RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1800 TO 1400 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(105) –THE J.V. SHUKLA – ASHWAMITRA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5
At the start, WESTERN FRONT (David Egan, dr.5) jumped outwards and was steadied.
Approaching the 200 metres, TILL END OF TIME (A. Sandesh) shifted out on to FENCING (Dashrath Singh) carrying it marginally outwards.
After the race, WESTERN FRONT and FENCING were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(106) – THE ALLAIRE PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 6
At the start, RETAINED ASSET (App. Malam Singh, dr.1) jumped out brushing against its stall due to which App. Malam Singh lost his right stirrup which he regained soon after.
In the final stages of the race, NICOLLINI (Leigh Roche) shifted in under pressure thereby inconveniencing ROGUE ONE (App. P. S. Kaviraj) along the rails.
After the race, NICOLLINI was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(107) – THE RAJPIPLA TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 4
Passing the 1200 metres, AWESOME ONE (P. Trevor) shifted in on to ZENON (App. P. S. Kaviraj) tightening it along the rails forcing it to be checked and change course. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
After the race, FRIVOLOUS was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind fetlock. AEWESOME ONE was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.4(108) – THE Y.M.CHAUDHRY MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 6
After the race, while weighing in, it was observed that Jockey David Egan (SUCCESSOR) had dropped his surcingle in the paddock and the same was handed to him at the scale. Jockey David Egan has been severely reprimanded and asked to be more careful in the future.
RACE NO.5(109) – THE ISN’T SHE SPECIAL PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 11
GRAND SINATRA took an awkward fly jump.
Approaching the 400 metres, TOUGH COP (App. M. Ayyar) shifted out inconveniencing GRAND SINATRA (S. J. Sunil). App. M. Ayyar has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (GRAND SINATRA, dr.10) reported that he was not ready while the start was effected. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the above incident and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, App. Santosh G. (GRACIDA, dr.5) reported that his mount was slow at the start.
After the race, ABOUT THE CLOUD, GRAND SINATRA and BRIANNA (examined on 25/01/2020) were trotted and found to be sound
RACE NO.6(110) – THE DAMODARDAS C.SHAH TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11
On a request from Trainer Faisal A. Abbas CIPHER was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
After being stalled Jockey Santosh G. reported that the bit on his mount OUI SAUVAGE shifted to one side, as such the same was corrected.
BAKU was restless and not allowing its rider to settle in the stall. In view of above it is recommended the gelding be given more gate practice and to be shown to the satisfaction of the starter before next accepting to race.
At the start, GANDALF (App. K. Pranil, dr.3) jumped outwards and bumped DEL MAR (P. Trevor, dr.4) at the same time DIVINE GLORY (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.6) shifted in thereby tightening GODS PLAN (Akshay, dr.5) and DEL MAR (P. Trevor, dr.4) causing both to be checked. After questioning, App. P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs. 3,000/-
At the start, RESOLUTE (C. S. Jodha, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact with DIVINE GLORY (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.6).
Approaching the 400 metres, BAKU (S. Zervan) shifted out and went across PROPERLY POSH (Neeraj Rawal) who was inconvenienced. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.
Approaching the 300 metres, BAKU (S. Zervan) shifted out under pressure and bumped OUI SAUVAGE (App. Santosh G.). After the race, on questioning, Jockey S. Zervan reported that his mount shied outwards under the use of the whip. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Passing the 300 metres, DIVINE GLORY (App. P. S. Kaviraj) leaned inwards due to which PROPERLY POSH (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in forcing DEL MAR (P. Trevor) to be checked and change course.
Passing the 200 metres, in an effort to find an opening, DEL MAR (P. Trevor) shifted out sharply and carried GOD’S PLAN (Akshay) outwards. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (PULVERIZE) reported that his mount jumped out brushing against its stall due to which his right stirrup broke and thus he could not ride out his mount to complete advantage.
After the race, BAKU (examined on 25/01/2020) was found to have abrasion on the left fore cannon. CLARK KENT and RESOLUTE were found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.7(111) – THE M.M.T.PANDOLE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12
At the start, NAMAQUA (A. Sandesh, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with TENERIFE (S. A. Amit, dr.3).
Approaching the 400 metres, FINE TUNE (C. S. Jodha) shifted out on to SUPER MARIO (H. Zeeshan) thereafter passing 250 metres FINE TUNE shifted out and bumped IMPALA who was dropping. After questioning, Jockey C. S. Jodha has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
In the final stages of the race, MZILIKAZI (Leigh Roche) shifted out and brushed the haunches of CEZANNE (App. K. Nazil) and was steadied.
After the race, IMPALA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(112) – THE ISN’T SHE SPECIAL PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 11
IMPERIAL HERITAGE planted in the stall and lost considerable grounds at the start. In view of above it is recommended the gelding be shown in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the starter before next accepting to race.
At the start, PEERLESS (Akshay, dr.6) jumped inwards and went across DRAGONMOSS (Nirmal Jodha, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin.
Passing the 700 metres, SUPREME BEING (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted in on to DAZZLING EYES (C. S. Jodha) causing it to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been severely reprimanded.
After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (PAOLITA) reported loss of whip at about 400 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Mumbai Meeting 2019/20, no action has been initiated.
After the race, SUPREME BEING was trotted and found to be sound.

RE: MORNING TRACK WORK:
After the morning Track Work on 24th January, 2020, PATRIOT’S DAY was observed to have EIPH Gr. III. and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Friday, 24th January, 2020 considered appeal dated 10th January, 2020 from Jockey Nirmal Jodha in the above connection.
The Stewards considered all papers, documents and proceedings and having heard Jockey Nirmal Jodha along with his spokesman Mr. Adhirajsingh Jodha as also Trainer Vinesh, having viewed the video recording of the race and having deliberated the matter at length, decided to allow the appeal.

The Stewards considered all papers, documents and proceedings and having heard Trainer Vinesh, Jockey Nirmal Jodha along with his spokesman Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, having viewed the video recording of the race and having deliberated the matter at length, decided to allow the appeal.

RE: REQUEST FROM JOCKEY COLM O’DONOGHUE FOR DEFERMENT OF HIS PUNISHMENT – ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “KING SOLOMON” IN RACE NO.41 – THE VENUS DE MILO TROPHY(1800 METRES) RUN ON 21st DECEMBER, 2019:
Vide his letter dated 20th January, 2020 Jockey Colm O’Donoghue informed this office that he did not wish to appeal against the decision of the Stewards of the Club in respect of the suspension of his Jockey’s licence for two race days i.e. from 2nd February, 2020 to 9th February, 2020 (both days inclusive) for riding an injudicious race on KING SOLOMON and requested for deferment of the punishment since he had a confirmed ride on JULIETTE in The Kingfisher Indian Derby (Gr.1) to be run on Sunday, 2nd February, 2020.
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Friday, 24th January, 2020 considered the above matter and decided to accede to the above request. Accordingly, Jockey Colm O’Donoghue is free to accept rides on 2nd February, 2020 and his Jockey’s licence now stands suspended w.e.f. 9th February, 2020 to 13th February, 2020 (both days inclusive).
ERATUM
It has been erroneously mentioned in the race day reports of 18th January, 2020 that permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s runners in the 9th race.
