RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(279) – THE GOWARDHAN AYUR FARMA CUP: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 5

ICE CUBE BABY (A. Sandesh) walked out of the stall and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. The filly had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start and was passed in a Mock Race. In view of her repeated similar behavior, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in two mock races, before next accepting with her to race.

At the start, AIRCO (S. Zervan dr. 1) jumped outwards on to VIXEN (Neeraj Rawal dr. 2) who in turn went on to KANDINSKY (P. Trevor dr. 3).

At the top of the straight, ICE CUBE BABY (A. Sandesh) was observed to have drifted out and had to be steadied.

After the race, ICE CUBE BABY and VIXEN were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(280) – THE Y.M.CHAUDHRY MEMORIAL CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5

Soon after the start, LORD GRANTHAM (P. Trevor) shifted in due to which SPANISH EYES (App. Bhawani Singh) had to be checked.

Passing the 250 metres, SMART N NOBLE (A. Sandesh) shifted out thereby inconveniencing LORD GRANTHAM (P. Trevor).

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (WINDHOEK) reported that his mount was inclined to run out in the straight. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures.

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (LORD GRANTHAM) reported that his mount ran green.

After the race, LORD GRANTHAM, SPANISH EYES and WINDHOEK were trotted and found to be sound. SPANISH EYES had a cut injury at the left fore fetlock and right fore cannon.

RACE NO.3(281) – THE LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL’S CENTENNIAL CUP: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners – 8

Turning for home, JORDANA (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out at the same time UNCLE SCROOGE (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby inconveniencing JORDANA (App. S. A. Amit). Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned and asked to be more careful in the future.

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (ASPEN) reported that soon after the start his mount shied away from the other horses and shifted out, thereby inconveniencing UNCLE SCROOGE (P. Trevor).

RACE NO.4(282) – THE LIONS INDIA EDUCATION PROMOTIONAL COUNCIL CUP (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8

MR FORD (M. A. Roushan) was fractious and refused to be stalled, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge MIDNIGHT RUN late into the paddock.

Trainer Arif Patel has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge THERE SHE GOES late into the paddock.

At the start, NIRBHAYA (App. S. A. Amit dr. 7) jumped outwards on to MIDNIGHT RUN (Kishore Kadam dr. 8).

Approaching the 1000 metres, THERE SHE GOES (Kiran Naidu) was observed to have overreached the front runners and had to be checked due to which she shifted in, inconveniencing FAST FUTURE (Shrikant Kamble).

After the race, Jockey Kishore Kadam (MIDNIGHT RUN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of VENI VIDI VICI (T. S. Jodha) and a report will be submitted shortly.

RACE NO.5(283) – THE MANAPPURAM FINANCE CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

At the start, ADRENO (N. Rawal dr. 4) drawn between DRAMARAMA (App. Santosh G. dr. 3) and JUNE (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5) was tightened and dropped back.

Approaching the 400 metres, HIS HIGHNESS (P. Trevor) shifted out onto SAMBA WARRIOR (J. Chinoy). Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

Passing the 150 metres, SUMAAQ (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to JUNE (Neeraj Rawal) who was tightened along the rails and had to be checked. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

After the race, App. Santosh G. (DRAMARAMA) reported that his mount was not galloping in the straight.

After the race, DRAMARAMA was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(284) – THE GOWARDHAN FOUNDATION CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 8

At the request of Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi, TOUGH ENOUGH was examined at 0810 hours on 26/03/2016 and was found to have a painful capped elbow on the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V. O. before next accepting to race.

AME (A. Sandesh) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

GENEROUS LADY (Neeraj Rawal) took a fly jump thereby losing about a length at the start.

At the start, OLIVIA KASPEN (T. S. Jodha dr.1) was observed to have jumped out awkwardly.

At the start, HORSE POWER (Sandeep Jadhav dr. 3) threw its head up as the start was affected

At the start, ELEKTRA KING (S. P. Ranjane dr. 4) jumped inwards and made contact with HORSE POWER (Sandeep Jadhav dr. 3)

At the start, ROYAL SAPPHIRE (App. H. Zeeshan dr. 8) shifted in thereby cutting across AME (A. Sandesh dr. 7) who had to be steadied.

At about 900 metres, due to a tightly packed field OLIVIA KASPEN (T. S. Jodha) had to be checked and dropped back.

Passing the 200 metres, SPEEDO (Dashrath Singh) shifted out under pressure thereby inconveniencing GENEROUS LADY (Neeraj Rawal).

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (CRACKLIN’ ROSIE) reported that his mount hung out. Trainer has been asked to take remedial measures.

After the race Jockey Neeraj Rawal (GENEROUS LADY) reported that in his opinion the filly was not comfortable and had an awkward action.

After the race, HORSE POWER and GENEROUS LADY were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(285) – THE NALLI CHINNASAMI CHETTY CUP : (About) 1200 Metres– Runners – 10

Trainer C. Rajendra’s charge KING OF KILLEN (S. Zervan) had proceeded to the starting gates with Ear Plugs. As the permission to use the same was not obtained, the Ear Plugs were removed at the time of loading, after questioning Trainer C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.3,000/- for the lapse on his part.

In the last 50 metres, MAKINO (Dashrath Singh) shifted out on to IRISH BAILEY (A. Sandesh)

After the race, IRISH BAILEY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.8(286) – THE LIONS INDIA EDUCATION PROMOTIONAL COUNCIL CUP (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

At the start, PRAELECTOR (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5) jumped inwards and made contact with ABSOLUTE JEWEL (A. J. Nilesh dr. 4).

At the start, ASAHI (App. Shahrukh Khan dr. 9) shifted in and made contact with AINRA (Kishore Kadamdr dr. 8).

Approaching the 1000 metres, ABSOLUTE JEWEL (A. J. Nilesh) shifted in due to which NOBLE LADY (A. Sandesh), racing between WINGS OF GLORY (P. Trevor) and ABSOLUTE JEWEL was tightened for room and dropped back. Jockey A. J. Nilesh has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (WINGS OF GLORY) reported that his right foot had slipped out of the stirrup in the last 150 metres.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of WINDS OF CHANGE (Vikram Jodha) and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, AINRA, NOBLE LADY, ABSOLUTE JEWEL and ASAHI were trotted and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. AIRCO (1^st race), SMART N NOBLE (2^nd race), UNCLE SCROOGE (3^rd race), DAZZLING DANCER (4^th race), HIS HIGHNESS (5^th race), CRACKLIN’ ROSIE (6^th race), MAKINO (7^th race) and WINGS OF GLORY (8^th race), and the special sample DRAMARAMA (5^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
