RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 9 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 11 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(16) – THE KIARA PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8

 

STOLEN RELIC (A.Sandesh) lugged in during the race and passing 800 metres shifted in and inconvenienced DREAM WEAVER (Vikram Walkar). Tr.B.Prakash has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Near 700 metres, DREAM WEAVER (Vikram Walkar) scrapped the rails and was steadied.

 

Trainer S. K.Sunderji and Jockey B.Sreekanth were questioned regarding the riding of SOMBRERO in the final stages of the race. When questioned, Jockey B.Sreekanth stated that when he hit the front in the straight, he felt his horse loafed.  He said that In the last 10 metres, he felt he was beaten and that is why he was not vigorous as he would have liked to be and he sincerely apologized for the same.  The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

 

The Stewards interviewed Trainer S.K.Sunderji and Jockey B.Sreekanth and having heard them and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey B.Sreekanth.  However, considering that he had admitted his mistake and apologized for the same and had assured the Stewards that he would ride properly in the future and keeping in mind his past clean record at this centre, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.20,000/- for riding an injudicious race. Further, he was severely cautioned for the future.

 

After the race, MR MORRISON, STOLEN RELIC and SOMBRERO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(17) – THE VALLABHDAS  H.ADWALIA TROPHY : (About) 1800 Metres – Runners -  6

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, WORD OF HONOUR was examined by the Club’s V.O. at 1020 hours on 24/11/2013 and was observed to have Urticaria on the body, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

HOT PEPPER (Zameer Sayyed) lugged out in the straight. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching 800 metres, PUMBA (Amyn Merchant) shifted in and hampered the running of BONOBO (S.Sunil). Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

After the race, FIRST AND ONLY ONE and BONOBO (examined on 25/11/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(18) – THE  MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 4

 

At the request of Trainer Nina M.Lalvani, DOMINGO was examined by the Club’s V.O. at  1735 hours on 22/11/2013 and was observed to have Urticaria on the body, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

After the race, ANALEAH was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(19)– THE  ALGECIRAS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  5

 

FALCO NERO (C.S.Jodha) and DYNAMO (S.Zervan) lugged out in the straight. Trainers Dallas Todywalla and Janardhan have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge, before next accepting to race them.

Approaching 1200 metres, KEUKENHOF (Dashrath Singh) clicked the heels of FALCO NERO (C.S.Jodha) and stumbled. 

 

After the race, KEUKENHOF, FALCO NERO and DYNAMO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(20) – THE  SETH RAMNATH DAGA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 7

 

MONZA (Neeraj Rawal) tried to drift out at the start and then hung outwards while negotiating the bend and travelled wide. After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal reported that he found his mount difficult to ride. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of Stipendiary Stewards in the mock race, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 1000 metres, HAWAIIAN PRINCESS (C.S.Jodha) shifted inwards, due to which DÉJÀ VU (S.Zervan) was inconvenienced and steadied. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, EMERGING STAR was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern. WEIZHOU and MONZA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(21) – THE  METRO MOTORS AUTO HANGAR SIR H.M.MEHTA MILLION: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 5 

 

Jockey B Sreekanth (MURIOI) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift-in in the final 200 metres.

 

Near 200 metres CIRCLE OF LIFE (S.Zervan) shifted out in anticipation of MURIOI (B.Sreekanth) shifting in, wherein CIRCLE OF LIFE went across the heels of MURIOI and stumbled and while regaining its balance went on to MAJESTIC REWARD (Dashrath Singh).

 

After the race, CIRCLE OF LIFE was found to be sound. 

 

RACE NO.7(22) – THE SIR JAMSETJEE  JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres–Runners – 7

 

Soon after the start, RAVELLO (A.Sandesh) lugged in and went across FEISTY LASS (Fr’Co F Dasilva) who was steadied. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

ZANDER (Amyn Merchant) lugged out in the straight. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, RAVELLO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. Also, the gelding had wolf tooth on either side. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ZANDER was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern. PLAY FAIR was examined at the stables on 25/11/2013 and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(23)  – THE FETCHMEFORTUNE PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

 

Soon after the start, BLUE BAY (A.Sandesh) stumbled on its own.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (SONG OF AFRICA) reported the loss of his whip near the winning post.

 

After the race, BLUE BAY was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon. OVERTIME MAGIC and SONG OF AFRICA were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of the 3rd, 4th, 6th & 7th race viz. MONTREAL, DYNAMO, MURIOI and MAISHA, as also that of CIRCLE OF LIFE & MAJESTIC REWARD (6th race), and the special sample of SOMBRERO (1st race) and REVELLO (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
