RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer S. Ganapathy, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge LIGHTNING FLAME in the 1st race at his own (Trainer S. Ganapathy’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer M. K. Jadhav, permission was granted to Trainer A. M. Jadhav to saddle his charge GIMME in the 1st race at his own (Trainer M. K. Jadhav’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Faisal A. Abbas permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charges DALI SWIRL & CIPHER in the 1st race, SINGER SARGENT in the 6th race, ZUKOR in the 7th race and ANOUSHKA & KING OF KATNI in the 7th race.

 

RACE NO.1 (115) THE SAMUEL NATHAN PLATE  (ABOUT) 2400 METRES. - RUNNERS - 8

 

On the arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey P. Trevor, BEYOND MEASURE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and found to be sound, gelding came back sound after the race also.

 

Passing the 100 metres, it was observed that MICHIGAN (App. Mustakim Alam) drifted out despite Jockeys efforts and went across GIMME (N. S. Parmar). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AMBER KNIGHT was observed to have lost its right fore shoe. GIMME was trotted after the race and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (116) THE HYDERABAD RACE CLUB TROPHY (ABOUT) 1600 METRES - RUNNERS - 8

 

Passing the 250 metres, RUSH (P.S. Chouhan) leaned inwards thereby tightening BIG RED (A. Sandesh) along the rails causing the latter to be checked and change course. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (THE GODFATHER) reported that his mount was inclined inwards in the straight despite his efforts and he had to stop riding momentarily in order to correct him. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next to accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.3 (117) THE GREATER MUMBAI POLICE TROPHY (ABOUT) 1600 METRES  - RUNNERS - 10

 

Trainer Karthik Ganapathy reported that ANIMOUS played up while coming to the saddling enclosure. The mare was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O and found to be sore by right fore leg as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

MYSTERIOUS GIRL (K. Nazil, dr.2) jumped out slowly thereby losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 450 metres, CAMPAIGN (S. Saqlain) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing CHIEFTAIN (P. Shinde). Jockey S.Saqlain has been cautioned.

 

RACE NO.4 (118) THE KUMAR R. DALAL GOLD TROPHY (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

Passing the 300 metres RAFFAELO (A. Sandesh) drifted out and went across MAJESTIC WARRIOR (J.Chinoy) who had to be steadied. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (PRIDE’S ANGEL) reported that his mount was inclined inwards in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RAMBLER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ARCANA was observed to have bleeding injury on tip of the tongue.

 

RACE NO.5 (119) THE NARAYANDAS J. DAVE PLATE (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, GREAT GUNS (R.Ajinkya) and CIPHER (S. Saqlain) were observed to get keen and in their efforts to settle they were observed to have jostled. Thereafter CIPHER (S.Saqlain) leaned in and went across GREAT GUNS causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey S. Saqlain has been cautioned.

 

After the race, CIPHER was observed to have right side wolf tooth.

 

RACE NO.6 (120) THE DR. GOOLAM E. VAHANVATI TROPHY  (ABOUT) 1400 METRES -  RUNNERS -  14

                           

KIMIKO (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 10) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

Passing the 1200 metres, TYRONE BLACK (Mustakm Alam) leaned inwards thereby tightening ATTAINED (App. P. Shinde) along the rails. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 900 metres, OTELLO (App. A. S. Peter) leaned in and went across ATTAINED (App. P. Shinde) along the rails. Jockey A. S. Peter has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 500 metres BALENCIAGA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby inconveniencing KIMIKO (P.S.Chouhan). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, HAGIBIS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (121) THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY (ABOUT) 1000 METRES - RUNNERS - 12

 

Passing the 900 metres, HILAD (App.Haridas Gore) racing in between VICTORIA PEAK (Vishal N.Bunde) and INTENSE BELIEF (App.P.Vinod) was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

In the final stages of the race, RED RIOT (T.S.Jodha) was inclined outwards and at the same time C’EST L’AMOUR (App. A.K.Aniket) was inclined inwards due to which ZUKOR (A.Sandesh) racing in between was inconvenienced. Jockey T.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, VICTORIA PEAK was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey T. S. Jodha (RED RIOT) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

The urine samples of the winner of the 6th & 7th race, viz. SINGER SARGENT & RED RIOT, and the special samples of HAGIBIS (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: MORNING TRACK WORK ON 22ND FEBRUARY 2023.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that FARAHNOUSH was observed to have broken a blood vessel during the morning track work held on 22nd February 2023 and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2 (109) THE INDIAN AIR FORCE TROPHY – RUN ON 19TH FEBRUARY 2023.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, SANDMAN (Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SAN SALVATORE (K. Nazil) racing along the rails causing the latter to be checked. After the race on questioning Jockey Vishal N. Bunde stated that his mount was hanging-in in the straight despite his efforts. On being interviewed Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6 (106) THE N. M. IRANI TROPHY – RUN ON 12TH FEBRUARY 2023.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, it was observed that REMINISCENCE (P. S. Chouhan) changed course and came onto the rails thereby coming in front of ETOILE (S. Saqlain) who was dropping back at that stage. On questioning Jockey P. S. Chouhan, he has been cautioned and reminded to maintain a straight course in the future.
