RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Nana Raghunath to saddle his charge MONEY STRIKE in the 9th race, at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1 (93) - THE CACOPHONY PLATE (DIVII): (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -  10

 

On arrival at the start, INNER HARMONY was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

SEA WONDER (Mansoor Khan) was reluctant to be stalled. Tr.H.J.Antia has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

THIS IS IT (App.Akshay) was slow in the strides losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (BLUSH) when questioned stated that he was instructed to be in front or be in 2nd or 3rd position and to do his best. He added that the mare was slowly out of the Gates and thereafter was sluggish and did not show speed and hence he rode her out from where he found himself. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, BLUSH, ALEUTIAN ZONE & RAJDOOT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 2 (94) – THE RAPHAELA PLATE : (About) 2400 Metres.  Runners - 5

 

After the race, WESTERN CHALLENGE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TITIAN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 3 (95) – THE SONALIKA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 10

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.3000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of his charge MOUNTAIN FLORA.

 

At the start, GREATNESS (Shrikant Kamble) tried to veer to the outside. Trainer Nrendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

App.A.Sandesh (SMOOTH OPERATOR) reported that his mount lugged out throughout the race. Tr. Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated in to the running and riding of MOUNTAIN RULER and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, BLADES OF GLORY & MOUNTAIN RULER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 4 (96) – THE DR.S.R.CAPTAIN TROPHY: About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 8

 

At the start, SUPERIOR QUEST (A.M.Tograllu) jumped out awkwardly. ROYAL HIGHNESS (App.M.A.Roushan) tried to veer to the outside.

 

Near 500 metres, BATISTA (Ladjadj Stephane) shifted in and went across BULLET (Dashrath Singh) who was checked. Jockey Ladjadj Stephane has been cautioned.

 

After the race, BLACKJACK was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 5 (97) – THE GRUEZI PLATE:   (About) 1400 Metres.   Runners – 11

 

FAIRY QUEEN (C.S.Jodha) was restless in the stall. EXPELLIARMUS (A.J.Nilesh) was restless in the stall and kicked the rear gates a couple of times. Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha and Faisal A.Abbas have been asked to give their respective charge filly more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

A Stewards’ Enquiry was held in this race. The reason being, at about 800 metres, FORTUNE HUNTER (Neeraj Rawal, placed 2nd) shifted out and caused interference to AMBROSIA (Malcolm Kharadi, placed 3rd). After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to revise the order of placing of the race as under :-

 

LAKE MICHIGAN          -           FIRST;                          FORTUNE HUNTER      -           THIRD;

AMBROSIA                  -           SECOND;                     DESTINED TO GLORY-             FOURTH         

 

In the above connection Jockey Neeraj Rawal was asked to meet the Stewards for careless riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred.

After the race, WHISPERING HILLS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, EXPELLIARMUS & FAIRY QUEEN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 6 (98) – THE THREPTIN FILLIES’ & MARES’ STAKES (GR.3): About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 5

RACE NO 7 (99) – THE AKKASAHEB MAHARAJ TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres.   Runners – 8

 

Approaching 200 metres, NATIONAL GLORY (Akash Agarwal) scrapped the rails.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (BEAUTIFUL STRANGER) reported that his mount was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

After the race, ATTILA & NATIONAL GLORY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 8 (100) – THE SONALIKA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres.   Runners – 10

 

At the start, BORN TO RACE (App.A.Sandesh) veered outwards and continued to hang out in the early part of the race. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Approaching 800 metres, TITLEIST (Shrikant Kamble) dropped back and as a result COOL CAT (C.Rajendra) who was following, shifted out and carried OCEAN POWER (S.Zervan) outwards.

 

Jockey A.J.Nilesh (NATIONAL IKON) has been cautioned for travelling wide while negotiating the bend and in the straight for no apparent reason.

 

After the race, TITLLEIST was found to be sound. 

 

RACE NO 9 (101) – THE  CACOPHONY PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres.   Runners – 11

 

SOLID ROCK (App.Kavraj Singh) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

MONEY STRIKE (Zameer Sayyed) was reluctant to be stalled. TEMBLADOR (App.M.A.Roushan) jumped out awkwardly and lost about 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers D.J.Surti and Faisal A.Abbas have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, TEMBLADOR (App.M.A.Roushan) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Near 200 metres AL HUZZAH (D.K.Ashish) was pulled up by its rider and stopped galloping.

 

Passing 800 metres, STRAIGHTFORWARD (R.Shelar) was tightened as GLOWING MIST (C.S.Jodha) shifted inwards. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

ARSHAVIN (T.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Suresh Chavan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race,  AL HUZZAH was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ATHOS was found to be sound.

MONEY FLASH, LAKE MICHIGAN, STRELITZIA & OCEAN FAIRY as also that of DANCING DAME & OH CALCUTA (6th race) and the special sample of BEEMER & MOUNTAIN RULER (3rd race), BLACKJACK & RIVER STAR (4th race), HOT PROSPECT & WHISPERING HILLS (5th race), EL TROPICO (7th race), OCEAN POWER (8th race) and AL HUZZAH (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “WILD IMAGINATION” IN RACE NO.60 – THE STAR OF THE SEASON PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 15TH AUGUST, 2011 :

The Stewards at their meeting held on  Sunday, 28th August,  2011 considered further report from the Stipendiary Stewards on the above subject. They interviewed Jockey Ladjadj Stephane and Trainer Narendra Lagad and having considered all the submissions made and having viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Ladjadj Stephane. However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for “unsatisfactory riding” and held him guilty of riding an ill-judged race. In that, his instructions were to hit the front, however, he did not make sufficient efforts to hit the front. Thereafter, passing 400 metres when a gap opened up on the inside, he waited for too long and then took the gap when it was too late. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 16th September, 2011 to 17th September, 2011 (both days inclusive) and to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/- for riding an ill-judged race (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Further, the Stewards also held him guilty of misbehavior in the Stewards Room. However, keeping in mind that you had subsequently tendered an apology, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to severely caution you for the future.

 

RE : ADMINISTRATION OF RINGER’S LACTATE & DEXTROSE 5% TO “HICKORY WHICH RAN IN RACE NO.77 – THE TRACK MUSIC PLATE (DIV..II) ON 21ST AUGUST, 2011 – TRAINER DAMODARAN D.PILLAI :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 28th August, 2011 considered letter dated 21st August, 2011 from the In-charge, Club’s Equine Hospital that HICKORY was treated on 20/08/2011 at the Club’s Equine Hospital with Ringer’s Lactate & Dextrose 5% on written request  of Trainer Damodaran D.Pillai and the Hospital was not informed about the running programme of the horse.

 

The Stewards interviewed Tr.Damodaran D.Pillai and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him,  decided to fine him a sum of Rs.5,000/- for contravention of the Calendar Notification on the above subject.
