RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST.

 

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinayak to saddle his charge WALKING TALL and SPECIAL FX in the 5th and 7th race respectively, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1 (85) - THE AMBER ROYAL PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres.  Runners -  7

 

At the start, STAR BURST (Suraj Narredu) jumped out awkwardly outwards and went on to GRANT PARK (D.S.Rathore) who lost position.

 

Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs.1000/- for using a Rubber Bit on his charge LAURUS PRIDE, for the use of which, no prior intimation was received.

 

Trainer Adil Dajee was questioned with regard to the poor performance of his charge STAR BURST. The Trainer explained that the horse had worked well and therefore he had given him a chance but the horse did not produce the work out in the race. He added that possibly the horse became favourite considering the work out and Jockey Suraj Narredu riding. He added that the going may not have suited the horse as the horse ran on the Monsoon Track for the first time. Also, the horse was a maiden till date. When asked about the drift of odds on his charge, he added that GRANT PARK was backed in the race and that may have been the reason for the drift of odds. The explanation was noted.

  

After the race, GRANT PARK was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR BURST & KATRINA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 2 (86) – THE GIRONDE PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners - 7

 

Soon after the start, DICTATOR (Dashrath Singh) was inconvenienced due to lack of room while racing between PRINCE OF TROY (Ladjadj Stephane and LAGO MEDIO (C Rajendra) and made contact with PRINCE OF TROY on a couple of occasions and was steadied and lost position.

 

DICTATOR (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Since the gelding had returned sore, no action was initiated in the matter.

After the race,  AMBEROGIO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DICTATOR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, LAGO MEDIO & GATRAVAT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 3 (87) – THE GOLFING PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 7

 

At the start, OCEAN ADMIRAL (S.Zervan) shifted ground outwards despite the Jockey’s effort and made contact with MAHIMA (R.Shelar).

 

Soon after the start, OCEAN ADMIRAL (S.Zervan) was forced to shift in as LAKE WINNIPEG (Suraj Narredu) shifted ground inwards, which resulted in FLYNG JEWEL (J.Pradeep) being inconvenienced. Jockey Suraj Narredu has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race, OCEAN ADMIRAL was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 4 (88) – THE ODDS ON TROPHY: About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 6

 

At the start, ARES (D.K.Ashish) jumped out awkwardly outwards and jostled with STAR WARRIOR (P.Kamlesh).

 

After the race,  STAR WARRIOR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO 5 (89) – THE AEROBICA PLATE:   (About) 1200 Metres.   Runners – 9

 

Trainer M.Narredu has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge ROSE BOWL without the required clearance from the Starters. The horse was struck out at Acceptance stage.

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, GLORIA was examined on 1000 hours on the race day (27/08/2011) and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MIDNIGHT CLUB (App.Kavraj Singh) charged the Gates prematurely.

 

CELTIC MANOR (T.S.Jodha) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, SILVER SOUL (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and made contact with STEELY DAN (Dashrath Singh) and later carried the latter on to MARINE ZONE (P.S.Chouhan) who was jostled with, and in the process STEELY DAN lost position. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race,  SILVER SOUL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MARINE ZONE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 6 (90) – THE PIAGGIO GENERAL RAJENDRASINHJI MILLION: About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 6

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (LAKE PARADISE) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer Vinayak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, MARAUDER & LAKE PARADISE were found to be sound.

 

LAKE PARADISE (Suraj Narredu) was placed fifth and MARAUDER (C.Rajendra) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO 7 (91) – THE SPECIALIST PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres.   Runners – 8

 

At the start, MOUNTAIN TREASURE (J.Chinoy, dr.4) jumped out outwards and at the same time SPECIAL FX (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) shifted inwards carrying GENEVIEVE (Kishore Kadam, dt.6) inward who jostled with MOUNTAIN TREASURE.

 

After the race, SALT was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 8 (92) – THE NORTHERN COMMAND PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres.   Runners – 12

 

At the start, KING’S TROOP (S.Zervan) drifted outwards and hampered the running of LAKE COMO (D.S.Rathore).

 

KALINGA STAR (Ishwar Pardeshi) jumped out awkwardly and tardily, losing ground at the start.

 

Soon after the start, CIRCUS RING (S.Sunil) shifted in before the Red Marker and in the process went on to ASLAN (C.S.Jodha) who was steadied, as such Jockey S.Sunil has been fined Rs. 3000/-.

 

Approaching 400 metres, KALINGA STAR (Ishwar Pardeshi) was inconvenienced as LAKE COMO (D.S.Rathore) shifted inwards. Jockey D.S.Rathore has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Approaching 600 metres, CAVALRYMAN (App.A.Sandesh) shifted in and hampered the running of RADICAL MACKIE (App.P.Trevor). App.A.Sandesh has been reprimanded for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockey J.Chinoy (OCEAN TOUCH) reported that his mount lugged in during the race. Trainer Vinayak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, OCEAN TOUCH & KING’S TROOP were found to be sound, KING’S TROOP had lost its right fore plate.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd, 4th & 6th race viz. LAKE WINNIPEG, CIEL INDIENNE and MADDOX as also that of STAR OF GIBRALTAR & SARATOGA SPRING (6th race) and the special sample of STAR BURST (1st race), AMBEROGIO & GATRAVAT (2nd race), STAR WARRIOR (4th race), SILVER SOUL (5th race), LAKE PARADISE (6th race), SALT, MOUNTAIN WIND, MOUNTAIN TREASURE, DOUBLE DIAMOND & HENNESSY (7th race) and RADICAL MACKIE (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Tuesday, 23rd August,  2011 interviewed Tr.Shyam Habbu  who was accompanied by his Spokesman, Mr.K.N.Dhunjibhoy, regarding the positive report dated 18th August,  2011 from Equine Forensic Unit, Dubai, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge CINDERELLA, which read as under :-

“THE ANALYSIS HAS CONFIRMED THE PRESENCE OF BOLDENONE IN THIS SAMPLE”  

 

At this meeting, Tr.Shyam  Habbu was  handed over a copy of the above report. He was requested to inform to the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample i.e. latest by 28th August, 2011  whether he wished the split sample of his charge CINDERELLA to be sent to HFL Sport Science, England,  The Hong Kong Jockey Club Laboratory or L.C.H., France,, for Confirmatory Analysis and also the name of the Witnessing Analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the Primary Laboratory as conclusive.

The Stewards at their meeting held on Tuesday, 23rd August, 2011 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards/Sr.V.O. in the above enquiry and having heard Trainer S.K.Sunderji, decided to reserve their judgement. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to meet the Stewards on Tuesday, 30th August, 2011.
