RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(62) –THE SPINOZA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

SHEER BELIEF (App.H.Zeeshan) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, NAME OF THE GAME (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and carried RARE SILVER (C. S. Jodha) inwards, due to which DIWALI LIGHTS (S. A. Amit) had to be checked. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (SMOKY HAZE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Jockey Hanumant Singh (TOP WIZARD) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, App. H. Zeeshan (SHEER BELIEF) reported loss of whip that passing the 200 metres. This being his first instance, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, ARVAN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GALTERO and TOP WIZARD were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(63) – THE GULAMHUSEIN ESSAJI TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

 

At the start, STAR BRIGHT (App. K. Nazil) jumped and did not raise an effective gallop and thereafter trailed the field. Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, TILL END OF TIME (P.Trevor) was observed to have reared up and hit the top frame of the gate.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (AUGUSTUS CAESAR) reported that his mount hung out in the straight as such he was unable to ride out. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MOUNT MCKINLEY was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the horse is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TILL END OF TIME and AUGUSTUS CAESAR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(64) – THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY:(About) 1000 Metres–Runners - 6 

 

Passing 100 metres, WISE CHILD (App. K.Nazil) shifted in thereby inconveniencing CONGRESSIONAL (Robbie Downey). App.K.Nazil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (ST. ANDREWS) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Tr.Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, WISE CHILD was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race ST.ANDREWS and WISE CHILD were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(65) – THE  MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1800 Metres –Runners- 5 

 

PHOENIX TIGER (S.A.Amit) took a fly jump.

 

Passing 100 metres, JACK FROST (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in under use of the whip thereby bumping and tightening RAEES (P. Trevor). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been suspended for two Race Days i.e. from 10th to 12th January, 2019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, CAPRISCA was trotted and found to be sound. However, the gelding was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.5(66) – THE  MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER’S CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners- 9 

 

At the start, BOMBSHELL (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.2) jumped and veered out thereby bumping and carrying SERENARA (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) outwards. In view of the erratic behavior of the gelding , Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, HIGHLAND EMPRESS (P. S. Chouhan) lost its footing and stumbled.

 

After the race, BRONCO BILLI was trotted and found to be sound.  The gelding had a cut injury at the right hind cannon.

 

RACE NO.6(67) – THE MASEEHA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 7

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik Ganapathy, MY PRECIOUS was examined at 1810 hours on 22/12/2018 and found to be sore by the right hind leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

SCRATCHMYBACK (J.Chinoy) planted in the stall and took no part in the race. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, FLEUR DE LYS (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have lost its footings and stumbled.

 

Soon after the start, NOTTING HILL (C.S.Jodha) shifted in on to HARMONY OF THE SEA (P.Trevor). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, FLEUR DE LYS and JIGAR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(68) – THE SPINOZA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

Soon after the start, MAKE IT SHINE (App. K. Nazil, dr.2) shifted out and carried ROYSTON ROCK (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.3) outwards on to SPONTANEOUS EDDIE (S. A. Amit, dr.4).

 

Passing 600 metres, ROYAL ACE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and went across MAKE IT SHINE (App. K. Nazil) causing the latter to stumble. After questioning, Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Passing 200 metres, GOLDEN HORDE (Santosh G.) shifted out under use of the whip and carried MAKE IT SHINE (App. K. Nazil) outwards.  Jockey Santosh G. has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for failing to change his whip hand despite his mount shifting out.

 

Passing 100 metres, ETERNAL DANCER (Shahrukh Khan) shifted out under use of the whip thereby taking the ground of BAY OF LOVE (App. M. Ayyar). After questioning, Jockey Shahrukh Khan has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. from 10th January 2019 to 12th January 2019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Apprentice K.Nazil (MAKE IT SHINE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, ROYAL ACE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, the gelding had a bruise at the right hind cannon. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that ANGEL THEA (App.Vishal N.Bunde) stopped galloping just before the Winning Post and the Jockey dismounted. The mare was observed to be bleeding from the nostrils. The mare is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th race, viz. RARE SILVER, BRONX, CLYMENE and JACK FROST, as also that of VULCAN (4th race), and the special sample of WISE CHILD (3rd race) and CAPRISCA (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
