RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM 2000 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(119) –  THE AIR STRIKE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 6 Runners – NO REPORT

 

RACE NO.2(120) – THE STAR OF GIBRALTAR PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

ADVANCE TO CONTACT (S.G.Prasad) stumbled at the start.

 

At the start, ROYSTON ROCK (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped outwards and at the same time TOP WIZARD (App.Vishal N. Bunde, dr.11) jumped inwards thereby tightening DANCE OF FIRE (Bhawani Singh, dr.10).

 

At the start, SPINNING GOLD (S. A. Amit, dr.6) jumped outwards and at the same time RED FIRE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact.

 

Soon after the start, OPTIMUM (P. S. Chouhan) and GOLDEN TOWER (App. A. S. Peter) were observed to have jostled. Thereafter, GOLDEN TOWER (App.A.S.Peter) shifted in thereby tightening OPTIMUM (P.S.Chouhan) who had to be checked. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident and submit a report shortly.

 

Approaching 700 metres, GOLDEN TOWER (App. A. S. Peter) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing BOURBON PRINCESS (C. S. Jodha).

 

Passing 300 metres, OPTIMUM (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out there by inconveniencing SPINNING GOLD (S. A. Amit). Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey G. Amit (BAY OF LOVE) reported that at about 200 metres his right reins had slipped which he regained immediately. Jockey G.Amit has been cautioned.

 

After the race, BAY OF LOVE was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore cannon. GOLDEN TOWER was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.3(121) – THE ACROBAT PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

 

TURNING POINT (C.S.Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Passing 300 metres, TEXAS GOLD (App. K. Nazil) shifted in thereby inconveniencing ANGELS TOUCH (A. Imran Khan) who had to be steadied. After the race, Apprentice K.Nazil reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

                                                                                                                                                                                  

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (ODESSA) reported that during the initial stages of the race his mount was inclined to run out and had to be steadied. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, FOREST FAIRY was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore coronet. ODESSA was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(122) –  THE D.N.ZODGE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners

 

At the start, ABRAXAS (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.9) jumped outwards on to ADELE (P. Trevor, dr.10) and thereafter shifted in thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which SIA (App. Gagandeep Mann, dr. 7), TRANSFORM (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.6), GODSWORD (A. Sandesh, dr.4) and ROSPOMARE (Amyn Merchant, dr.2) were tightened. After questioning, App. P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs.3,000/-. Further, he has been referred to the Apprentice Master to improve his riding skills.

 

Soon after the start, NEXTSTAR (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby tightening PLEIADES (App. Santosh G.) who had to be steadied. Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, due to a tightly packed field, BETWEEN THE WATERS (C. S. Jodha) shifted out and carried GODSWORD (A. Sandesh) outwards on to SIA (App. Gagandeep Mann), forcing the latter to be checked.

 

After the race, GODSWORD was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon.  BETWEEN THE WATERS and NEXTSTAR (examined on 29/09/2018) were found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.5(123) –  THE FOURTH ESTATE TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners

 

ARROWFIELD (S.Zervan) got restless in the stall and thereafter took an awkward fly jump thus losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 200 metres, KIPLING (N.S.Parmar) shifted in on to MYRCELLA (H.Zeeshan) who had to be steadied. Jockey N.S.Parmar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, BAYMAX and TEODOR MONTE were trotted and found to be sound. BAYMAX had a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel and ARROWFIELD had an injury at the right nostril.

 

RACE NO.6(124) – THE STAR OF GIBRALTAR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, MADRAKE was examined at the stables at 0840 hours on 27/09/2018 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

On a request from Jockey Dashrath Singh, his mount  GRAND EYES was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. on arrival at the start and was certified fit to race.

 

After being stalled, MAESTRO (Santosh G.) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

OLLY BOY (App.D.R.Shubham) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, GRAND EYES (Dashrath Singh) was observed to have stumbled.

 

Passing 800 metres, BUDDYHOLLY (App.Vishal N.Bunde) was observed to have lost it’s footing and stumbled thereby dislodging the rider. Due to this incident, SHER KHAN (App.K.Nazil), HIGHLAND LASS (Neeraj Rawal), ISINIT (Satish Nayak), GRAND EYES (Dashrath Singh) and OLLY BOY (App.D.R.Shubham) were inconvenienced. 

 

Passing 400 metres, ROMANTIC WARRIOR (App.N.Nadeem) shifted out and went across TRUE GRIT (App.Parbat Singh, forcing the latter to be checked. Apprentice N.Nadeem has been cautioned.

 

Passing 250 metres, HIGHLAND LASS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby inconveniencing MAESTRO (Santosh G). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Santosh G (MAESTRO) reported that his mount was inclined to run out during the initial stages of the race. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, RASHT was found to be sore by the left hind leg. Also, the gelding had an abrasion at the left hind cannon and hock. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that GRAND EYES was examined at the stables in the morning on 29/09/2018 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also,  the gelding had lost its left fore shoe and had a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TRUE GRIT was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind coronet and ISINIT had lost its left hind shoe.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd and 5th race, viz. FLAMMEUS, FOREST FAIRY and LETHAL STEPS, and the special sample of ROYSTON ROCK (2nd race) and TRANSFORM & BETWEEN THE WATERS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :

 

RE : POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF  dk b f “LORRAINE” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.68 – THE WAR COMMAND PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON SATURDAY, 25TH AUGUST, 2018 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Friday, 28th September, 2018 interviewed Trainer Mansoor Shah regarding the Positive Report dated 25th September, 2018 from QuantiLAB, Mauritius, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his  charge LORRAINE (Winner) in Race No.68 – The War Command Plate (Div.I) run on Saturday, 25th August, 2018, which read as under :-

 

“The sample was found to contain Flunixin”

 

At this meeting, Trainer Mansoor Shah was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample i.e. latest by 3rd October, 2018 whether he wished the split sample of his charge LORRAINE to go to Hong Kong Jockey Club Laboratory, LGC, New Market, UK, LCH, France or Racing Analytical Services Ltd, Australia, for Confirmatory Analysis and also the name of the Witnessing Analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the Primary Laboratory as conclusive.

 

Should he decide to send the split sample for confirmatory analysis, he should refer to Rule 2 of the “Rules for Witnessing the Analysis of the Confirmatory Sample” which specifies the persons who are allowed to attend and witness the analysis of the confirmatory sample. However, it was his responsibility to enquire and find out from the Laboratory he nominates for confirmatory analysis, whether the person he nominates as his Witnessing Analyst would be acceptable to them or not. Further, he was required to arrange the presence of the Witnessing Analyst at the Lab conducting the Confirmatory Analysis within 30 days of him nominating the name. In case he was unable to arrange within this period the Witnessing Analyst after having nominated the name, the Confirmatory Analysis will proceed without the Witnessing Analyst.
