RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer CD Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer  Adil Dajee to saddle his charges MOVE IN TIME, MADE TO MEASURE & HIMALAYAN QUEEN in the 4TH, 6TH & 7TH races respectively, at his (Trainer CD Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer P Shroff to saddle his charges CARUSO & FIBONACCI SEQUENCE in the 3rd & 6TH races respectively, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

 

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P Jodha viz. BONOBO, CACTUS CASH, MT TIANAMEN & WHITESOX in the 1ST, 3RD, 4TH & 8TH races respectively, at his (Trainer Magansingh P Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1. (88) THE WHITE METAL PLATE (About) 2400 Metres.   Runners - 4

 

AZADEGAN (S Sunil) hung-in in the straight and the Jockey was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Since the use of whip was used it as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BONOBO and AZADEGAN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 2. (89) THE KHEEM SINGH GOLD CUP (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -6

 

GERONIMO (P Trevor) lugged in and PHOENIX FIRE (Colm O’Donoghue) lugged out in the straight. Trainers SK Sunderji & Bezan Chenoy have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charges before next accepting to race them.   

 

Near 400 metres, GABRIELLA (S Zervan) commenced to lug out, and then hung out further and finished racing along the outer rails and in the process of controlling his mount, the bit slipped to the right side. Trainer P Shroff has been asked to take remedial before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, GABRIELLA was examined and was found to be sound, having a cut injury on the right hock.

 

RACE NO 3. (90) THE JASDANWALLA GOLD TROPHY (About) 1600 Metres. Runners -8

 

WENTWORTH (CS Jodha) leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.   

 

After the race, App Yash Narredu (SUPERLICIOUS) and also Trainer M Narredu lodged a verbal complaint that the interference caused to SUPERLICIOUS soon after the start by Jockey A Sandesh (DOC HOLLIDAY) was deliberate. Whilst enquiring into the incident, it was observed that soon after the start, THE BIG BULL (S Zervan) was steadied due to slow pace due to which DOC HOLLIDAY (A Sandesh) shifted in and tightened SUPERLICIOUS (App Yash Narredu) and near 1400 metres, CACTUS CASH (Neeraj Rawal) slowed down due to which DOC HOLLIDAY again shifted in and tightened SUPERLICIOUS. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated in the matter.

 

After the race, CARUSO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WENTWORTH was found to have a cut injury on left hind tendon.

 

 

RACE NO 4. (91) THE JEHANGIR P DUBASH TROPHY  - DIVISION I (About) 1000 Metres. Runners -15

 

At the start, SKYJET (App Bhawani Singh, dr.5) and TRUMP TOWER (Akshay, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly.

 

BLUE BAY (DK Ashish) shifted in before the Red Marker despite Jockey’s effort and in the process went across CHASE THE ACE (P Trevor) who was checked. Trainer MK Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the rig.

 

Near 800 metres, BLUE FLAME (SG Prasad) clipped the heels of AS GOOD AS GOLD (A Sandesh) and stumbled.

 

Jockey Colm O’Donoghue (ARTISTE) when questioned stated that his Instructions were to be well up but the filly did not show any speed in the early part and also was carrying 61 kg and she struggled through out the race. He opined that the filly may race well with some weight off her back. He further added that he had not worked the filly and had ridden her for the first time in a race. The explanation was noted.  

 

After the race, BLUE BAY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The rig has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

ARTISTE was examined in the stables on 29/12/2014 and was found to be sound.

After the race, ANCIENT TREASURE & NAUGHTY FORTY were examined and were found to be sound.

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of ANCIENT TREASURE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO 5. (92) THE JEWEL ROYALS MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GRADE 2)(About) 1800 Metres. Runners -5

 

KEUKENHOF (Dashrath Singh) lugged in in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO 6. (93) THE DAMODARDAS C SHAH TROPHY (About) 1400 Metres. Runners -8

 

At the request of Trainer SS Shah, BORN TO WIN was examined at 1030 hours on 28/12/2014 and was found to be sore by left-fore leg as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, MADE TO MEASURE (App Yash Narredu) was inconvenienced and steadied as FIBONACCI SEQUENCE (DK Ashish) shifted inwards. Jockey DK Ashish has been cautioned.

 

Near 800 metres, ESSENCE OF LOVE (SG Prasad) was eased off the heels of RUBENS (I Pasha) and again near 600 metres, was steadied off the heels of SHAUGHNESSY (Sandeep Jadhav). 

 

MADE TO MEASURE was examined in the stables on 29/12/2014 and was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 7. (94) THE SQUANDERER DOUBLE STAKES  (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 12

 

Soon on straightening for home, FLANKER (P Trevor) drifted out and went on to KAZURI (DK Ashish) who went on to HIMALAYAN QUEEN (Dashrath Singh) who in turn went out on to ARRETE (App Bhawani Singh).

 

After the race, KAZURI was examined and was found to be sound. HIMALAYAN QUEEN was found to be sound, having as abrasion on the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO 8. (95) THE JEHANGIR P DUBASH TROPHY  - DIVISION II  (About) 1000 Metres. Runners -15

 

PLAN B (App SJ Sunil) was restless in its Stall. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to give the gelding more Gate Practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, Jockey Kavraj Singh (WHITESOX) reported that the saddle on his mount had shifted to one side, the gelding was taken out and saddle was re-adjusted which resulted in the delay of the start of this race.

 

At the start, REACH THE STARS (App KN Bhati, Dr 11) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to ROMANTIC RACER (Neeraj Rawal, dr.12).

App SJ Sunil (PLAN B) has been reprimanded for shifting in and in the process went across the field on his inside after the start.

 

Jockey A Sandesh (KHALEEFA) reported that his mount began tardily.

 

Near 200 metres, PEIZIERES (Amyn Merchant) suddenly ducked in and went on to MUMBAI KING (App Yash Narredu) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, PEIZIERES was found to be sore by the left-fore leg and BE COOL was found to be sore by the right hind leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race them.

 

After the race, STATUESQUE was found to be sound. DARK WILLIAM had a gum injury. WHITE SOX had cut injury at both the hind coronets.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 4th, 5th & 7th races viz. SKYJET, AMAZING GRACE & MERCHANTOFVENICE and also that KEUKENHOF & MOUNTBATTEN (5th race) and the special sample of ARGYLE PINK (1st race), GABRIELLA (2nd race), THE BIG BULL (3rd race), BLUE BAY (4th race), KAZURI & HIMALAYAN QUEEN (7th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT/S:

 

RE: BODY WEIGHT OF ‘NIRBHAYA’ IN RACE NO 87 – THE CROW GAMING CHRISTMAS CUP – DIV – I – RUN ON 25TH DECEMBER 2014:

 

The body weight of NIRBHAYA was erroneously displayed as 468 kg whereas the weight should have been 568 kg. The Club’s records have been amended accordingly.
