ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “EMPEROR OF FRANCE” (A.SANDESH) IN RACE NO.10 - THE ALOUETTE PLATE (1200 METRES) RUN ON THURSDAY, 18TH JULY, 2013 :
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Dallas Todywalla in the above connection. Trainer Dallas Todywalla said that he had five fancied runners during the week and all ran badly, three having finished on board and two horses EMPEROR OF FRANCE and LA TRAVIATA finishing way behind and he was disappointed with their performance. He said that all his horses were on extra additives during the off season and they all looked healthy and had worked brilliantly and hence he had fancied them and he could not pin point any particular reason why they performed badly.
He said that EMPEROR OF FRANCE went to the front but in the last 200 metres he was flat and dropped back. He said that the horse had come back sound and he had got him scoped at the Club’s Equine Hospital and he was found to be clean. As an after thought, he now felt that possibly his horses are a bit thick and even the Jockey had informed him of the same. He said that he has asked for the blood picture to see if every thing is right with the horses internally. Trainer Dallas Todywalla added that another reason he could think of was that, they were all younger horses who were running in open company, with top weight and they may have not handled the going well.
After scrutinizing the betting sheets and the Log Books, the explanation tendered by Trainer Dallas Todywalla was noted.

ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “LA TRAVIATA” (A.SANDESH) IN RACE NO.17 - THE VICTORIA FALLS PLATE (DIV.I) (1000 METRES) RUN ON FRIDAY, 19TH JULY, 2013 :
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Dallas Todywalla in the above connection. Trainer Dallas Todywalla said that as already explained in the earlier case of EMPEROR OF FRANCE, he could not think of any particular reason why his filly LA TRAVIATA ran so poorly. He said that the filly looked healthy and had worked very well and he had fancied the filly and he had told Jockey A.Sandesh that he is drawn-14 in a big field and to try to go to the front which he was unable to do. He said that the filly had come back sound but she had a swelling on the eye which he had treated. Trainer Dallas Todywalla said that as already explained in the earlier enquiry, he now felt that possibly his horses are a little thick and he has asked for the blood picture to see if every thing is right with the horses internally.
After scrutinizing the betting sheets and the Log Books, the explanation tendered by Trainer Dallas Todywalla was noted.
