RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT
RACE NO.1(189) – THE HELLO! CLASSIC: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 4 - NO REPORT

RACE NO.2(190) – THE DR.GOOLAM E.VAHANVATI GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 8
BENEFACTOR (Suraj Narredu) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
ARC SHINE (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, MAN OF WORD (A. Imran Khan, dr.2) jumped outwards and made contact with MEDELLIN (C. S. Jodha, dr.3).
At the start, KEEP COMING ON (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) jumped outwards on to ARC SHINE (Amyn Merchant, dr.5). Thereafter, GAZINO (A.Sandesh, dr.6) shifted in and went across KEEP COMING ON (Neeraj Rawal) and ARC SHINE (Amyn Merchant). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (KEEP COMING ON) reported that his mount was inclined to run out throughout the race as such had to be steadied rounding the final bend.
After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (MEDELLIN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight.
After the race, KEEP COMING ON and MEDELLIN were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(191) – THE INTERVALVE POONAWALLA LTD. TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 8
JAGER BOMB (C. S. Jodha) was reluctant to proceed to the starting point. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures and ensure that the gelding reaches the starting point in time in the future.
SHE’S AN ACE (G. Amit) and OTHELLO (J. Chinoy) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths each at the start.
OTHELLO (J. Chinoy, dr.4) was observed to have reared up as the start was effected.
At the start, GERANIUM (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) jumped inwards and went on to SHE’S AN ACE (G. Amit, dr.2).
Approaching 2200 metres, SHE’S AN ACE (G. Amit) had to be held back to avoid clipping the heels of ASPEN (Bhawani Singh).
From the 200 metres, OTHELLO (J. Chinoy) was inclined to run out and had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey J. Chinoy reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Passing 150 metres, GERANIUM (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under pressure on to KITTY HAWK (Dashrath Singh) and was steadied.
After the race, SHE’S AN ACE and OTHELLO were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(192) – THE POONAWALLA BREEDERS’ MULTI-MILLION (GR.1): (About) 1400 Mtrs – Runners - 14
At the start, TIMELESS (A. Imran Khan, dr.6) jumped outwards on to AUTOCRATIC (P. Trevor, dr.7) who had to be steadied
At the start, PHOENIX FALCON (Colm O’Donoghue, dr.3) jumped outwards and went across LINCOLN (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4).
Passing 1200 metres, LINCOLN (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out inconveniencing AWESOME HOOVES (Y. S. Srinath).
Soon after the 1200 Metres Post, TIMELESS (A. Imran Khan) shifted in and tightened AUTOCRATIC (P. Trevor) along the rails.
Approaching 1000 metres, PHOENIX FALCON (Colm O’Donoghue) shifted out on to AWESOME HOOVES (Y. S. Srinath) who in turn shifted out inconveniencing TUTANKHAMUN (Suraj Narredu).
Passing 900 metres, EXCELLENT GOLD (Dashrath Singh) leaned inwards on to AUTOCRATIC (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.
Passing 800 metres, RUFFINA (David Allan) shifted out and carried EXCELLENT GOLD (Dashrath Singh) outwards.
Approaching 600 metres, TUTANKHAMUN (Suraj Narredu) shifted in inconveniencing TIMELESS (A. Imran Khan) who had to be steadied.
Passing 400 metres, AWESOME HOOVES (Y. S. Srinath) shifted out on to TUTANKHAMUN (Suraj Narredu). On questioning after the race, Jockey Y. S. Srinath stated that his mount was inclined to run out throughout the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
Passing 350 metres, RUFFINA (David Allan) shifted in and went across PERFECT STAR (P. S. Chouhan) who had to be checked. Jockey David Allan has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
Soon after passing the 300 metres, TUTANKHAMUN (Suraj Narredu) shifted in under the use of whip thereby bumping PERFECT STAR (P. S. Chouhan) and forcing him inwards, due to which ANGELS TOUCH (A. Sandesh) was tightened and had to be checked. After questioning Jockey Suraj Narredu and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, his Jockey’s license has been suspended one race day i.e. on 16th March, 2017 (permitted to ride work/mock race) and he has been fined Rs.30,000/- for careless riding.
After the race, AWESOME HOOVES, DRAGONMOSS, PERFECT STAR and TUTANKHAMUN were trotted and found to be sound.
SUMMER RAYS (C. S. Jodha) was placed fifth and PHOENIX FALCON (Colm O’Donoghue) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.5(193)–THE RUSI PATELTROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14
(THE HELLO! CLASSIC WAS RENAMED AS ABOVE)
TCHIBOUELA (G. Amit) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
ROYAL ACE (M. A. Roushan) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
VOULEZ VOUS (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Tr. Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
At the start, DEMOCRAT (Kishore Kadam, dr.13) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head and thereafter shifted inwards on to TOMAHAWK (S. J. Sunil, dr.12).
At the start, ADELINE (P. Trevor, dr.7) jumped inwards on to JARAMA (App. S. A. Amit, dr.6).
Soon after the start, ADELINE (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby tightening AIRLIFT (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (ZINFANDELLE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, Jockey M. A. Roushan (ROYAL ACE) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey P. Trevor (ADELINE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, JARAMA was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the mare is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, GREY FLANNEL, AIRLIFT, ZINFANDELLE, FURIOSA, ROYAL ACE and AMICUS CURIAE (examined on 27/02/2017) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(194) – THE SIR VICTOR SASSOON GOLD TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7
At the start, DANCING LORD (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 5) jumped outwards on to HEDWIG (S. J. Sunil, dr.6).
Passing 500 metres, CARBONARA (A. Imran Khan) shifted out thereby tightening HEDWIG (S. J. Sunil) who had to be checked. Jockey A. Imran Khan has been cautioned.
Jockey P. S. Chouhan (DANCING LORD) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, MISS SAIGON and MERABELLA were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(195) –THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9
At the start, ABBEY (Suraj Narredu, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time SERENITA (R. Ajinkya, dr.8) jumped inwards thereby tightening the horses drawn between them, due to which GREEK GODDESS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5), MISS ARAZAN (App. S. A. Amit, dr.6) and CEZANNE (Kishore Kadam, dr.7) were inconvenienced.
Passing 800 metres, MISS ARAZAN (App. S. A. Amit) veered outwards. On questioning, App. S. A. Amit stated that his mount hung out and had to be steadied. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Approaching 200 metres, ABBEY (Suraj Narredu) shifted out and went across ALLORA (P. Trevor) forcing the filly to be checked and change course. Jockey Suraj Narredu has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (QUIXOTIC) reported that his mount was not striding out freely and was uncomfortable.
After the race, SERENITA, GREEK GODDESS, MISS ARAZAN and QUIXOTIC were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th race, viz. BENEFACTOR, GERANIUM, RUFFINA and ABBEY, as also that of TUTANKHAMUN & TIMELESS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE : RACE NO.128 – THE ACADEMIC PLATE RUN ON THURSDAY, 19th JANUARY, 2017:
As per the Additional Report published in the Race Day Report of 22nd January, 2017, Trainer C. Rajendra was fined Rs. 1,000/- for having run his charge SABIQ in the above mentioned race without bandages , while the mare was declared to run with bandages.
Trainer C. Rajendra subsequently pointed out that in fact the mare did race with the bandages. The same was borne out from the CCTV footage of the paddock parade of the race in question and as such, the fine has been rescinded.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF WHIP BY JOCKEY J. CHINOY ON HIS MOUNT “MASSIMO” IN RACE NO.144 – THE KUNIGAL STUD BREEDERS’ PRODUCE STAKES (GR.3) – RUN ON 4th FEBRUARY, 2017:
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that Jockey J. Chinoy (MASSIMO) was observed to have lost his whip approaching 200 metres.
On questioning, Jockey J. Chinoy stated that approaching the 200 metres, his mount was inclined to run out and at the same time he had pulled out his whip and in the process of changing his grip from the forehand to the backhand position, it slipped out of his hand.
After having heard Jockey J. Chinoy and having viewed the blow up of the incident of the loss of whip, the explanation tendered by Jockey J. Chinoy was noted, however, he was cautioned to be more careful in the future.

RE : RUDE BEHAVIOUR ON THE PART OF JOCKEY Y.S.SRINATH TOWARDS OFFICIALS OF THE CLUB :
Jockey Y. S. Srinath was questioned in connection with his rude behavior with the Assistant Stipendiary Steward at the Starting Gates and thereafter his repetition of a similar behavior when questioned by the Stipendiary Steward on 12th February, 2017. Having heard Jockey Y. S. Srinath and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.10,000/- and severely cautioned for the future.
