RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. SQUARE MOON & YODHA SHAKTI in the 4th & 9th races respectively, at his (Trainer Magansingh P Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges ZANDER & MELINDA in the 7th & 8th races respectively, at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

 RACE NO.1(78) – THE  PARAGON PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5

 

After the race, GOLDEN BELLE and ROXELANA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(79) – THE N.M.IRANI TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

 

Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge STAR LIGHTNING late into the Paddock Ring, as the other horses left for the start.

 

STAR LIGHTNING (Colm O’Donoghue) stumbled at start.

 

Jockey Zameer Sayyed (JOY OF LIFE) reported that his mount leaned inwards throughout the race whereby he could not ride out his mount. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

Near 300 metres, SMART RAIDER (App.Bhawani Singh) shifted out and inconvenienced ZIPPY (Y. S.Srinath). App.Bhawani Singh has been asked to be more careful.

 

After the race, BLEND OF ELEGANCE was observed to have an injury at the right nostril.

 

RACE NO.3(80) –THE DECORATION TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 7

 

At the start, TRENDSETTER (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5) drifted outwards, due to which ANOTHER CONQUEST (App.Yash Narredu, dr.6) travelled wide.

 

Near 700 metres, TRENDSETTER (Neeraj Rawal) was tightened as WONDER STORY (R.Shelar) shifted inwards. Jockey R.Shelar has been cautioned.

 

RACENO.4(81) – THE  MASEEHA PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 5

 

After being stalled, SQUARE MOON (Kavraj Singh) reared up and fell and was awkwardly stuck inside the gate. The gates were opened and the colt was taken out. As recommended by the Club’s V.O. SQUARE MOON was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. ACE FANTASY (P.Trevor) who was in the adjoining stall, was also taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has  been asked to give his charge SQUARE MOON more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.  

 

DELIGHTFUL LADY (App.Bhawani Singh) took an awkward fly jump thus losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.  

Jockey Dashrath Singh (AL SHAMSHEER) reported that his mount was trying to run out through out the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the performance of ACE FANTASY and a report will be submitted shortly. 

 

After the race, ACE FANTASY was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the right hock.    

 

RACE NO.5(82) – THE ENORMOUS TROPHY: About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  13

 

Passing 800 metres, HIMALAYAN DANCER (Sandeep Jadhav) leaned inwards and went on to GLORIOUS CROWN (S.Mosin). Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

ZARAR (App.K.N.Bhati) lugged out while negotiating the bend and in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, RISING ANGEL was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DIAMONDZIP was observed to have a cut injury at the right hip. BLAZING FIRE and  SEEN IT ALL were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(83) – THE  CROW GAMING CHRISTMAS CUP (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 20

 

TEMPEST (Y.S.Srinath) was held up for a run from 400 metres onwards.

 

Near 300 metres, GASCONY (A.Sandesh) was tightened while racing between SANTA ANA (Prabhu Naidu) and PHELPS (Kavraj Singh).

 

CROSSFIRE (I.Pasha) did not get a clear run from 300 metres to about 100 metres.

 

Approaching 200 metres, GREY MIST (C.S.Jodha) suddenly ducked out and carried SPEAR OF TRIUM (Sandeep Jadhav) outwards.

 

Near 200 metres, DISCOURSE (S.Shinde) suddenly ducked in, due to which MOUNTAIN TREASURE (A.Ashhad Asbar) shied away and shifted in abruptly and went on to FAJR (App.G.Amit).

 

BRAZIL (Kishore Kadam) was held up for a run in the final 100 metres while racing on the inside of SPEED BABY (App.Akshay Gaikwad).

 

After the race, AUTUMN LOVE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DISCOURSE and ZUMI ZUMI were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.7(84) – THE  EDGAR DESYLVA TROPHY:(About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11

 

At the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla, EMPEROR OF FRANCE was examined at 1840 hours on 24/12/2014 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start BOMBARDIER (I.Pasha, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to ZOOM ZOOM (Kishore Kadam).

 

After the race, BARRINGO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(85) – THE  N.M.IRANI TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Dashrath Singh, rider of DRACO (Placed Second) against MELINDA (A.Sandesh, Placed First). The reason being, MELINDA shifted out in the last one and half furlongs and bumped him twice and unbalanced his horse, which cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned as also Mr.Bezan Chenoy, Trainer of DRACO, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing of the race as under :

 

DRACO                                    -           FIRST;             SOUL CENTRIC                       -           THIRD;

MELINDA                     -           SECOND;         KANDINSKY                -           FOURTH.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey A.Sandesh for careless riding on his mount MELINDA and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 14th January, 2015 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, MELINDA was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(86) – THE  CONRAD PEREIRA TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 15

 

Jockey J.Chinoy, the declared rider for SAVAGE GARDEN did not report at the Scales on time, as such he was replaced by Jockey S.Zervan. An Enquiry has been initiated in the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

GRACIOUS (Kishore Kadam) was restless in the stall. SABERCAT (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled and leaned heavily on to the rear flaps of its stall which were closed with much effort. Trainers B.Prakash and Dallas Todywalla have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey A.Sandesh, rider of STRAWBERRY CRUSH (Placed Second) against FIREPROOF (C.S.Jodha, Placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres, FIREPROOF shifted in from the centre of the track and came on to him, whereby he had to stop riding, check his mount and pull him out, which cost him the race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

Near 400 metres, SAPORELLI (P.Trevor) was held up for a few strides due to lack of room.

 

When questioned, App.Yash Narredu (FLYINGANGEL) stated that in anticipation of FIREPROOF (C.S.Jodha) shifting in, he was unable to ride his mount to the Post. After viewing the race, App.Yash Narredu has been cautioned for failing to ride out his mount to the finish.

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (FIREPROOF) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Since the horse was lugging in and the whip was used as corrective measure, no action was initiated in the matter.

 

FIREPROOF (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight and near 400 metres, BURLESQUE (D.K.Ashish) was tightened while racing on the inside of former. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, BURLESQUE was found to be sore by the left hind leg. Also, the filly had a cut injury at the left hind tendon. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CASINO JACK, SINDBAAD and GRACIOUS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(87) – THE  CROW GAMING CHRISTMAS CUP (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 19

 

At the request of Trainer Bezan Chenoy, ALFREDO was examined at 1700 hours on 24/12/2014 and was found to have tendinitis on both fore legs and was sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

Jockey A.Sandesh (LUCKY CHARM) reported the loss of whip near 200 metres.

 

After the race, HUNT FOR HEADS and STARRY OCEAN were found to be sore by the right fore leg and left fore leg respectively.  Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PRAELECTOR was found to be sound.

SHIVALIK VIEW, GLOBAL ICON, FIREPROOF and TINOGONA, and the special sample of ARRIVEDERCI (2nd race), STATEIRA (3rd race), BLACKBEAN, HIMALAYAN DANCER & TWO OCEANS (5th race), GREY MIST (6th race), ZOOM ZOOM & SOLOMON (7th race), SAMSON (8th race) and STRAWBERRY CRUSH & SABERCAT (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT/S:

RE: HORSE OBSERVED TO HAVE BROKEN A BLOOD VESSEL AFTER MORNING TRACK WORK :

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that NEW WORLD was observed to have broken a blood vessel after morning track work on 22/12/2014. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPRATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “HAIL THE KING” IN RACE NO 53 RUN ON 7TH DECEMBER 2014 AS COMPARED TO ITS EARLIER RUN IN RACE NO 21 RUN ON 23RD NOVEMBER 2014 – TRAINER HOSIDAR DAJI

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Hosidar Daji in the above connection. Tr.Hosidar Daji stated that the instructions to the Jockey were similar in both the outings, that is, to be well up and do his best. He said that the reasons for the improved performance in Race No.53 were that this time the gelding ran in a lower Class i.e. IV which was a restricted race for horses 4-years old and over whereas the previous run was in Class-III with good 3-year-old horses. He said that he had declared the same Jockey on both the occasions and the gelding was not fancied and was at longer odds. He added that the gelding had a set back during the last Mumbai Meeting and had not raced for an extended period. He said that the gelding had not enjoyed the New Monsoon Track at Pune and  was subject of an enquiry for its poor races during the just concluded Pune Meeting.

 

Keeping in mind that the gelding had run in a similar manner in both the races and having scrutinized the betting sheets, the explanation tendered by the Trainer was noted and no action was initiated in the matter.
