RACE DAY REPORTS

 

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES TILL 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER LEADING TO 5 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED ABOUT 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge VENUS MARINA in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(175) – THE CLASSIC STORY PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Approaching 1400 metres, GIBRAN (J.Chinoy) shifted in as the gelding was being settled and inconvenienced IBIS (T.S.Jodha). Jockey J.Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

After the race, LIGHT MY WAY was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ADAMS PRINCE was observed to have an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks. GIBRAN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(176) – THE MIDORI PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

After being stalled, NATALIAN EXPRESS (Dashrath Singh) started kicking the rear gate. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to have suffered cut injuries at the right stifle area and at the right nostril. As such, NATALIAN EXPRESS was certified unfit to race and withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Sanjay Kolse is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Further, the Trainer has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Near 800 metres, BASIC LIFE (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted inwards and inconvenienced POLAR ZONE (A.Ashhad Asbar) who shifted out and inconvenienced SUMMER ECLIPSE (P.Trevor). Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been cautioned.

 

Near 100 metres, GIFT WRAPPED (P.S.Chouhan) stumbled on its own and was unbalanced, dislodging the Rider.

 

After the race, SUMMER ECLIPSE, GIFT WRAPPED and ZAFIRAH (examined on 29/09/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(177) – THE  MAYAPAN PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 14 Runners

                                      

Near 700 metres, CAPTAIN SMART (App.B.Nikhil) shifted in and hampered the running of NEPTUNE’S OCEAN (Vikram Jodha) who went on to STRATEGY (App.Sandeep Jadhav). App.B.Nikhil has been fined Rs.2,000/-. 

 

Approaching 600 metres, SAN RAFAEL (C.S.Jodha) shied away, possibly due to the presence of SMALL TREASURE (S.S.Baria) on its outside and made contact with the rails, becoming unbalanced and hit the rails again and dislodged its Rider. Due to the incident, ZOE (Shrikant Kamble), MOUNTAIN TREASURE (D.K.Ashish), RISING

 

ANGEL (App.S.Mosin), PUNE WARRIORS (R.Shelar) were forced outwards and also SOURCE CODE (Zameer Sayyed), STAR ZONE (V.Chandrakant) and SEEN IT ALL (Altaf Sayyed) travelled wider. 

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (PALACE GIRL) reported that his mount was inclined to lean out during the race. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, SAN RAFAEL and MOUNTAIN TREASURE were found to be sore by the right fore leg. Also, SAN RAFAEL had a cut injury at the left hind, above the hock and MOUNTAIN TREASURE had a cut injury at the right hind cannon. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the ace, PUNE WARRIORS was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. SMALL TREASURE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(178) – THE AMOROUS KNIGHT PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the Start, CHARLOTTE RAY (IRE) (Dashrath Singh) jumped out awkwardly and shifted ground inwards. STEP UP (A.Sandesh) jumped awkwardly outwards. 

 

Near 400 metres, MIGHTY KING (C.S.Jodha) shifted out due to which MABLE (Suraj Naredu) was tightened and steadied, which resulted in STEP UP (A.Sandesh) also being steadied. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.  

 

After the race, MIGHTY KING was found to be sound, but having a gum injury and VICTORIOUS MARCH had an abrasion at the left hind pastern. CHARLOTTE RAY (IRE) was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(179)  – THE  MAYAPAN PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 15 Runners

 

Soon after the start, UNIVERSAL JOY (I.Pash) was tightened for room.

 

Soon after the start, SHERLOCK HOLMES (D.S.Rathore, dr.11) shifted in before the Red Marker and went across ICE AGE (App.S.Mosin) and EDGE OF GLORY (R.Shelar) who were steadied. Jockey D.S.Rathore has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey R.K.Mahesh (MR MORRISON) lost his right stirrup at the jump which he regained after travelling some distance.

 

Jockey S.Sunil (DREAMLAND) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using his whip in an Improper manner wherein he had used the whip in a forehand position on the shoulder of his mount.

 

After the race, EDGE OF GLORY was found to be sound, but having a cut injury above the left hock. DREAMLAND had a cut injury at the right hock, MAHIKI had an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks and ICE AGE had a cut injury at the right hind pastern. SHERLOCK HOLMES, MR MORRISON and SHEER ROMANCE (examined on 29/09/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(180) – THE  NIRMAL RUIA MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer P.Quinn, ANCIENT WONDER was examined at 0815 hours on 28/09/2013 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

ORITO (Dashrath Singh) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle.   Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, DÉJÀ VU (P.S.Chouhan, dr.9) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to WINDS OF FORTUNE (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.8) who in turn went on to STAR OF GIBRALTAR (A.Sandesh). 

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (SUPREME STAR) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his fourth offence with regard to the Use of the Whip, the matter was reported to the Stewards. 

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey D.K.Ashish and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and held him guilty of using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount SUPREME STAR. Therefore, the Stewards decided to deprive him of the use of the whip in races with effect from 6th October, 2013 till the end of the Pune Meeting 2013 and for the first three race days of the Mumbai Meeting 2013/14 i.e. from 17th November, 2013 to 24th November, 2013.

 

In the last 100 metres, the whip of Jockey D.K.Ashish (SUPREME STAR) got stuck in the saddle of STAR TRAINER (C.S.Jodha) as both the horses were in proximity of each other.

 

After the race, ORITO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(181) – THE  ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

Approaching 800 metres, due to the bend MEGA STAR (I.Pasha) and JUST BY CHANCE (P.Trevor) drifted out and as they were steadied JUST BY CHANCE shifted in, due to which MEGA STAR ducked in suddenly and jostled with HUNTSMAN (S.P.Ranjane) who collided with the rails and fell. Due to this incident, MORALS (Neeraj Rawal), GOOD MEMORY (T.S.Jodha), SALSA (Zameer Sayyed), VENUS MARINA (Malcolm Kharadi) were pulled up by their respective Riders and in the process Jockey Malcolm Kharadi (VENUS MARINA) lost his balance and was dislodged.

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey I.Pasha (MEGA STAR) as also Jockey P.Trevor (JUST BY CHANCE) and having heard them, directed the Stipendiary Stewards to enquire further into this incident and to submit a report..

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that HUNTSMAN fell down near the 800 metres. On examination, it was found that the colt had broken down from the left shoulder and hence was euthanized on humane grounds. 

 

After the race, PRESIDENTIAL was found to be sound. JUST BY CHANCE, MEGA STAR and VENUS MARINA were examined at the stables in the morning on 29/09/2013 and were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(182) – THE  G2 GOLD CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer P.Shroff, ARCHIE was examined at 1800 hours on 27/09/2013 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

ROGER BCOOL(Nirmal Jodha) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge STARRING while the filly was on a Veterinary ban. The filly was struck out at Acceptance stage.

 

Approaching 1200 metres, BRUNELLO (Vikram Walkar) shifted in, due to which QUEST FOR LOVE (Vikram Jodha) was steadied and dropped back, as a result IL MORAN (D.K.Ashish) who was following, was hampered for a run. Jockey Vikram Walkar has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

Approaching 200 metres, QUEST FOR LOVE (Vikram Jodha) shifted in under the use of the whip and caused interference to BRUNELLO (Vikram Walkar). Jockey Vikram Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-. 

 

After the race, ROGER BCOOL was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MON AMI was observed to have a cut injury at the right nostril.  POLYNESIA, CYPRESS POINT and NUSH were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(183) – THE  BEYOND BELIEF PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 15 Runners

 

FOND MEMORIES (P.Kamlesh) jumped out slow and veered towards the outside and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge STAR PRINCE while the gelding was on a Starter’s ban. The gelding was struck out at Acceptance stage.

 

Approaching 800 metres, ADAMS SPIRIT (R.Vaibhav) clipped LAURUS PRIDE (T.S.Jodha) and stumbled.

 

Near 200 metres, SUO O MOTO (C.S.Jodha) rolled outwards on to GLORIOUS OPINION (A.Ashhad Asbar) causing the latter to travel wider.

 

After the race, FOND MEMORIES was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, LAURUS PRIDE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hock and ADAMS SPIRIT had a cut injury at the left hind coronet.  STARRY OCEAN and ALLEGIANCE (examined on 29/09/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(184) – THE  BEYOND BELIEF PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 14 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Vinesh, NAWAZISH was examined  at 1000 hours on 28/09/2013 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (CHICHARITO) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for Improper use of the whip, wherein he had allowed his mount to shift out under the use of the whip.

 

Jockey J.E.Pereira (SPEED UP) has been cautioned for being feeble in his riding effort in the straight.

 

After the race, SPEED UP was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks. CHICHARITO was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th race viz. BASIC LIFE, PALACE GIRL, SET TO FLY, STORM TRACKER and MON AMI as also that of STAR TRAINER and SUPREME STAR (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: RACE NO 162 RUN ON 21ST SEPTEMBER 2013 – USE OF WHIP IN EXCESS OF THE PRESCRIBED LIMIT ON THEIR RESPECTIVE MOUNTS

 

Jockeys D.K.Ashish (OKAVANGO) and  A.Sandesh (HURRICANE WIND) have been fined Rs.3,000/- each for using their whip in excess of the prescribed limit on their respective mounts.

RE : REQUEST FROM JOCKEY DASHRATH SINGH FOR DEFERRMENT OF HIS PUNISHMENT – HE WAS SUSPENDED FOR 29/09/2013 FOR CARELESS RIDING ON “DARK KNIGHT” IN RACE NO.144 RUN ON 14/09/2013 :

 

Jockey Dashrath submitted a letter dated 22nd September, 2013 requesting for deferment of his suspension since he had a ride in The Signature Premier Indian St.Leger (Gr.I) scheduled to be run on 29/09/2013.

 

In view of the above, the suspension of Jockey Dashrath Singh’s license stands deferred to 6th October, 2013.

ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “CAPITANO” IN RACE NO.133 - FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY (1000 METRES) RUN ON SUNDAY, 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2013 – JOCKEY BHANU PRATAP SINGH WAS SUSPENDED TILL HE APPEARS BEFORE THE STEWARDS:

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 28th September, 2013 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. They interviewed Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh in the above connection and having heard them and having viewed the video recording of Race No.133, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh. However, since he had admitted that his riding effort was weak and considering that the horse was at longer odds, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and held him guilty of incompetent riding and also for disregarding the Trainer’s instructions. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 13th October, 2013 to 26th October, 2013 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work//mock race).
