On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charges DIVINE INSPIRATION, CLINTON & MACEDONIAN in the 3rd, 4th & 8th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge VIVA ZAPATA 8th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(82)  – THE  COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 8

 

AURARIA (D.K.Ashish) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ONLY WHITE (App.Sandeep Jadhav) was slow in the stride, losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, YOUR LORDSHIP (Kavraj Singh, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to TRUMP CARD (J.Chinoy, dr.3), who in turn went on to AURARIA (D.K.Ashish, dr.4). Shortly afterwards, AURARIA shifted out after being interfered and went on to BE COOL (Dashrath Singh, dr.5) and bored the filly on to VICTORIOUS CAUSE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) for a few strides. Due to the above, VICTORIOUS CAUSE, while regaining balance, shifted in and caused BE COOL to shift in. Jockey D.K.Ashish (AURARIA) has been cautioned.

 

AURARIA (D.K.Ashish) lugged out in the straight for a brief period. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

TRUMP CARD (J.Chinoy) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.                                 

 

After the race, AURARIA was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind cannon, BE COOL had an abrasion at the right hind coronet. AL ZAMARUD and ONLY WHITE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(83) – THE TRIBE@TURF TROPHY: (About)  2400 Metres – Runners - 5

 

At the start, MONEY FOR NOTHIN (D.K.Ashish) jumped out awkwardly.

 

ROMANTIC BEAUTY (Suraj Narredu) lugged in and DANSE DEBONAIRE (Dashrath Singh) lugged out in the straight. Trainers C.D.Katrak and Narendra Lagad have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race them. 

 

After the race, DANSE DEBONAIRE and ROMANTIC BEAUTY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(84) – THE G.ESSAJI TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 8

 

At the start, IBIS (P.Trevor, dr.5) was converged upon as DIVINE INSPIRATION (R.Hughes, dr.6) jumped inwards and ICE BEAUTY (Suraj Narredu, dr.4) jumped outwards despite the effort of their Riders.

 

After the race, ICE BEAUTY was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind pastern. SOLI DEO GLORIA and IL MORAN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(85) – THE  NAWABZADA RASHIDUZZAFAR KHAN TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 4

 

Near 300 metres, CLINTON (S.Zervan) lugged in and inconvenienced ANGEL CROWN (C.S.Jodha). Trainer Shyam S. Habbu has to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

RACE NO.5(86) – THE P.M.RUNGTA GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

 

Just before the start, Jockey A.Sandesh (KING JULIEN) caught the side bar in anticipation that his horse might rear up, resulting in KING JULIEN jumping out riderless.

 

CENTRESTAGE (J.P.O’Brien) kept an erratic course in the final stages of the race.

 

Jockey Vikram Jodha (BRAVE VISION) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for pretending to use the whip on his mount which may have resulted in him losing 2nd Place, considering the short verdict of a Head between the 2nd and 3rd Placed horse. 

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after completion of the race, KING JULIEN hit the outer railing near the Track Attendant’s cabin. On examination, the gelding was found to have suffered a cut injury on the left side of the breast. First Aid Treatment was given and the gelding was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance, for further management.  The trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(87) – THE ALLAH RAKHKHA GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres  – Runners - 10

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Dashrath Singh, rider of  TRANCE (Placed Second) against REKINDLE (Liam P.Jones, Placed First). The reason being, passing 200 metres, when he was passing REKINDLE, Jockey Liam P.Jones whipped him on his hand and in the process his filly shied away and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection and forfeit the deposit.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (TRANCE) reported loss of his whip near 300 metres. This being his third occasion of loss of whip, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, PHELPS was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern and AMISTAD had lost its right fore plate. ZAFIRAH was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(88) – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12

 

HIDDEN GOODNESS was observed to have left the paddock and proceeded to the Starting Gates without Blinkers, an equipment for the use of which prior permission was obtained. The Blinkers were applied on HIDDEN GOODNESS at the Starting Gates and the colt ran with the Blinkers.  Trainer S.S.Shah has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the above lapse.

 

At the start, FOLLOW ME (App.S.Mosin) jumped out awkwardly and was slow to begin. HIDDEN GOODNESS (P.Trevor, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly outwards and went on to RAKHSH (J.Pradeep, dr.7).

  

SEVEN SEAS (App.Prabhu Naidu) hung in throughout the race and at the start, shifted in and went on to AWESOME SMILE (V.Chandrakant), who in turn went in on to INTEQUAM (Ishwar Pardeshi). Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Near 200 metres, SEVEN SEAS (App Prabhu.Naidu) who hung inwards, shifted in as the Apprentice used the whip with the left hand and went on to BELLA FIGURA (Neeraj Rawal), who went on to RECKLESS ROMEO (Malcolm Kharadi) who was checked. Due to this interference, RAKHSH (J.Pradeep), who was following RECKLESS ROMEO, was hampered for a run. App.Prabhu Naidu has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

MAHIMA (D.K.Ashish) lugged-in in the final 200 metres. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, SEVEN SEAS was found to be sound. MASTEROFTHESKY had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.8(89) – THE NAKSHATRA INDIAN 2000 GUINEAS (GR.1): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 18

 

Near 700 metres, SUMO (C.S.Jodha) was tightened and lost position while racing on the inside of SHIVALIK HERO (Liam P.Jones).

 

AMAZING DESIRE (Suraj Narredu) ran erratic under pressure and was inclined to lug out and soon on entering the straight shifted out and hampered the running of HACHIKO (A.Sandesh), who went on to BLUE ACE (C.Rajendra), who in turn caused FRANKLIN (R.Hughes) to travel wide.

 

Jockey Liam P Jones (SHIVALIK HERO) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, SHIVALIK HERO was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore pastern. Also, the left hind plate was loose and the same was removed at the sampling yard. MACEDONIAN had a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel and ICE ZONE had a gum injury. MANYATTA was found to be sound.

 

HACHIKO (A.Sandesh) was placed fifth and FRANKLIN (R.Hughes) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.9(90) – THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

 

Near 200 metres, RIDING ONTHE STORM (C.Rajendra) shifted inwards and made contact with BLESSED (Kavraj Singh). Since the colt was reported to have broken a blood vessel and may have been in distress, no action has been initiated in the matter.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (WINDMILL LADY) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift ground outwards under the use of the whip passing 200 metres.

 

After the race, RIDING ONTHE STORM was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race FLASHFORWARD was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(91) – THE  G.ESSAJI TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8

 

After being stalled, VIVA ZAPATA (J.Pradeep) put its hinds on to the side platform of its stall. The gelding was taken out and in the process of being re-stalled the gelding played up and its head gear came off. Considering the behavior of the horse and to avoid any extra delay since all the horses were stalled, VIVA ZAPATA was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.  The gelding has to be given more gate practice and shown to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR BUILDER and WINSTON (examined on 24/12/2012) were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th race, viz. CENTRESTAGE, REKINDLE, MACHIAVELLIANISM and SHEER ROMANCE, as also that of SHIVALIK HERO, AN ACQUIRED TASTE and MANYATTA (8th race) and the special sample of ROMANTIC BEAUTY (2nd race), RIDING ONTHE STORM (9th race) and WINSTON (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.55 – THE NAUVKHAL PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 9TH DECEMBER, 2012 – JOCKEY DASHRATHSINGH,RIDER OF “GLORIOUS MISS” – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR CAUSING INTERFERENCE WHICH LED TO AN ACCIDENT:

 

After the start, GLORIOUS MISS (Dashrath Singh) gradually shifted in and approaching about 800 metres, tightened SHERLOCK HOLMES (App.Sandeep Jadhav, who in turn tightened DOUBLE DIAMOND (J.E.Pereira) who had to be checked due to lack of room between MZIMA (Neeraj Rawal) on the rails and SHERLOCK HOLMES (App.Sandeep Jadhav) on the outside and in doing so, the filly was unbalanced and in the process SHERLOCK HOLMES (App.Sandeep Jadhav) clipped the former and fell, dislodging the rider. As such the matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 23rd December, 2012 interviewed Jockey Dashrath Singh as also Jockey J.E.Pereira, rider of DOUBLE DIAMOND and having heard the submissions made and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Dashrath Singh with regard to his riding on GLORIOUS MISS which had caused an accident. However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for the charge of “dangerous riding” and held him guilty of careless riding. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 10th January, 2013 to 15th January, 2013 (both days inclusive) and to fine him a sum of Rs.40,000/-. Jockey Dashrath Singh was told that the Stewards had taken a very lenient view and he was warned to be more careful in the future.
