RACE DAY REPORTS

 

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 1.5 METRES WIDE FROM 900 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST.

 

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha to saddle his charges  ORIENTAL ROCKY, SUMO and MENAGE A TROIS in the 2nd, 5th and 7th race, at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(241) – THE  IRISH BOSS PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Subhag Singh, PRECIOUS OPINION was examined at 0815 hours on 26/10/2013 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

CLIFFS OF MOORE (Nirmal Jodha) and AQUA ARIA (I.Pasha) were slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths each at the start.

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (STAR FORCE) has been fined Rs 1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

AQUA ARIA (I.Pasha) scrapped the rails in the last 100 meters of the race.

 

After the race, PARIS and MISS BEHAVE (examined on 27/10/2013) were found to be sound. PARIS had a cut injury at the right fore cannon and  UMARKOT had a cut injury at the left hind pastern. 

 

RACE NO.2(242) – THE  TRM – GNF GOLD CUP (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

TICKER TAPE PARADE (P.Kamlesh) and STORMYDAY (Kishore Kadam) were slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths and 4 lengths respectively.  Tr.Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give his charge STORMYDAY more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ORIENTAL ROCKY (R.Vaibhav, dr.1) jumped out awkwardly and went on to NIRBHAYA (App.Sandeep Jadhav, dr.2) who in turn went on to WALK OF LIFE (R.Shelar, dr.3) and in the process NIRBHAYA made contact with ARAVALI (Dashrath Singh, dr. 4).

 

After the ORIENTAL ROCKY was observed to have lost its left fore plate and ARAVALI had lost its right hind plate. STORMYDAY and WALK OF LIFE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(243) – THE  THUNDERING POWER PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

                                       

At the request of Trainer Ivor Fernandes, THUNDER STAR was examined at 0945 hours on 26/10/2013 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

CORNELIAN (I.Pasha) was standing awkwardly in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Near 300 meters ACE OF DIAMOND (J.Pradeep) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of STRIKING SHADOW (Akshay). Jockey Akshay has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 200 meters, ARABIAN CROWN (Vikram Jodha) stumbled and fell, due to which ASHWA YODHAA (Nirmal Jodha) who was following, was pulled up to avoid colliding with the fallen horse.

 

Jockey I.Pasha (CORNELIAN) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race STRIKING SHADOW was scoped at the Equine Hospital at the request of Trainer Mansoor Shah and no abnormality was detected.

 

After the race, CURIOSITY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that ARABIAN CROWN collapsed near 200 metres. On examination, the gelding was found to be sore from the right fore leg. First aid treatment was given and the gelding was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance, for further management.  Subsequently, the Equine Hospital reported that the horse had suffered catastrophic fracture of the right shoulder bone and was euthanized at the Equine Hospital on humane grounds.

 

RACE NO.4(244) – THE THUNDERING POWER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

                                      

EYE OF THE TIGER (V.Chandrakant) was slowly out, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Tr.Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MOON RAKER, MY DIVA, ANNABETH and EYE OF THE TIGER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(245)  – THE  ALLIED FORCES PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Soon on entering the straight, CHARLOTTE RAY [IRE] (Dashrath Singh) lugged out for a brief period and carried RUNNING SUN (App.Sandeep Jadhav) outward. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Near 700 meters MIGHTY KING (C.S.Jodha) leaned outwards and went on to SENORA BELLA (P.Trevor) who went on to SUMO (Kavraj Singh), who in turn went out to DICTATOR (N.S.Parmar). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Passing 200 meters MIGHTY KING (C.S.Jodha) shifted out and jostled with DICTATOR (N.S.Parmar) who in turn jostled with CATHARSIS (Imran Chisty). Jockey C.S.Jodha was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey C.S.Jodha and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 17th November, 2013 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race),

 

App. Sandeep Jadhav (RUNNING SUN) has been fined Rs 1,000/- for allowing his mount to shift out in the final 100 meters and in the process jostled with CATHARSIS (Imran Chisty).

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that MIGHTY KING was examined at the stables after the race and was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(246) – THE  CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 22 Runners                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

 

MAQSAD (Vikram Walkar) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Tr.M.K.Jadhav has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GUNS N ROSES (V.Chandrakant) jumped out awkwardly, losing ground.

 

App.S.Mosin (ICE SKATES) has been reprimanded for shifting in soon after the start and inconveniencing ST BARTZ (Shrikant Kamble).

 

Near 800 meters SUNSHINE HEART (App.Prasad) shifted in and hampered the running of ST BARTS (Shrikant Kamble), who went on to WINDSOR QUEEN (C.S.Jodha), who in turn hampered STAR ZONE (I Pasha). App.Prasad has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 200 metres, CAPTAIN SMART (Nirmal Jodha) lugged in and hampered the running of SUNSHINE HEART (App.Prasad). Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Trainer H.J.Antia, when questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge ICE SKATES, stated that this time the gelding ran over 1000 meters as compared to 1200 meters on the previous occasion, which may have suited the gelding as he was in contention till about 200 meters from home in the previous race. Further, he had claimed a 3.5 kg allowance this time which was to the advantage of his charge. He further added that the gelding has run after 20 days. To another question, he stated that he had fancied the gelding in the previous start as well but he had packed up in the final 300 meters. He said that this was a maiden win of ICE SKATES.

 

The Stewards having considered the above report, directed the Stipendiary Stewards to conduct further enquiry and submit a report.

 

After the race, EDGE OF GLORY, MOUNTAIN TREASURE, FLAMING HEART and CAPTAIN SMART (examined on 27/10/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(247) – THE  TRM – GNF GOLD CUP (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners

 

UCHESHRAWA (App.Prasad) was slow in the stride, losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, INSIGNIA (S.Zervan, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to TELL ME MORE (I.Pasha, dr.3).

 

Soon after the start, QUEEN OF VENUS (App.Sandeep Jadhav) shifted in and carried INSIGNIA (S.Zervan) inwards, who in turn tightened DIVINE INSPIRATION (Imran Chisty) who lost position. App. Sandeep Jadhav has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching 600 metres, GATES OF HEAVEN (Dashrath Singh) clipped the heels of INSIGNIA (S.Zervan) and stumbled.

 

After the race, GATES OF HEAVEN, DIVINE INSPIRATION, QUEEN OF VENUS and SATINGO were found to be sound. GATES OF HEAVEN had a cut injury at the right fore bulb of heel and MAUNA KEA had a cut injury at the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.8(248) – THE  COOLMORE MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

VICTORIA FALLS (P.Trevor) was inclined to lug-in during the race and while negotiating the bend went on to ROSIE SUNSHINE (P.Kamlesh) on a few occasions. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, PRETTY HOT was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind coronet.  VICTORIA FALLS was found to be sound.

 

MINT APPROACH (A.Sandesh) was placed fifth and QUEST FOR LOVE (Dashrath Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.9(249) – THE  IRISH THOROUGHBRED MARKETING & GOFFS R.W.I.T.C. LTD. GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (OCEAN AND BEYOND) reported that he did not get a clear run in the early part of the straight.

 

After the race, AN ACQUIRED TASTE and WINDS OF FORTUNE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(250)  – THE  CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 22 Runners

 

WINDSOR (V.Chandrakant) walked out of the gate, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, WAVES OF MAGIC (Amyn Merchant) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (COSMIC DANCER) reported that he did not get a clear run in the straight and could not ride out to advantage.

 

Near 200 metres, THREE ROSES (I.Pasha) suddenly ducked out and caused SAN RAFAEL (S.Sunil) to travel wide.

 

App.Prabhu Naidu (STARRY OCEAN) reported loss of whip near 200 metres.

 

After the race, SAN RAFAEL and WINDSOR (examined on 27/10/2013) were found to be sound.

STAR FORCE, ORIENTAL ROCKY, MONTREAL, KEUKENHOF and ONASSIS, as also that of  REMEMBER ME & DYNAMO (8th race) and OCEAN AND BEYOND & AN ACQUIRED TASTE (9th race) and the special sample of PARIS (1st race) and CURIOSITY (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RACE NO.8(173) – THE  RAMBUS PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 22ND SEPTEMBER 2013

 

Jockey A.J.Nilesh, the Declared Rider for VALOROZKY, did not report at the Scales in time, therefore he was substituted by Jockey J.Pradeep and an inquiry was initiated in the matter.  

After enquiring in the matter Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been fined Rs.3,000/- for declaring a Jockey without his consent.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “DARK KNIGHT” IN RACE NO.228 – THE YOGENDER SINGH TROPHY (DIV.I) RUN ON 18TH OCTOBER, 2013 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 26th October, 2013 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. They interviewed Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey V.Chandrakant and having considered the submissions made, including Jockey V.Chandrakant’s letter dated 21st October, 2013  in reply to the Show Cause issued to him, and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey V.Chandrakant and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount DARK KNIGHT. The Stewards noted that entering the home straight he made no effort to ride out his mount and when the horse shifted in under use of the whip, he made no effort to change his whip hand but preferred to stay behind the front runners and did not give the horse a clear run. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 17th November, 2013 to 26th December, 2013 (both days inclusive).

RE : POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF ch g “PLAYER” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.196 – THE TOBLER PLATE RUN ON SUNDAY, 6TH OCTOBER, 2013 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 26th October, 2013 interviewed Tr.Jayantilal K.Gor regarding the positive report dated 24th October, 2013, from the H.F.L. Sports Science Laboratory, New Market, UK, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge PLAYER (Winner) in Race No.196 – The Tobler Plate run on Sunday, 6th October, 2013 which read as under :-

 

 “THE CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS WAS PERFORMED USING DOCUMENTED HFL METHODS, WHICH IDENTIFIED THE PRESENCE OF 16B-HYDROXYSTANOZOLOL, A METABOLITE OF STANOZOLOL, IN THE URINE SAMPLE”  

 

At this meeting, Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample, whether he wishes to sent the split sample for confirmatory analysis to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Lab  or L C H, France, for Confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the primary laboratory as conclusive.

 

Tr.Jayantilal K.Gor was also asked to conduct his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.V.O. of the Club, as and when he would be required to.
