RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMACE OF “NUMISMATIST” (WINNER) IN RACE NO. 274 – THE MEMORIES OF YOU PLATE - RUN ON SUNDAY, 20TH MARCH 2011 AS COMPARED TO HIS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO. 185 RUN ON 6TH FEBRUARY 2011 WHERE THE HORSE RAN UNPLACED – TRAINER SUBHAG SINGH:

When questioned, Trainer Subhag Singh stated that this horse is a 5 year old and this was his maiden victory. In the past he has tried this horse in different distances, however, the horse had not shown any impressive performance except in previous Mumbai Season where he finished 2nd in 2000 metres. On suggestion of different riders he had used different equipment in the workout and since they were not suiting the horse he had not applied for them and noticed that without any special equipment the horse was working well. The only change he had done this time was that he had used all four steel plates and explained that in the previous Mumbai Season he had chipped his hoof from the rear side and thereafter he had to give his horse rest for about 2 months and later Pune Season started running the horse with hind bare.

Since the horse was not showing good performance he had decided to run the horse with all four steel plates and that may have helped the horse to run a good race and came out and won. When asked to explain the odds which opened at 7/1 and closed at 4/1, Trainer Subhag Singh stated that he had given this horse a chance and was of the opinion that considering the field his horse should finish on board and had even told people who asked him, however, he was surprised with his winning.

When questioned regarding the change of rider from T.S.Jodha and Vikram Jodha in the past to Jockey Y.S.Srinath this time, he said that he wanted to declare Jockey Vikram Jodha this time also, however, Vikram Jodha informed him that on Sunday, 20th March 2011 he had some personal work and would be in Pune and therefore he looked for other good riders and keeping in mind that jockey Y.S.Srinath had ridden this horse in the previous Mumbai Season, he approached him for the ride. He further informed that before declaration jockey Vikram Jodha came to him and informed that he was not going to Pune on this weekend and requested for the ride to which he informed him that it was too late to change the jockey as Y.S.Srinath had already confirmed the ride.

The Stewards considered the above report and decided to caution Trainer Subhag Singh to be more careful in running of his horses.

RE: ENQUIRY IN TO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “BORN DESTINY” IN RACE NO 288 RUN ON 24TH MARCH 2011 – TRAINER JAYANTILAL K GOR AND JOCKEY HARISH:

Trainer Jayantilal K Gor and Jockey Harish were questioned regarding the running and riding of BORN DESTINY. The Jockey was observed to have been feeble in his riding effort in the straight. The Jockey was instructed to be in 4th, 5th or 6th and do your best in the straight. The Jockey explained that near 300 metres, YOUNG OFFENDER crossed him as his mount coming in to the strides and then he had a wall of horses in front of him and he did not get a clear run. Near 100 metres, he did not get a clear run while racing behind SIOOUX CHIEF and VICTOR IVANOV. The Trainer opined that near 300 metres, when the horse was coming in to the strides, the gelding was checked and thereafter in the last 100 metres, the horse was not good enough to take the gap.

The Stewards considered the above report and having viewed the race, decided to caution Jockey Harish.
