PUNE MEETING 2026, SPECIAL RACE DAY, FRIDAY, 24TH JULY, 2026.
(PENETROMETER: 4.6 (LONGCHAMP METHOD); GOING: YIELDING)
RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1600 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES. THEREAFTER RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
RACE NO.1 (8) – THE ISMAIL KHAN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
PRINCE IGOR (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.4) jumped out throwing its head up at the start.
At the start, RISE ALL STARS (App. S. Siddharth, dr.1) jumped out slowly and veered out despite the rider’s effort thereby losing considerable ground. In view of the behavior of the filly, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SKY FULL OF STARS (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.5) jumped outwards onto WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Pranil, dr.6).
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
SKY FULL OF STARS was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (9) – THE ATOMIC PRINCE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
BISHOP (App. S. Siddharth) was observed to have travelled wide in the early part of the race for no apparent reason. App. S. Siddharth has been cautioned.
After the race, BISHOP was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
FIGHTON was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.
RACE NO.3 (10) – THE DR. ANIL KUMAR SALVER - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
ILLUSIONIST (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.1) refused to stall, despite substantial efforts. As such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming the Starter’s order and Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
LIGHTING SPEAR (K. Nazil, dr.8) jumped out slowly and lost about a length at the start.
At the start, RUNNING AWAY (App. N. Bhosale, dr.9) was observed to have thrown its head up and dropped back.
Passing the 1000 metres, LATIOS (P. Trevor) shifted out onto ELOQUENT (S. Mosin) who in turn shifted out onto MINARI (Akshay Kumar) causing the latter to be checked. After the race Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 200 metres ORGANISED CHAOS (A. Sandesh) leaned outwards and went across CHARISSE (App. Kirtish Bhagat) who had to be steadied.
An objection was lodged by Jockey Kirtish Bhagat (CHARISSE) placed 3rd by the Judge against Jockey A. Sandesh (ORGANISED CHAOS) placed 2nd by the Judge, reason being, “In the final stages of the race, Jockey A. Sandesh shifted out took his ground, he had to stop riding for two to three strides and again when he pulled his filly inside, Jockey A. Sandesh shifted in due to which, he got interfered and lost 2nd position”. After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race from multiple angles and relying on their own observation of the race, the Stewards found the incident accidental and decided to overrule the objection and the order of placing remained unchanged.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ORGANISED CHAOS was observed to have an injury on its left nostril and muzzle.
LATIOS was observed to have an injury on its right hind cannon.
MINARI was observed to have an injury on its right fore tendon.
MILA was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.
RACE NO.4 (11) – THE WORLD'S OLDEST BARBERSHOP TROPHY - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
At the start, HEAVEN’S RHYTHM (S. J. Sunil, dr.2) jumped outwards at the same time QUEEN OF BEAUTIES (Akshay Kumar, dr.3) leaned in and they made contact.
After the race, Jockey Shrikant Kamble (WINGS OF FURY) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
QUEEN OF BEAUTIES was trotted and found to be sound.
CALIPH was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 (12) – THE CLASSIC TALK PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
SAFFRON GLOW (A. S. Peter, dr.4) threw its head up and lost about a length at the start.
At the start, ELEVATE (S. J. Sunil, dr.2) jumped outwards onto AMELIA EARHART (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.3).
Passing the 300 metres, BLUE EYED GIRL (P. Vinod) was observed to have leaned in and brushed the rails.
In final stages of the race, ELEVATE (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across TRANQUILA (Shrikant Kamble) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ELEVATE & AMELIA EARHART were trotted and found to be sound.
BLUE JET was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern.
ROCK ARMOUR was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.
The Equine Hospital reported the following:
BLUE EYED GIRL sustained a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.6 (13) – THE DR. ANIL KUMAR SALVER - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
ALEXANDRIA (App. S. Siddharth, dr.9) jumped out slowly lost about two lengths at the start.
GIANT GOLD (App. Aditya Waydande) threw its head up as the start was effected.
At the start, CHELSEA (App. Bharat Singh, dr.2) jumped outwards onto TREASURE GOLD (T. S. Jodha, dr.10) at the same time PINNACLE (P. Trevor, dr.5) leaned in and went across STORM MAJESTY (A. Sandesh, dr.4) due to which STORM MAJESTY and TREASURE GOLD were tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
Approaching the 200 metres, ALEXANDRIA (App. S. Siddharth) shifted out onto MARATHA ADMIRAL (N. S. Parmar) who in turn shifted out onto TREASURE GOLD (T. S. Jodha). App. S. Siddharth has been cautioned.
Jockey P. Trevor (PINNACLE) was observed to have used the whip in an excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
The Equine Hospital reported the following:
TREASURE GOLD sustained a right eye injury (sore).
LORENZO sustained a left eye injury (sore).
MAJESTICUS sustained a left eye injury (sore).
RACE NO.7 (14) – THE WORLD'S OLDEST BARBERSHOP TROPHY - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
ROSARIO (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.8) lost its footing and jumped out awkwardly at the start.
EMPEROR RODERIC (S. Mosin, dr.2) threw its head up, was slow to begin and lost about a length at the start.
Passing the 500 metres, EMPEROR RODERIC (S. Mosin) leaned out and carried ROSARIO (App. Kirtish Bhagat) outwards. Jockey S. Mosin has been cautioned.
Approaching the 200 metres, Jockey R. Ajinkya (ZAFFERANO) was observed to have lost his reins momentarily which he regained and in the process was observed to have veered outwards and went across ROSARIO (App. Kirtish Bhagat) who had to be checked.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
ROSARIO was trotted and found to be sound.
EMPEROR RODERIC was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. Further, it was also observed that the gelding had an injury on its right hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.8 (15) – THE UNICORN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
LAND OF PLENTY (J. Chinoy, dr.3) refused to stall, despite substantial efforts. As such, the horse was withdrawn before coming the Starter’s order and Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
ABSOLUTE MAJESTY (Shrikant Kamble, dr.6) took an awkward jump at the start.
Passing the 1300 metres, LITTLE JOHN (App. Haridas Gore) racing on the haunches of HAGIBIS (App. Ramswarup) was observed to have clipped the former and stumbled. App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.
Approaching the 600 metres, ANGE RAPHAEL (R. Ajinkya) leaned out and carried HAGIBIS (App. Ramswarup) outwards. Jockey R. Ajinkya has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, ANTINO (A. Sandesh) shifted out onto HER CHARGE (N. S. Parmar) who had to be steadied, thereafter ANTINO further shifted out and went across HER CHARGE causing the latter to be checked. On questioning Jockey A. Sandesh stated that the horses in front TAJIRI (P. Trevor) was in close proximity and in order to avoid clipping its heels he had shifted out which resulted in the interference the explanation was noted, however, Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (HER CHARGE) reported loss of whip at about 300 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2026, no action has been initiated.
Jockey Akshay Kumar (CARADOC) was observed to have used the whip in an excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

RACE NO.9 (16) – THE BEYOND EXPECTATION PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 13
GOLD BAR (App. Ramswarup, dr.2) refused to stall, despite substantial efforts. As such, the filly was withdrawn before coming the Starter’s order. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MADISON (App. Avinash Paswan dr.14) lost about two lengths at the start.
At the start, JAGGER (T. S. Jodha, dr.12) jumped outwards onto SIMOLA (Bhawani Singh, dr.13) who in turn shifted out onto MADISON (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.14).
After the race, App. N. Bhosale (TRAIL BLAZER) reported loss of whip at about 400 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2026, no action has been initiated.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:
BRAVO ZULU was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported the following:
BRAVO ZULU sustained a left eye injury (sore).
HIGHGROUND sustained both eye injuries (sore) and right eye with ulcer.
YULETIDE sustained a right eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 6th, 7th & 9th race, viz. EKLA CHOLO, PINNACLE, TYRANNUS & BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY and the special samples of SKY FULL OF STARS & BISHOP (1st race) and QUEEN OF BEAUTIES (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
