RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES , 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 4.5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1(107) –  THE IN THE SPOTLIGHT TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

DANCE SMARTLY (App.M.Ayyar) was reluctant to be stalled. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner earlier, Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

In the process of DANCE SMARTLY being stalled, VICTORIOUS SPIRIT (Akshay Kumar) who was in the adjoining stall, rushed the front gate. The  filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified her fit to race. Thereafter, Jockey Akshay Kumar informed that the saddle on his mount was displaced. The same was adjusted and the filly was stalled.

 

STARRINGO (App.K.Nazil) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, GOD’S DECREE (A.Sandesh) shifted in and went across DANCE SMARTLY (App.M.Ayyar) who had to be steadied. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, DANCE SMARTLY was found to be sore by the left fore leg and GOD’S DECREE was found to be sore by the left hind leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VALIANT STAR was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and VICTORIOUS SPIRIT had a gum injury. ARMAITY was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.2(108) –  THE FAIR HAVEN TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres – 4 Runners

 

On the way to the start, EYES FOR YOU (N.S.Parmar) dislodged its rider and bolted towards the winning post, as such, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

After the race, EXCELLENT GOLD was observed to have an abrasion at the right fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3(109) –  THE SEPTEMBER HANDICAP  : (About) 1600 Metres –  6 Runners

 

After the race, GALLOPING GOLDMINE was trotted and found to be sound. The gelding had an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks.

 

RACE NO.4(110) –  THE IN THE SPOTLIGHT TROPHY (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

It was observed that App. Gagandeep Mann (POWERFUL STAR) was not wearing his goggles in the race, as such, he has been fined Rs.500/-.

 

At the start, POWERFUL STAR (App. Gagandeep Mann, dr.8) jumped outwards and made contact with SANDRA’S SECRET (Kishore Kadam, dr.9).

 

Soon after the start, COURAGEOUS STAR (Shrikant Kamble) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing SASKATCHEWAN (Bhawani Singh). Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 1000 metres, NOTORIETY (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing FASCINATING (N.S.Parmar). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that CLIFFS OF CAPRI had right eye injury (sore eye) and NOTORIETY had left eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, FASCINATING and NORTHERN SINGER were trotted and found to be sound. COURAGEOUS STAR had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(111) –  THE MACCHUPICCHU PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

COLLEGIUM (C.S.Jodha) jumped out slow losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, USTAD PEDRO (A. Sandesh, dr.5) jumped outwards on to GANDALF (App. A. S. Peter, dr.6) causing the latter to be checked.

 

Soon after the start, ADAMS BEGINNING (App.D.R.Shubham) shifted in on to EBONY (Neeraj Rawal), who in turn shifted in and made contact with THE CIVILIAN (App.M.Ayyar). App.D.R.Shubham has been cautioned.

 

From the 250 metres onwards USTAD PEDRO (A. Sandesh) was inclined outwards on to EBONY (Neeraj Rawal). After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh reported that his mount hung out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that COLLEGIUM had right eye injury (sore eye) and GANDALF had injuries to both eyes (right eye sore, left eye corneal opacity and ulcer).

 

RACE NO.6(112) –  THE  RICHELIEU PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 13 Runners

 

IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App.S.A.Amit) and SHIVALIK SKIES (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow losing about a length each at the start.

 

After the race, BIG BEN was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 5th and 6th race viz. ARMAITY, USTAD PEDRO and FENCING, and the special sample of RHAPSODY (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : WITHDRAWAL OF APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB HAVING REJECTED HIS APPEAL AND CONFIRMING THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS SUSPENDING HIS JOCKEY’S LICENCE W.E.F. 31ST AUGUST, 2019 TO 1ST SEPTEMBER, 2019 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) (PERMITTED TO RIDE WORK/MOCK RACE) FOR CARELESS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “GODSWORD” IN RACE NO.33 – THE TRUE ELEGANCE PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 15TH AUGUST, 2019 – APP.P.S.KAVIRAJ :

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 23rd September, 2019 considered letter dated 20th September,  2019 from Apprentice P.S.Kaviraj withdrawing the appeal dated 28th August, 2019 on the above subject.

 

The Board of Appeal having considered the letter withdrawing his appeal as also having heard the reasons given by App.P.S.Kaviraj for withdrawal of his appeal, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds decided that the appeal be dismissed and the deposit be forfeited. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards of the Club to suspend his App.Jockey’s licence on 5th and 6th October, 2019 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race) stands.

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 26th August, 2019 considered letter dated 2nd August, 2019  from Trainer Mansoor Shah withdrawing the appeal dated 16th April, 2019 on the above subject.

 

The Board of Appeal having considered the letter withdrawing his appeal as also having heard the reasons given by Trainer Mansoor Shah for withdrawal of his appeal, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds decided that the appeal be dismissed and the deposit be forfeited.
