RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 8 METRES WIDE FROM 2400 METRES TO 2200 METRES, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2200 METRES TO 1600 METRES, 2 METRES WIDE AT 1400 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES, 7 METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES THEREAFTER 9 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Nosher Cama, permission was granted to Trainer Behram Cama to saddle his charge SCORCESE in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer Nosher Cama’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1(52) – THE AMOROUS KNIGHT PLATE: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS -  4

 

Passing the 2000 metres, SEA THE SUN (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have been in discomfort and subsequently stopped galloping. After the race, Sr. V.O. reported that on examination the colt was found to be sore by left hind, as such, was treated and sent to the Equine Hospital for further investigation at which time was observed to have sustained an injury on his left hock. The colt has to be passed fit by Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 600 metres, KIEFER (App. Mustakim Alam) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing GANGSTER (T. S. Jodha). App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, ZARAK was found to have abrasion on left fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.2(53) – THE INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF EQUINE PRACTITIONERS TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  10

 

At the start, FREMONT (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) jumped outwards onto SCORCESE (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) and they made contact.

 

Soon after the start, STREET SENSE (Vivek G.) shifted in and went across ART COLLECTOR (Akshay Kumar) and MOONLIGHT KISS (App. Mustakim Alam) causing both the horses to be checked thereafter ARMOURY (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening STREET SENSE along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back due to which MOONLIGHT KISS racing on its haunches had to check and change course thereby bumping and forcing ART COLLECTOR outwards, in the process App. Mustakim Alam was observed to have lost control momentarily due to which he further shifted out forcing ART COLLECTOR outwards onto TEE TEE DEE (M. S. Deora). Subsequently on questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Passing the 350 metres, MOONLIGHT KISS (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out under urgings and made contact with ART COLLECTOR (Akshay Kumar) thereafter MOOLIGHT KISS leaned in onto STREET SENSE (Vivek G.). Subsequently on questioning, App. Mustakim Alam stated that his mount was running green. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARMOURY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(54) – THE WESTERN INDIA RACE HORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS -  7

 

On the arrival at the start in the process of mounting Jockey S. G. Prasad (WINDERMERE, dr.3) reared up and got lose and ran towards the winning post and was apprehended near 800 metres. Since the gelding has run considerable ground, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi was contacted and with his due concern the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. 

 

On arrival at the start on a request from Jockey Amyn Merchant his mount ASHWA MAGADHEERA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

After the race, FOREVER was found to be in distress accordingly the treatment was given in saddling enclosure. The filly has to be passed fit by Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that FOREVER was found to have sore – right eye.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ASHWA MAGADHEERA was found to have ulcer – right eye.

 

RACE NO.4(55) – THE INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF EQUINE PRACTITIONERS TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES –RUNNERS- 11

 

AXIS (J. Chinoy, dr.9) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, RISING POWER (A. K. Aniket, dr.4) jumped outwards thereby bumped ENCHANTING EMPRESS (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.5) forcing it outwards onto RICOCHET (T. S. Jodha, dr.6).

 

Approaching the 200 metres, NEILINA (S. Zervan) shifted in onto ARIYANA STAR (App. Haridas Gore) causing the latter to be steadied. After questioning Jockey S. Zervan stated that his mount was hanging in. Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 200 metres, WANDERLUST (K. Nazil) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and forcing GODDESS OF DAWN (Akshay Kumar) outwards. Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

In the final stages of the race, MALET SPRING (H. M. Akshay) leaned in thereby tightening WANDERLUST (K. Nazil) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey H. M. Akshay has been cautioned.

 

After the race, GODDESS OF DAWN was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have sustained an injury on right fore fetlock.

 

After the race, MALET SPRING was found to have abrasion on right hind cannon.

 

RACE NO.5(56) – THE WESTERN INDIA TRAINERS ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, ARIES was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area at 09.10 a.m. on 25/08/2023 and was found to be sore by left hind, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, DEMETRIUS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.11) played up and dislodged its rider. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Sr. Veterinary Officer who certified him fit to race. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

GINSBURG (A. S. Peter, dr.9) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, MONARCHY (K. Nazil, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same time OCEAN OF GOD (T. S. Jodha, dr.6) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, CIPHER (A. K. Aniket) and NORTHERN SINGER (App. Mustakim Alam) were observed to have jostled.

 

Passing the 400 metres, BLAZING BAY (Vishal N. Bunde) weakened and dropped back due which MONARCHY (K. Nazil) racing on its haunches had to check and change course as a result bumping and inconveniencing CIPHER (A. K. Aniket).

 

After the race, MONARCHY was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ANIMOUS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GINSBURG was found to have sore – left eye and ulcer – right eye.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that COMMANDMENT was found to have sore – both eyes.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MONARCHY was found to have sore – left eye.

 

RACE NO.6(57) – THE JOCKEYS ASSOCIATION OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (ATTAINED) reported that he was held up for room in the straight and could not ride out his mount to complete advantage.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st & 6th race, viz. GANGSTER & WHATSINANAME, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
