On a request from Trainer S.S.Attaollahi, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge SPEARHEAD in the 7th race, at his (Trainer S.S.Attaollahi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(244) – THE CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
EQUIANO (App.Prasad) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Amjad Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ZEKI (Shrikant Kamble) jumped awkwardly.
Trainer H.J.Antia was asked if he could explain the apparent poor performance of WIND OF THE NORTH. Tr.Antia said that the gelding had raced poorly last time at his only other Pune start. He added that WIND OF THE NORTH has had a hoof problem. He has been working well but has not reproduced his track work in his two starts.
After the race, WIND OF THE NORTH was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SERENA, FOLLOW ME & JOSEPHINE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(245) – THE DELHI RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 5 Runners
Near 900 metres, YUVILLE (Imran Chisty) shifted in and inconvenienced SEA TREASURE (Akshay). Jockey Imran Chisty has been cautioned.
Passing 800 metres, MOUNTAIN REGIMENT (App.Tushar Nemane) shifted in and hampered the running of SAINTS N SINNERS (A.Sandesh), who in turn, while slowing down, hampered the running of YUVILLE (Imran Chisty). App.Tushar Nemane has been cautioned.
Near 200 metres, SAINTS N SINNERS ( A.Sandesh) shifted inwards and closed the gap available to YUVILLE (Imran Chisty) who had to change course outwards to make his bid. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.
After the race, MOUNTAIN REGIMENT and SAINTS N SINNERS were found to be sound. MOUNTAIN REGIMENT had a cut injury at the right hind fetlock and SAINTS N SINNERS had a cut injury above the right hock.
RACE NO.3(246) – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, AFSOON ((App.Nikhil Bhujbal) jumped out awkwardly.
Approaching 200 metres, AFSOON (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) was eased off the heels of IRRESISTIBLE HUNK (Dashrath Singh) and in the process ducked out.
Near 100 metres, GOLDEN MEMORY (Akshay) was carried in as INTEQUAM (A.Ashhad Asbar) shifted inwards at that stage. Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar has been cautioned.
MONZA (C.Rajendra) hung out through the race thereby placing its Rider at a disadvantage. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to show the gelding in a Mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race him.
After the race IRRESISTIBLE HUNK, MONZA, MAXIMUS, & AFSOON were found to be sound. VICTORIOUS MARCH and IRRESISTIBLE HUNK had a gum injury.
RACE NO.4(247) – THE DEMOCRATICUS PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, SAMI (Amyn Merchant) and BLUE MELLON (S.Sunil) were slow to move, losing ground.
Soon after the start, SONGLARK (P.Trevor) was tightened and lost position.
Near 900 metres, SAMI (Amyn Merchant) weakened and dropped back due to which SONGLARK (P.Trevor) who was following, shifted in to avoid colliding and jostled with BLUE MELLON (S.Sunil) wherein both the horses became unbalanced.
Jockey S.Sunil (BLUE MELLON) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
Jockey B Sreekanth (PHOENIX FORCE) reported that his mount lugged in during the race, Trainer Karthik G has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Trainer P.Shroff was questioned regarding the poor performance of his charge SONGLARK. The Trainer stated that he had instructed the Jockey to be in 2nd, 3rd or 4th position and do his best. He added that his filly received interference soon after the start was checked and lost ground. Thereafter, the Jockey was unable to improve his position. Near 900 metres, the filly came in contact with BLUE MELLON and became unbalanced. Jockey P.Trevor was forced to travel wide at the bend to improve his position. The explanation was noted.
After the race, SAVAGE GARDEN was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern. PHOENIX FORCE & SONGLARK were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(248) – THE RED MILLS HORSE FEED NOW IN INDIA SALVER: (About) 1400 Metres – 11Runners
At the request of Trainer Nosher Cama, MESMERIC was examined at 2030 hours on 25/10/2012 and found to have urticaria all over the body, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
CIGGARO (S.Sunil) dwelt losing some ground and ICE COOL (S.John) began awkwardly, losing ground.
At the start, MONET (S.Zervan) jumped out awkwardly outwards and was slow to begin.
Near 200 metres, ICE COOL (S.John) shifted out under the use of the whip and brushed WOVEN DREAMS (P.Trevor). Jockey S.John has been cautioned.
Jockey D.K.Ashish (PISTOL PACKIN MAMA) has been asked to ride out his mount till past the Post.
CERRO NEGRO (C.Rajendra) which raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event, laid out while straightening for home.
After the race, PISTOL PACKIN MAMA was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind fetlock and suspensory. ANCIENT ODYESSY was examined on 29/10/2012 and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(249) – THE COOLMORE JUVENILE MILLION: (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, COLOURFUL PRINCE (Dashrath Singh) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to DECATHLON (P.S.Chouhan). TICKER TAPE PARADE (P.Kamlesh) was tightened for room and steadied.
RAPTOR (B.Sreekanth) lugged out in the early part of the race. Trainer Karthik G has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
FALCON (D.K.Ashish) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, INVINCIBLE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon and ZAFIRAH had a cut injury at the right hind fetlock. TICKER TAPE PARADE and BRIGHT LADY were found to be sound.
INVINCIBLE (P.Trevor) was placed fifth and COLOURFUL PRINCE (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.7(250) – THE IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING & GOFFS R.W.I.T.C., LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2) : About) 2000 Metres– 12 Runners
SPEARHEAD (P.Trevor) was very fractious and reluctant to be stalled. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous run, the Trainer has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey Neeraj RAWAL (ALMA MATER) reported loss of his whip near 50 metres from the Winning Post.
Trainer Altamaash Ahmed and Jockey A.Sandesh were questioned regarding the poor performance of ASTAPI. The Jockey stated that he was instructed to be in 5th or 6th position and do his best. The Jockey added that the gelding was a bit slow out of the Gates and he had tucked him behind horses and during the race his mount had clipped the hind heels of BERLUSCONI on a few occasions and thereafter lost interest in the race and when he asked for an effort, the gelding did not respond. The Trainer stated that the gelding has lost condition after running the Indian St Leger, and was not looking good in the Paddock. When asked whether the use of Tongue Strap had a bearing on the performance, he replied in the negative and added that he uses the Tongue Strap in work and on an advise from his Work Rider he has used it in the race. The explanation was noted.
After the race, ALMA MATER was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind fetlock, ONASSIS had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and BERLUSCONI had a gum injury. ASTAPI, NADIA & HILLS AND STARS were found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(251) – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY(DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
Near 1000 metres, AFROJACK (Dashrath Singh) shifted outwards and caused FOREST LEGION (B.Sreekanth) to shift out, due to which WINGS OF GLORY (P.Kamlesh) shifted out and made contact with AUTUMN RUSH (Imran Chisty)who itself leaned inwards at that stage. In this incidence, FOREST LEGION shifted inwards when tightened and was steadied and in turn hampered the running of BOLD DANCER (F.Irani).
AUTUMN RUSH (Imran Chisty) and WINGS OF GLORY (P.Kamlesh) brushed each other on a few occasions in the middle stages of the race. The Stipendiary Stewards will enquire further in this matter and submit a report.
Approaching 200 metres, BORAK (Neeraj Rawal) lugged inwards due to which AUTUMN RUSH (Imran Chisty) shifted ground inwards.
After the race, AUTUMN RUSH was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the right hind coronet. ARCTIC MINSTREL had a cut injury at the right fore cannon. WINGS OF GLORY and GREATNESS (examined on 29/10/2012) were found to be sound.
RACE NO.9(252) – THE CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
TAG ALONG TOMMY (App.Prabhu Naidu) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kollse has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey P.Trevor (STAR ZONE) has been cautioned for failing to ride out his mount till the Post.
After the race, MASTEROFTHESKY, EROTIC FLAME, SAN RAFAEL and ARMEL were found to be sound. MASTEROFTHESKY and SAN RAFAEL had a gum injury.
RACE NO.10(253) – THE THUNDERING POWER PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 17 Runners
MY LUCKY STAR (Amyn Merchant) lost 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, .before next accepting to race the gelding.
At the start, VELOCITY (App.Tushar Nemane) was slow to move, losing ground.
Trainer Nina M.Lavani has been fined Rs.1000/- for not obtaining permission to remove the bandages on her charge VELOCITY.
MILANO GREEN (M.A.Roushan) laid out while negotiating the bend.
Jockey C.S.Jodha (FAIRY EMPRESS) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Jockey Kavraj Singh (SNOW FLAKE) reported loss of whip near 600 metres.
After the race, REMNISCING, VELOCITY, GATRAVAT and MY LUCKY STAR were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th & 9th race, viz. ZIDAAN, DOVERS HILL, DECATHLON, CAPRIOLE and SNOW BALL, as also that of MARIINSKY & SATURDAY AFFAIR (6th race) and NADIA & ONASSIS (7th race), and the special sample of SONGLARK (4th race) and AUTUMN RUSH & WINGS OF GLORY (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE :APPEAL FROM JOCKEY A.ASHHAD ASBAR IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 28TH OCTOBER, 2012 TO 28TH DECEMBER, 2012 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) FOR DANGEROUS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “CRÈME DE LA CRÈME” IN ACE NO.203 – THE PHENOMENALE PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 13TH OCTOBER, 2012 – JOCKEY A.ASHHAD ASBAR WAS GIVEN A STAY ON THE PUNISHMENT TILL 28TH OCTOBER, 2012 :
The Board of Appeal at their meeting held on Saturday, 27th October, 2012 considered appeal dated 17th October, 2012, from Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar, on the captioned subject.
The Board of Appeal having considered all the documents and papers that were submitted and having heard Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar and his Spokesman and having viewed the video recording of the race and having deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds decided to reject the appeal and forfeit the deposit.
Further, the Board of Appeal felt that the punishment meted out to Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar appeared to be lenient considering the gravity of the offence. The Board of Appeal felt that the punishment meted out to him should be enhanced and therefore he was given a show cause asking him to show cause as to why the punishment meted out to him should not be enhanced.
After again hearing Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar and his Spokesman and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, the Board of Appeal decided to enhance the punishment i.e. his Jockey’s license now stands suspended w.e.f. 29th October, 2012 to 29th January, 2013 (both days inclusive) (not permitted to ride work/mock race).

RE: MOCK RACE HELD AFTER THE RACES ON 28TH OCTOBER, 2012:
1) The Sr.V.O. reported that CLASSIC MONEY was observed after the mock race to have broken a blood. The horse has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.
2) The Sr.V.O. reported that after completion of the mock race, PIANO MAN collapsed near 2200 metres. First Aid treatment was given but the gelding did not recover and died on the track.
