RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  5 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C. D. Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S. Waheed to saddle his charges SHIVALIK PRINCESS (4th race), SHIVALIK SHOWERS (5th race), VISION OF ROMANCE (6th race) & DEVILS RIDE (9th race), at his (Trainer C. D. Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(86) – THE SPRUNGLI PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

LOVEABLE LOCKS (N. S. Parmar) lost about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, TAREEF (App. Akshay Gaikwad, dr.4) shifted in and made contact with AMAZON CAT (Kishore Kadam, dr.3). Thereafter, TAREEF further shifted in and tightened AMAZON CAT. App. Akshay Gaikwad has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 200 metres LOVEABLE LOCKS (N. S. Parmar) shifted in due to which SHUKRAN (App. S. J. Sunil) had to be steadied.

 

App. R. Ajinkya (RACHEL) has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit, on his mount.

 

After the race, HIGH WINDS was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore cannon. MOUNTAIN TREASURE was examined at the stables in the morning on 28/12/2015 and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(87) – THE SPRUNGLI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

 

App.N. Nadeem (YARDSTICK) has been fined Rs.500/- for failing to wear his racing goggles.

 

At the start, DESERT LILY (Dashrath Singh, dr. 6) jumped out awkwardly inwards and SMOOTHTALKINRASCAL (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr. 5) jumped out awkwardly outwards and made contact.

 

Thereafter, DESERT LILY (Dashrath Singh) shifted in under urgings and went on to SMOOTHTALKINRASCAL (App. Raghuveer Singh) forcing the latter to shift in as a result the field on his inside was tightened, due to which YARDSTICK (App. N. Nadeem, dr. 3) and VICTORY DANCER (Vikram Jodha, dr. 2) had to be checked and dropped back. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing 800 metres, JABBLE (App. Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby forcing DESERT LILY (Dashrath Singh) to be checked and drop back. Thereafter, passing 200 metres, JABBLE was observed to have shifted in, as a result VICTORY DANCER (Vikram Jodha) was tightened and had to be steadied. On questioning, App. Yash Narredu stated that his mount was hanging in. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching 150 metres, YARDSTICK (App. N. Nadeem) was hampered for a run due to BRIGHT HALO (A. Sandesh) shifting inwards.

 

After the race, JABBLE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(88)  – THE JASDANWALLA GOLD CUP: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 9

 

At the start, ROMAN GOLD (R. Vaibhav dr. 5) and SMART AND NOBLE (App. Bhawani Singh dr. 6) shifted out and in respectively and made contact.

 

SMART N NOBLE (App. Bhawani Singh) was observed to have shifted out in the straight. On questioning, App. Bhawani Singh stated that as he did not have a clear run he had shifted out.

 

After the race, Jockey R. Vaibhav (ROMAN GOLD) reported that his mount shied away from the other horses throughout the race.

 

Jockeys N. S. Parmar (WILDHORN), Dashrath Singh (TROMBONE) and Jockey P. Trevor (CLEMENTI) reported that their mounts ran green.

 

RACE NO.4(89) – THE JEHANGIR P.DUBASH TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  15

 

SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (T. S. Jodha) was restless in the stall. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SECRET OATH (Akash Agarwal dr. 4) shifted in and went across BLACKBEAN (C. S. Jodha dr. 3) who was steadied.

 

At the start, WAJOOD (App. Bhawani Singh dr. 13) was slow into stride, thus loosing considerable ground. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

At the start, PARAMOUR (A. Sandesh, dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with CARRALISA (P. Trevor, dr. 6.) At the same time,  RIPOSTE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.10) shifted in on to SPEEDO (App. Parbat Singh, dr. 9), who in turn went on to FRANKEST (App. S. A. Amit, dr. 8) who made contact with CARRALISA (P. Trevor, dr. 6). Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been cautioned.

 

Passing 350 metres, SPEED MAGIC (App. N. B. Kuldeep) shifted out, due to which CARRALISA (P. Trevor) had to be steadied. Thereafter, SPEED MAGIC (App. N. B. Kuldeep) shifted in going across SECRET OATH (Akash Agarwal) who was forced to check. App. N. B. Kuldeep has been cautioned.

 

Passing 150 metres, CARRALISA (P.Trevor) shifted out thereby taking SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (T.S.Jodha) outwards. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

RACE NO.5(90) – THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 4

 

BOOKER JONES (P.Trevor) was restless in the stall. Trainer S. S. Attaollahi has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(91) – THE KUSUMBEN DHIRUBHAI SHAH TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9

 

Passing 150 metres, REMEMBRANCE OF YOU (A. Sandesh) hung out and made contact with BABYLON (Akshay). After the race Jockey A. Sandesh reported that his mount was hanging-out in the straight. Tr. Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, SENTIMENTAL (P. Trevor) was observed to be checked and dropped back due to a tightly packed field. On questioning, Jockey P. Trevor (SENTIMENTAL) stated that he did not get a clear passage in the straight and was held up for a run.

 

After the race, Trainer S. K. Sunderji stated that his charge ITSCARO had run below his expectations and requested that the gelding be scoped. The Sr. V. O. reported that after the race, ITSCARO was found to be sound. At the request of the trainer, the gelding was scoped after the race at the Club’s Equine Hospital and found to be EIPH Grade-III.  The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race. In view of the above no enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of ITSCARO.

 

After the race, REMEMBRANCE OF YOU and NIRBHAYA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(92)– THE KHEEM SINGH GOLD CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  10

 

MAD HATTER (Kishore Kadam) played up in the stall and in the process its saddle was displaced. The gelding was examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. However, since the whole field was stalled, re-saddling was not an option as it would further delay the start, as such, MAD HATTER was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ALIBOXER (App. S. J. Sunil dr. 5) shifted in and made contact with EVIDENCE (P. Trevor dr. 4) who then shifted in on to PHOENIX KNIGHT (A. Sandesh dr. 3) who in turn went onto RASHEEKA (J. E. Pereira dr. 2).

 

At the start, MILLER RANGE (Shrikant Kamble dr. 7) and SANSA (App. D. M. Ayyar dr. 9) shifted out and in respectively and made contact.

 

PHOENIX KNIGHT (A. Sandesh) was observed to have hung-in in the straight despite the Jockey’s best efforts and in the last 50 metres went across ELSA (Dashrath Singh) inconveniencing the latter.

 

Due to PHOENIX KNIGHT (A. Sandesh) hanging in, EVIDENCE (P. Trevor) shied inwards, and scrapped the railings. Tr. Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, App. S. Mosin (GLORIOUS GIFT) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, PHOENIX KNIGHT and GLORIOUS GIFT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(93)–THE  DOME ENTERTAINMENT MILLION: (About) 1000 Metres– Runners -  14

 

Tr. Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs.3,000/- for bringing his runners late in the paddock.

 

ABIGAIL (N. S. Parmar) was reluctant to reach the starting point thus delaying the start. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

At the start, TAP DANCE (A. Sandesh, dr.12) took a fly jump.

 

At the start, UNDISPUTED (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4), HIROHAMA (App. Yash Narredu, dr. 5) and  JOLEENE (T. S. Jodha, dr. 6) jostled with each other and at the same moment  ABBEY (S. Zervan, dr. 8) shifted inwards and made contact with JOLEENE (T. S. Jodha, dr. 6), who had to be checked and dropped back.  Thereafter ABBEY further shifted in on to UNDISPUTED (Neeraj Rawal) who in turn made contact with ARIZONA SUN (Suraj Narredu).

 

Soon after the start, WIND AND STARS (App. N. Nadeem, dr.11) was observed to have shifted in, going across the field on his inside. App. N. Nadeem has been severely cautioned.

 

Passing the 150 metres, ARIZONA SUN (Suraj Narredu) shifted in, forcing SUNNY SEA (App. S. J. Sunil) to be checked and drop back.

 

VIA AMORIS (R. Vaibhav) and TAP DANCE (A. Sandesh) were observed to have hung out in the straight. Trainers A. M. Jadhav and Rehanullah Khan have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

 

After the race, Jockey Y.S. Srinath (FREE SPEECH) reported that he did not get a clear passage in the straight and was held up for a run.

 

After the race, ARIZONA SUN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that ABBEY was examined at the stables in the morning on 28/12/2015 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the filly had a cut injury at the left hind cannon. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TAP DANCE, WIND AND STARS (examined on 28/12/2015) and VIA AMORIS were found to be sound.  WIND AND STARS had a cut injury at the left hind cannon, VIA AMORIS had a cut injury at the left hind cannon and JOLEENE had a cut injury at the left hock.

 

RACE NO.9(94)– THE JEHANGIR P.DUBASH TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  14

 

On the way to the start, GOVERNOR GENERAL (A. Sandesh) dislodged the rider and bolted past the winning post, further travelling to the 1400 metres mark on the back stretch. The gelding was caught at the 2000 metres mark. After consent of the Trainer, GOVERNOR GENERAL was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

Soon after the start, DEVILS RIDE (R. Shelar dr. 6) and CRITICS CHOICE (Malcolm Kharadi dr. 5) shifted in and out respectively and made contact.

 

At 250 metres, SHINING MELODY (P. Trevor) was observed to have hung in despite the Jockey’s efforts and went across MARCUS AURELIUS (S. Sunil), inconveniencing the latter. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, BIDSTONE HILL and SHINING MELODY were found to be sound.

AMAZON CAT (1st race), EARL GREY (2nd race), BOLD MARCH (3rd race), PARAMOUR (4th race), SHIVALIK SHOWERS (5th race), BABYLON (6th race), PHOENIX KNIGHT (7th race), UNDISPUTED (8th race) and CRITICS CHOICE (9th race), as also that of BOOKER JONES and MOUNTBATTEN (5th race) and the special sample of ITSCARO (6th race) and ARIZONA SUN (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: ACCEPTING A HORSE IN TWO RACES ON THE SAME DAY

 

Tr. Vinesh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge FLYING TRIGGER in two races on the same day.  As per the General Conditions published in the Prospectus, FLYING TRIGGER was permitted to run in The Sprungli Plate.
