 RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Vishal Gaikwad, permission was granted to Trainer P. Shroff to saddle his charges SO SPLENDID (3rd race) and SHAMWARI (4th race), at his (Trainer Vishal Gaikwad’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charges UNDISPUTED (4th race) and ANGEL COIN (7th race), at his (Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(244) –THE JAYANT M.SHAH PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 5 

 

After the race, VENTURA was found to be sore by the right fore leg.  The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2(245) – THE QUASAR TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 5

 

At the start, VULCAN (D. S. Daman, dr. 2) jumped outwards and went across UNCLE SCROOGE (N. S. Parmar) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Passing the 400 metres, ETERNAL SUNSHINE (C. S. Jodha) shifted out thereby inconveniencing FRIVOLOUS (Neeraj Rawal).

 

Jockey D. S. Daman (VULCAN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2017-18’, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of DAFFODIL (A. Sandesh) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.3(246) –THE KARL UMRIGAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7 

 

Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been fined Rs.3,000/- for late declaration in respect of his charge GRAND CHIEFTAIN.

 

After the race, Jockey Kishore Kadam (SO SPLENDID) reported that passing the 250 metres, his whip got entangled with the reins and in his effort to free the same his whip fell. This being his first instance, no action has been initiated.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (GRAND CHIEFTAN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2017-18’ he has been fined Rs. 5,000/-.

 

After the race, GRAND CHIEFTAIN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(247) –THE K.M.MUNSHI TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres–Runners - 8

 

At the start, SHAMWARI (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 5) jumped outwards at the same time VALENTINO (App. D. S. Daman, dr. 6) jumped inwards and they made contact. Thereafter, SHAMWARI (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 5) shifted in inconveniencing DOUBLE NINE (C. S. Jodha dr. 4).

 

Soon after the start, CLYMENE (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening SHAMWARI (App. H. Zeeshan) and GOD’S OWN (J. Chinoy). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, GANGNAM STYLE, VALENTINO and GOD’S OWN were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(248) –THE  R.M. & RUKMANI GOCULDAS MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 6

 

Trainer Bezan Chenoy was permitted to declare Jockey Dashrath Singh on his charge ST. ANDREWS. However, since Jockey Dashrath Singh was subsequently indisposed Jockey T. S. Jodha was permitted to be declared.

 

After the race, CONGRESSIONAL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(249) – THE SHAMAN MOTORS TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10

 

ALMOST MAGICAL (App. H. Zeeshan) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LOIRE (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr. 8) jumped inwards on to BESHIKTASH (App. R. Ajinkya, dr. 7).

 

At the start, DOMINATION (Kiran Naidu, dr. 2) jumped outwards and made contact with GRAN PARADISO (App. K. Nazil, dr. 3).

 

Passing the 800 metres, Jockey R. Ajinkya (BESHIKTASH) in an effort to settle his mount shifted out and inconvenienced CHARGING TIGRESS (App. D. S. Daman).

 

After the race, SLAM DUNK INCENTIO, BESHIKTASH and STALLONE were trotted and found to be sound. SLAM DUNK had an abrasion on the left hock.

 

RACE NO.7(250) – THE RAZA ALI PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 11

 

At the request of Jockey Nirmal Jodha, the saddle on his mount WILDCARD WARRIOR was adjusted on arrival at the start.

 

At the start, REPLICA (S. A. Amit, dr. 5) jumped inwards and made contact with THE OTHER SONG (T. S. Jodha, dr. 4).

 

At the start, STARR VERDICT (App. K. Nazil, dr. 8) jumped inwards onto PATHAN (A. M. Tograllu, dr. 7).

 

Approaching the 1200 metres, FLOWER DUST (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in and went across WILDCARD WARRIOR (Nirmal Jodha) who had to be checked. After questioning, App. H. Zeeshan has been fined Rs. 1,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, Jockey Nirmal Jodha (WILDCARD WARRIOR) shifted out under urgings thereby cutting across THE OTHER SONG (T. S. Jodha), REPLICA (S. A. Amit) and bumped ANGEL COIN (Amyn Merchant) forcing it outwards due to which PATHAN (A. M. Tograllu) had to be checked and drop back. After questioning not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Nirmal Jodha has been suspended for one race day i.e. 14th April, 2018 for careless riding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the improved performance of FLOWER DUST (App. H. Zeeshan) in this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, EMPIRE STATE, WILDCARD WARRIOR and PATHAN (examined on 26/03/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(251) – THE RAZA ALI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 12

 

At the request of Jockey N. Rawal, the saddle on his mount SMOKY HAZE was adjusted on arrival at the start.

 

At the start, ROYSTON ROCK (Amyn Merchant, dr. 2) jumped outwards and made contact with CAPTAIN ROY (T. S. Jodha, dr. 3).

 

At the start, DOUBLEDOWN (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 8) jumped inwards at the same time SMOKY HAZE (N. Rawal, dr. 7) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, START SCHOLAR (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 12) jumped inwards and went across LOVELY KUDI (D. A. Naik, dr. 11) who was steadied.

 

Passing the 1100 metres, SHAKIN STEVENS (C. S. Jodha) leaned outwards inconveniencing LORRAINE (Kiran Naidu) and STAR SCHOLAR (Neeraj Rawal).

 

The saddle used on SMOKY HAZE (N. Rawal) was observed to have slipped during the race. As the same was adjusted at the Starting Gate no action has been initiated against the Trainer.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (SHAKIN STEVENS) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. As such, Trainer Imtiaz. A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ROYSTON ROCK was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SHAKIN STEVENS, WHOOPSIDAISY and CAPTAIN ROY (examined on 26/03/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that at the behest of the Trainer, SHAKIN STEVENS was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and was found to have upper respiratory tract infection.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 5th, 6th and 8th race, viz. ETERNAL SUNSHINE, NEW ENGLAND, ALYATIES and FENCING, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
