On a request from Trainer Nazak Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Bezan Chenoy to saddle her charge AFFIRMATION in the 8th race, at her (Trainer Nazak Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(86) – THE ACCADEMIA PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Approaching 200 metres, HEAD OF STATE (B.Sreekanth) shifted out and caused HOT AS ICE (C.S.Jodha) to travel wide.

Near 100 metres, AMSTERDAM (Akshay) shifted out suddenly and forced HEAD OF STATE (B.Sreekanth) outwards.

 

Trainer Karthik G, when given an opportunity to explain the poor performance of HEAD OF STATE, informed that the Instructions to Jockey B.Sreekanth were to be in 3rd or 4th position and not to let him run away as the horse has a tendency to bolt. He added that though the gelding had not performed promisingly in its previous start, however, he had worked well and considering that this company was poor, he had fancied the gelding. The Trainer had no plausible explanation to offer for the poor performance on this day.

 

After the race, ALL GUNS BLAZING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AUGUSTYNA, HEAD OF STATE, ST BARTS and ALL GUNS BLAZING were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(87) – THE ASCOT LASS  PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 4 Runners

 

After travelling some distance from the start, RUNNING SUN (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and took the running of SUMO (R.Vaibhav) who was steadied. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been reprimanded. 

 

Jockey J.Chinoy (ZAKYNTHOS) has been cautioned for using his whip in an improper manner wherein he  used the whip on the shoulder of his mount in a fore hand position.

 

After the race, SUMO and BIZARRO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(88) – THE KILSHANNIG PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

                                      

SONG OF SPARROW (Akshay) shifted in before the Red Marker and carried ALBUURZ (Kavraj Singh) inwards. As such, Jockey Akshay has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, UNKNOWN REBEL (Vijay R.Kadam, dr.4) lugged out. Travelling some distance further, SO TRUE (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) and COLOURFUL PRINCE (C.S.Jodha, dr.3) lugged out and caused a chain reaction, wherein COLOURFUL PRINCE carried UNKNOWN REBEL outwards on to ASTROMIA (D.K.Ashish) who took TACHYON (Shrikant Kamble) outwards. Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha, Narendra Lagad and Dallas Todywalla have been asked to take remedial measures with their respect charge before next accepting to race them.    

 

Trainer Dallas Todywalla, when given an opportunity to explain the poor performance of COLOURFUL PRINCE, stated that the Instructions to Jockey C.S.Jodha were to be in the front position and to do his best. He observed that the colt ran in open company in Class III which may have been too good for him. Also, the colt had reared up in its Stall and missed the kick and he was used up in the early part. He further added that may be the colt did not get his run in the race and he had kept the gelding fresh coming into this race. He said that he would experiment with the gelding by giving a gap and running him over a trip. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, ALBUURZ, TACHYON and COLOURFUL PRINCE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(89) – THE CACOPHONY PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Trainer P.Shroff has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing his charge COLOSSUS without the bandages

 

CACTUS CASH (R.Vaibhav) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. 

 

After the race, WORD OF HONOUR and CACTUS CASH were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(90)  – THE SANS PAREIL PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Near 400 metres, MORALS (C.S.Jodha) shifted out to progress in the race and in the process made contact with ANNABETH (S.P.Ranjane). Jocket C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Jockey R.Vaibhav (MT TIANMEN) reported the loss of whip near 300 metres. This being the second occasion of loss of whip, he has been fined Rs.1,000/-.  

 

SAILOR (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey N.S.Parmar (PENNY LANE) reported that his Instructions were to be well up but the filly was not good enough to be positioned as instructed.

 

After the race, AVENTADOR was observed to have an abrasion at the left fore bulb of heel, SWASHBUCKLER had a cut injury at the left hind fetlock and PENNY LANE had lost its right fore plate. MOHEGUN SUN and SAILOR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(91) – THE NANA RAGHUNATH TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 8 Runners

 

SHEER ROMANCE (P.Trevor) lugged-in in the early part of the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, SHEER ROMANCE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(92) – THE  SANS PAREIL PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Jockey P.Kamlesh (PAPPILLON) reported that his mount did not get a clear run in the straight.

 

Jockey R.Vaibhav (RICOCHET) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey S.P.Ranjane (QUEST FOR LOVE) has been cautioned for showing Victory Sign before passing the Post. 

 

After the race, ACE CONNECTION, PAPPILLON, RICOCHET and ZORRO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(93) – THE POTENTIAL CHAMPION TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer S.K.Sunderji, VICTORIA FALLS was examined at 1030 hours on 24/08/2013 and found to be sore by the right fore leg and also had a bruise on the left quarter, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to produce the registered racing colours at the Scales in respect of his charge RESILIENT (V.Chandrakant). The Jockey wore the Emergency Colours i.e. All Black.

 

VANGUARD (A.Sandesh), DYNA (C.S.Jodha) and JAVELIN (Dashrath Singh) hung out in the straight thereby placing their respective Riders at a disadvantage. Trainers M.K.Jadhav, Faisal A.Abbas and M.Narredu have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge. 

 

After the race, DYNA was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. ANTARTICA ZONE, VANGUARD and JAVELIN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(94) – THE AL DENTE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

MAGIC MELODY (D.A.Naik) planted, losing a distance at the start. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, FOLLOW ME (App.B.Nikhil) and ANCIENT ODYESSY (Akshay) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with each other.

 

App.Prasad (VENEZIANO, dr.10) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for cutting across the field on his inside soon after the start.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey C.S.Jodha, rider of ARABIAN LORD (Placed Fourth) against FOLLOW ME (App,B.Nikhil, Placed Third). The reason being, at about 600 metres, FOLLOW ME came in sharply whereby he had to check his mount, which cost him a certain third place.

After considering the submissions made by App.B.Nikhil and his Master, Tr.Magansingh P.Jodha as also Jockey C.S.Jodha, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing of the race as under :-

 

HERZELIYAH            -        First;            ARABIAN LORD         -        Third;

WILD IMAGINATION   -        Second;         FOLLOW ME             -        Fourth

 

The Stewards interviewed App.B.Nikhil for careless riding on his mount FOLLOW ME and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, resolved to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s License for 8th September 2013 (permitted to ride work/mock race). 

 

After the race, FOLLOW ME was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. BASIC LIFE, CLOUD COVER, HERZELIYAH and VENEZIANO were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 1st, 3rd, 5th & 6th race, viz. STAR BUILDER, SO TRUE, SWASHBUCKLER and FORTUNE FAVOURS, and the special sample of ALL GUNS BLAZING & HEAD OF STATE (1st race) and ACE CONNECTION (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT :

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, ATTRIBUTE was scoped at the Equine Hospital on 22/08/2013 and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
