the running of ZANA (App.Santosh G, dr.3) who clipped the heels of the former and stumbled. App.G.Amit has been severely reprimanded.
SWEET AS HONEY (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in throughout the race and near 300 metres shifted in and went on to SINDBAAD (App.G.Amit) who in turn went on to VENI VIDI VICI (Vikram Jodha). Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the filly.
ANCIENT TREASURE (App.S Joseph) lugged out while negotiating the bend. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the horse.
RAPID GIRL (S.Zervan) lugged-out throughout the race. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, STAYING ALIVE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SWEET AS HONEY was found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(298) – THE J. P. VAZIFDAR TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 14
RICHOCHET (N.Rawal) jumped out slow, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ZURICH (App.Yash Narredu, dr.6) ducked out and jostled with TAHRIR (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.7), who in turn jostled with ICE AFFAIR (App.R.Ajinkya, dr.8).
At the start, ADVANCE TO CONTACT (P.Trevor, dr.11) shifted in despite the Jockey’s effort and carried PRAELECTOR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10) inwards.
App.Yash Narredu (ZURICH) reported that his mount ran erratic in the straight. The Sr. VO reported that after the race, ZURICH was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, STARRY OCEAN was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, ICE AFFAIR and PRETTY IN PATPONG were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd, 3rd, 6th & 7th race, viz. UKULELE, SIMPLY SWEET, SHIVALIK SHOWERS & ZANA, as also that of TATIANA & ALAINDAIR (6th race), and the special sample of ZURICH (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE : RACE NO.285 – THE JEHAN NUMA PLATE RUN ON THURSDAY, 26TH MARCH, 2015 :
The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer Asad Siddiqui, ZANTHOS was scoped after the race at the Equine Hospital and reported to be having EIPH (Grade III). The gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RE: RACE NO 285: THE JEHAN NUMA PLATE RUN ON 26TH MARCH 2015
Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.10,000/- for Injudicious riding on his mount in the straight as the Jockey was observed not to have taken a gap on his outside passing 400 metres and instead the Jockey chose to shift in and found himself with no room to ride out his mount, despite which ROCK THE TURF finished fourth.

RE: RACE NO 290: THE DW REID PLATE –DIV-I RUN ON 26TH MARCH 2015
Jockey S Sameer was questioned regarding the running and riding of RECKLESS in the above race. The Jockey was observed not to have ridden out his mount to complete advantage. Not being satisfied with the explanation of the Jockey, his Jockey’s License has been suspended for 12th April 2015.

RE : CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS REPORT IN RESPECT OF gr f “GREY MIST” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.172 – THE ROYAL CHALLENGE CUP (DIV.II) RUN ON 1ST FEBRUARY, 2015 :
The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 29th March, 2015 interviewed Tr.M.K.Jadhav regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 26th March, 2015 from LCH, France, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge GREY MIST (Winner) in Race No.172 – The Royal Challenge Cup (Div.II) run on Sunday, 1st February, 2015, which read as under:-
“…..It is hereby confirmed that the sample, which has been analysed as set out above, contains O-DESMETHYLVENLAFAXINE”.
A copy of the above report was handed over to Trainer M.K.Jadhav and he was asked to continue his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when required.
Further, as per the Medication Rules, the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify GREY MIST (Winner) in Race No.172 – The Royal Challenge Cup (Div.II) run on Sunday, 1st February, 2015 and to revise the order of placing of the race as under :-.
