At

An objection
was lodged by Jockey A.Sandesh, rider of TENNESSEE
(Placed Fourth) against COMMITMENT (App.S.J.Sunil,
Placed Second). The reason being, at about 350 metres,
COMMITMENT (App.S.J.Sunil) shifted out and bumped him
whereby he had to check his mount or else he would have fallen and this
incident cost him the second place as he would have beaten COMMITMENT.
After
considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with
that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the
Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing as under:-
AZADEGAN
-
FIRST;
TENNESSEE
-
THIRD;
LIMEKILNS
-
SECOND;
COMMITMENT
-
FOURTH
The
Stewards after the last race interviewed App.S.J.Sunil,
who was accompanied by his Master, Tr.Sanjay Kolse, for dangerous riding on COMMITMENT. Having heard
them and viewing the video of the race, the Stewards
were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App.S.J.Sunil.
Taking an overall view the Stewards of the Club decided to suspend his
Apprentice Jockey’s license w.e.f. 14th
January, 2016 to 6th February, 2016 (both days inclusive) for
dangerous riding on COMMITMENT (permitted to ride work/mock race). In
that, at approximately 350 metres he pulled his mount
out to make his move and in doing so, bumped TENNESSEE (A.Sandesh)
who in turn went on to KOAL (App.D.S.Daman) and both
the horses lost position and this incident nearly caused an accident.
Thereafter, COMMITMENT again shifted out and made contact with TENNESSEE (A.Sandesh) who in turn went on to KOAL. Further, App.S.J.Sunil has been told to work harder to improve his
riding skills under the guidance of the Riding Instructor, Mr.Aslam
Kader.
