RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(271) – THE JACQUELINE DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 2
Jockey A. Sandesh (B FIFTY TWO) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for receiving the trophy in colors other than those of the winning connections.
The Sr. V.O. reported that after completion of the race, B FIFTY TWO showed symptoms of distress on the track. The gelding was washed with cold water and given First Aid on the track after which the gelding recovered and was taken to the Sampling Yard in a Horse Ambulance and his urine sample was collected, being a winner.
After the race, JIGSAW was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(272) – THE J.P.VAZIFDAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 5
At the start, VULCAN (S. Zervan dr. 1) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing STAR COMRADE (App. Bhawani Singh dr. 2) and PURE SIN (A. Sandesh dr. 3).
Passing the 750 metres, MIKAYLA (P. Trevor) shifted in and inconvenienced VULCAN (S. Zervan) who was travelling along the rails.
Jockey P. Trevor (MIKAYLA) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for receiving the trophy in colors other than those of the winning connections.
RACE NO.3(273) – THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 11
At the start, MAD HATTER (N. S. Parmar dr. 3) was observed to have stumbled thereafter shifted in on to WESTERN LIGHTS (App. S. A. Amit dr. 4).
At the start, PRETTY IN PATPONG (App. N. Nadeem dr. 8) shifted in and went across PARADISE (Nirmal Jodha dr. 7). App. N. Nadeem has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, PRETTY IN PATPONG (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in on to PADMAKOSA (P. Trevor) who had to be checked.
After the race, App. Parbat Singh (SONG OF AFRICA) reported that his mount was lugging in and had brushed the rails on two occasions. Trainer Magansingh P. Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ESPADA (App. S. Joseph) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SONG OF AFRICA and PARADISE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(274) – THE COTSWOLD ARMS PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 10
Passing the 1400 metres, GOLDSMITH (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to DANCING SPLENDOUR (S. Mosin) who was tightened along the rails.
Passing the 200 metres, PALATIAL (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to have drifted out thereby cutting across SOU’WESTER (S. Zervan) who had to be checked. On questioning Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount was running erratic in the straight. Trainer C. D. Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, PALATIAL and DANCING SPLENDOUR were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(275) – THE R.M. & RUKMANI GOCULDAS MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 5
Soon after the start, BRYNHILL (Santosh G.) shifted in and went across PAPAKURA (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of CONGRESSIONAL (Dashrath Singh) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, DANCING PRANCES and CONGRESSIONAL were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(276) – THE RAJCOOMAR GUJADHUR MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 12
At the start, QUICK ANGEL (App. Raghuveer Singh dr. 7) jumped outwards and made contact with ALIBOXER (A. Sandesh dr. 8) who was inconvenienced thereafter FOREVER YOURS (P. Trevor dr. 9) shifted in and cut across ALIBOXER (A. Sandesh dr. 8).
At the start, PASS THE GLORY (App. S. A. Amit dr. 6) jumped inwards and made contact with ASHWA ADITEE (S. G. Prasad dr. 5).
At the start, ALFREDO (App. Santosh G. dr. 10) jumped outwards on to RELENTLESS PURSUIT (Hanumant Singh dr. 11).
150 metres after the start RELENTLESS PURSUIT (Hanumant Singh) shifted in due to which ALFREDO (App. Santosh G.) shied in on to PASS THE GLORY (App. S. A. Amit). Jockey Hanumant Singh has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, ASHWA ADITEE (S. G. Prasad) was observed to have stumbled and thereafter shifted out alarmingly and made contact with ALIBOXER (A. Sandesh). After the race, on questioning, Jockey S. G. Prasad stated that his mount had become very keen and in an effort to settle had overreached and clipped the front runners thereby stumbling and thereafter despite his efforts the filly hung out. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with it.
Approaching the 600 metres, RELENTLESS PURSUIT (Hanumant Singh) shifted in on to ALFREDO (App. Santosh G.) thereby inconveniencing the latter.
Passisng the 150 metres PASS THE GLORY (App. S. A. Amit) was observed to have shifted out on to ALIBOXER (A. Sandesh). On questioning, App. S. A. Amit stated that he felt his mount had an awkward action and had also stumbled.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of RELENTLESS PURSUIT (Hanumant Singh) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, ALIBOXER, QUICK ANGEL, PASS THE GLORY and ASHWA ADITEE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(277) – THE PLATINUM WORLD CHAMPIONS LEAGUE : (About) 1200 Metres– Runners – 7
At the start, FINAL ENCOUNTER (Dashrath Singh dr. 5) jumped outwards on to ABIGAIL (Akshay dr. 6), at the same time PHOENIX FIRE (App. Santosh G. dr. 7) shifted in on to ABIGAIL (Akshay dr. 6).
Soon after the start, STARDOM CALLING (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby inconveniencing FINAL ENCOUNTER (Dashrath Singh).
Approaching the 100 metres, PHOENIX FIRE (App. Santosh G.) shifted in on to EVIDENCE (P. Trevor). App. Santosh G. has been cautioned.
In the last 100 metres, STARDOM CALLING (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under pressure.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (STARDOM CALLING) reported that passing the 250 metres his whip came in contact with Jockey Dashrath Singh (FINAL ENCOUNTER) who was on his inside thereby he lost his whip.

After the race, PHOENIX FIRE, ABIGAIL and WIND CRAFT were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(278) – THE SMALL DESIGN COMPANY TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
CHOTE NAWAB (Anil Baandal) played up in the stall and was awkwardly stuck inside the gate. The gelding was taken out and withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s order. The gelding was given First aid treatment on the track and subsequently treated by the Equine Hospital Vets. Later the Chief Veterinary Officer, Equine Hospital, reported that being a case of fracture of cervical vertebrae, the gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after consent of the Trainer.
ROYAL CLASSIC (R.S.Deora) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. MAGICAL DANCER (Kishore Kadam) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (3. SAIL PAST) reported that he found his mount to be uncomfortable in the straight and therefore he did not persevere from about 300 metres.
Jockey A. M. Tograllu (CENTAURUS) has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for using
the whip in excess of the prescribed limit.
After the race, SAIL PAST, HURACAN and UNICO CORAZON were trotted and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. B FIFTY TWO (1st race), MIKAYLA (2nd race), VICTORIO (3rd race), PALATIAL (4th race), SOLOMON (5th race), ZAHRAZAN (6th race), PARAMOUR (7th race) and STREETJAMMER (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF THE RANDOM SAMPLE OF URINE TAKEN FROM 3-YEAR OLD gr g “DISRAELI” ON 22nd JUNE, 2015 – POSITIVE FOR “BOLDENONE:
The Stewards of the Club at their meetings held on 2nd February, 2016, 6th February, 2016 and 14th March, 2016 interviewed Trainer Bezan Chenoy along with his Spokesperson, Mrs. Bakhtawar B. Chenoy in the above connection. The Stewards considered all papers and proceedings before them, including his written submissions and the opinions from various Scientific Experts. The Stewards heard Tr. Bezan Chenoy / his Spokesperson as also his Witness Dr. Thomas Tobin. Having applied their minds to the entire facts and circumstances of the case and all submissions made, the Stewards held Tr. Bezan Chenoy vicariously responsible for breach of the Medication Rules governing the finding of BOLDENONE (an anabolic steroid) in the Random Sample of urine taken from his charge DISRAELI on 22nd June, 2015 and decided :-
a) To suspend his Trainer’s license for a period of 45 days i.e. w.e.f. 29th March, 2016 to 24th April, 2016 (27 days). Thereafter, should he apply for a license for the Season 2016/17, it will be granted to him, however, his license will stand suspended for a further period of 18 days starting from the first day of Pune Meeting 2016.
a) To fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/-

RE: APPEAL FROM JOCKEY S. ZERVAN AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 12th MARCH 2016 TO 26th MARCH 2016 IMPOSED ON HIM FOR UNSATISFACTORY RIDING ON “IN MY DREAM” IN RACE NO 176 – THE KUNIGAL STUD BREEDERS’ PRODUCE STAKES (GR. 3) – RUN ON 6th FEBRUARY 2016
In the Report that was printed in the Race Day Reports for Special Race Day, Sunday, 20th March 2016, it was mentioned that the Board of Appeal had decided, by majority, to partially allow the Appeal of Jockey S. Zervan.
It was inadvertently omitted that Mr. Shivlal Daga recorded his dissent as he wanted to uphold the decision of the Stewards of the Club.
