RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS  WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE  CHUTE)  UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer J.S.Dhariwal, permission was granted to Trainer S.S.Attaollahi to saddle his charge AIRPLAY the 5th race, at his (Trainer J.S.Dhariwal‘s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Suresh Chavan to saddle his charge VIVA ZAPATA the 8th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (294) – THE ARCTIC LIGHT PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 4

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (TARA) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight for a brief period. Since the veterinary examination revealed that the mare was sore by the left fore leg, no further action has been initiated in the matter. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2 (295)  – THE  JIMMY BHARUCHA TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 7

 

After jump out, MISTER MEDDLE (Altaf Sayyed) stopped galloping and took no part in the race. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in his previous race, Trainer D.J.Surti has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

DÉJÀ VU (Nirmal Jodha) hung out in the straight and raced along the outer rails. Since the gelding has behaved in a similar manner in its last two starts, Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock race, before next accepting to race.

 

HOME FACTOR (Neeraj Rawal) hung out in the straight. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey S.Zervan (STEP UP) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Trainer M.Narredu has been fined Rs.1000/- for taking his charge BARRINGO away from the Paddock before the All Clear was given.

After the race, ANGELS QUEST was found to be sound but having a gum injury. DÉJÀ VU and HOME FACTOR were found to be sound. STEP UP had a cut injury at the right hock.

 

RACE NO.3 (296) – THE DYNASTY PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres - Runners – 10

 

ANAHI (A.Sandesh) refused to proceed to the Starting gate and in the process played up and fell down near 400 metres marker. On examination, the filly was observed to have suffered abrasions / bleeding injuries at the left knee and at the right hock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to school his charge to proceed to the start in time

 

VICTORIOUS CAUSE (Deep Shanker), EROTIC FLAME (D.A.Naik) and SOURCE CODE (B.Sreekanth) hung outwards thereby placing their respective Riders at a disadvantage. Trainers Ivor Fernandes, Mansoor Shah and Karthik G. have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

 

RISING POWER (Neeraj Rawal) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

After the race, SOURCE CODE and VICTORIOUS CAUSE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (297)  – THE DIEGO RIVERA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 8

 

Jockey A.J.Nilesh (GLOWING STAR) reported that his mount was inclined to run out during the race. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, GLOWING STAR and TOLSTOY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (298) – THE KARL UMRIGAR TURF CHAMPIONSHIP: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 6

 

At the start, NATIVE KNIGHT (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards. AIRPLAY (N.S.Parmar, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards  and went on to CIELO REY (C.Ruzaan, dr.5).

 

Jockey C.Ruzaan (CIELO RAY) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, CIELO REY was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (299)  – THE BANGALORE TURF CLUB LTD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

 

Between 1100 metres and 1000 meters, BULLET (App.Prasad) and RAJASTHAN ROYALS (A.Sandesh) were crowded and were steadied due to a tightly packed field.

 

Near 300 metres, RAJASTHAN ROYALS (A.Sandesh) shifted out and in the process jostled with WHITE KNIGHT (D.K.Ashish), who in turn made contact with DEMONSTRATOR (Ishwar Pardeshi). Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.3000/- .

 

After the race, BULLET was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (300) – THE KNOCK-KNOCK PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres–Runners –  11

 

At the request of Trainer Sanjay Kolse, HURRICANE BIRD was examined at 1000 hours on 25/03/2012 (Race Day)  and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Approaching 400 metres, SIZZLING LOVE (Nirmal Jodha) was inconvenienced when SOLID ROCK (A.Ashhad Asbar) shifted inwards. Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of CUBA and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.8 (301) – THE V.R.MENON PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 12

 

MY LUCKY STAR (A.Ashhad Asbar) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Near 1100 metres, VIVA ZAPATA (V.Phadke) stumbled on its own.

 

Near 1000 metres, ASHWA YODHAA (Ishwar Pardeshi) clipped the hind heels of ANGELS TERN (B.Sreekanth) and stumbled.

 

After the race, RAJDOOT and MONEY FLASH were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  5th, 6th and 7th race, viz. ONASSIS, RAJASTHAN ROYALS and CUBA as also that of CIELO REY and BERLUSCONI (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
