RAILS WERE PLACED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 3 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1 (173) – THE JOCKEYS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the start, RISE ALL STARS (S. G. Prasad, dr.5) jumped outwards, at the same time ARBITRAGE (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, ASHWA ALMATY (App. S. Siddharth, dr.2) jumped outwards and made contact with BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.3) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, JET TYPHOON (App. Bharat Singh) shifted in and went across BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to be steadied. After the race, App. Bharat Singh reported that his mount was lugging in and not galloping fluently. As such, the gelding was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

ASHWA ALMATY, RISE ALL STARS & MOMENT OF MADNESS were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (174) – THE OWNERS' TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

On a request from Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi, ASHWA BRAZIL was examined by the Club’s Chief V.O. at 11:05 p.m. on 28th March 2026 at the stables and was found to have colic. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

LAND OF PLENTY (A. Prakash, dr.2) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, EAGLE DAY (P. Trevor, dr.11) was fractious. As such, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning staring trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SHIRSA (S. G. Prasad, dr.7) lost about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, SHIRSA (S. G. Prasad) shifted out onto DON JULIO (Prashant P. Dhebe) who in turn shifted out at the same time EAGLE DAY (P. Trevor) leaned in thereby bumping and tightening TYRANNUS (Neeraj Rawal) racing between them. Jockey’s S. G. Prasad and P. Trevor have been severely cautioned.

 

Jockey A. Sandesh (SENECA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being the second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (EAGLE DAY) reported that his saddle slipped in the final stages of the race. This being the second instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

EMPEROR RODERIC was examined and found to be sore by right fore. As such, the horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

WIND DANCER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

ROSARIO was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.3 (175) – THE JIMMY BHARUCHA SALVER: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

 

On a request from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, TAAQATH was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:20 a.m. on 28th March 2026 at the stables and was found to be trotting stiff and feeling both its fore shins. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race and withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

After being stalled, JAANDAAR (Vivek G., dr.7) was fractious. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ROMANOS (A. Sandesh, dr.5) lost about a length at the start.

 

Soon after the start, DAVID (A. Prakash) shifted in and went across RAINBOW CONNECTION (S. Zervan) causing the latter to clip the former and stumble. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey A. Prakash has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 300 metres, ROMANOS (A. Sandesh) was observed to have lost its footing and leaned out thereby bumping, tightening and inconveniencing DAVID (A. Prakash) causing the latter to be checked. After the race, gelding was subject to veterinary examination and was found to be sore by left hind. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 250 metres, HAVOC (T. S. Jodha) veered in and went across BLUE JET (Yash Narredu) thereafter BLUE JET shifted out thereby bumping and tightening LEMPIKA (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey T. S. Jodha fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (BLUE JET) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. G. Prasad (LATIOS) reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

STORM MAJESTY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

JAANDAAR was observed to have a cut injury on its left hind cannon.

 

LATIOS, LEMPIKA & PURE SOUL were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (176) – THE RACING OFFICIALS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 14

 

Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.500/- for failing to take the prior permission to use a Red Hood on his charge CRYSTAL CLEAR.

 

During saddling, BRAVO ZULU reared up, flipped over and brushed her right hindquarter. Subsequently, the filly was examined by the Club’s Chief V.O. at the saddling enclosure as also on arrival at the starting gates, was found to be sound and certified fit to race.

 

At the start, JURACAN (P. Trevor, dr.12) planted, lost considerable ground and trailed the field. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, RENAISSANCE (Vivek G., dr.2) planted and lost considerable ground. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, DEDICATION (S. Zervan, dr.5) jumped inwards and went across STARBUSTER (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) who was marginally slow to begin thereafter DEDICATION further shifted in and went across CARADOC (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) at the same time ALLEZ L’ETOILE (App. Bharat Singh, dr.1) shifted out and they made contact.

 

At the start, INTERCEPTOR (Yash Narredu, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact with ASHWA GYPSY (S. A. Amit, dr.7) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, INTERCEPTOR (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening DEDICATION (S. Zervan) racing on its haunches causing the latter to be checked. Jockey Yash Narredu has been severely cautioned.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, INTERCEPTOR (Yash Narredu) shifted in under pressure thereby carrying ALLEZ L’ETOILE (App. Bharat Singh) inwards who further shifted in and went across TROPICAL PARADISE (N. S. Parmar) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, App. Bharat Singh (ALLEZ L’ETOILE) reported that his mount was hanging in- in the stright, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following

 

BRAVO ZULU, ALLEZ L’ETOILE & RENAISSANCE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

INTERCEPTOR was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its right hind hock. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, the gelding was scoped at the Equine Hospital and was found to have EIPH (Gr.I).

 

At the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, BRAVO ZULU was scoped at the Equine Hospital and no abnormality was detected.

 

RACE NO.5 (177) – THE DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12 

 

At the start, AZAADI (Mukesh Kumar, dr.12) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, RED LIGHTNING (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact with RINELLA (A. Sandesh, dr.7), causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, SEIZE THE GREY (K. Sai Kiran) shifted in thereby carrying RINELLA (A. Sandesh) inwards, thereafter PINNACLE (Yash Narredu) leaned in onto SEIZE THE GREY (K. Sai Kiran) who further shifted in and went across RINELLA causing the latter to be checked. Jockey’s K. Sai Kiran and Yash Narredu have been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (RINELLA) reported that his mount was running green and was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Yash Narredu (PINNACLE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence during the current Mumbai meeting 2025/26, his Jockey’s licence has been suspended for two race days i.e. should he apply for a Jockey’s licence for the Racing Season 2026/27 and if the same is granted to him, his licence shall stand suspended on first two race days of Pune Meeting 2026, dates of which will be intimated to in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

BRAVION & SEIZE THE GREY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RINELLA was examined and no abnormality was found.

 

RACE NO.6 (178) – THE HYDERABAD RACE CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

Soon after the start, DREAM SELLER (App. S. Siddharth) shifted in and went across FIGHTON (Prashant P. Dhebe). App. S. Siddharth has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. S. Siddharth (DREAM SELLER) reported that his saddle slipped soon after the start. This being second instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, App. Aditya Waydande (ESPERANZA) reported that his saddle shifted in front soon after the start. This being third instance of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.10,000/-.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

ESPERANZA was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.7 (179) – THE TRAINERS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 8

 

On a request from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, BEZALEL was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 04:55 p.m. on 26th March 2026 at the stables and was found be sore by left hind. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, LUCIO (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.2) tried to duck the front gate due to which its bridle came off, which was subsequently put back, which caused delay in the start of the race. As such, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (S. A. Amit, dr.6) lost about four lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start MAJESTIC WARRIOR (App. Bharat Singh, dr.1) jumped inwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which LUCIO (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.2) and UNDERCOVER (A. Sandesh, dr.3) were inconvenienced and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, UNDERCOVER (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing LUCIO (App. Aditya Waydande) racing on its haunches. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY (S. A. Amit) was observed to have trailed the field. As such, Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

Jockey D. R. Shubham (SPOTLIGHT) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

BAKLAVA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (180) – THE SION F. NESSIM PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, RED MERLOT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:30 a.m. on 27th March 2026 at the stables and was found to be sore by right fore with a swelling on the right fore fetlock joint. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MAJESTICUS (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.1) jumped out awkwardly.

 

BLUE’S PRIDE (D. R. Shubham) was observed to have trailed the field. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:

 

After passing the winning post, MAJESTICUS showed signs of distress. Accordingly emergency first aid treatment was given and the gelding was sent to the Equine Hospital for further treatment.

 

MULAN & BLUE’S PRIDE were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th race, viz. PINNACLE, SOCIAL BUTTERFLY, UNDERCOVER & AEON FLUX and the special samples of STORM MAJESTY (3rd race) & MULAN (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “ANGELISA” (DRAWN 2) RUN IN RACE NO.153 THE FORBES BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.III) ON 15TH MARCH 2026:

 

In connection with the above subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 29th March 2026, having heard the submissions made by Jockey Vivek G., Trainer P. Shroff, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race in question and having deliberated in the matter at length. The Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Vivek G. In that, passing the 400 metres, he had sufficient room on the inside, despite which he pulled his mount out, thereafter approaching the 300 metres, he had sufficient room between VORTEX and MENORCA despite which he further went wide thereby losing ground thus placing his mount at a disadvantage. Therefore, it was decided to suspend Jockey’s licence of Mr. Vivek G. for two race days i.e. should he apply for a Jockey’s licence for the Racing Season 2026/27 and if the same is granted to him, his licence shall stand suspended on first two race days of Pune Meeting 2026, dates of which will be intimated in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race) for riding an incompetent race.
