RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 1 METRE WIDE FROM 800 METRES TILL 400 METRES.
RACE NO.1 (241) THE PARTY WHIP PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 10
NURAI (C.S.Jodha) was slowly out, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter, at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
JALSA (App.A.Sandesh) lugged-in during the race and near 1100 metres shifted in and tightened SADDLERS RULE (D.S.Rathore) who lost position. JALSA lugged-in in the straight also. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. Nevertheless, App.A.Sandesh has been cautioned for making insufficient effort to control his mount.
Jockey S.Zervan (SPARKLER) has been cautioned for using his whip with excessive frequency without giving the horse time to respond.
Trainer Narendra Lagad was questioned regarding the comparative performance of REINSTATE which the filly won as compared to her earlier run in Race No 202 over an identical distance. The Trainer stated that he had given similar instructions in both the races, i.e. either to go to the front or sit back and not to cut pace with another horse, which App.P.Trevor could not follow and had cut pace with another horse and the filly had nothing left in her near 500 metres and fizzled out. He said that the common horse SADDLERS RULE may have performed poorly today. The earlier race was viewed. The explanation was noted since the horse was at longer odds and SADDLERS RULE had met with interference in this race.
After the race, NURAI was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.2 (242) THE CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 10
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that INSPIRED (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) hung out badly and behaved dangerously during the race and the Jockey had to pull up his mount and dismount near 200 metres, as such they recommended a Mock Race Ban for the horse.
The Stewards whilst considering the above report observed that INSPIRED was also reluctant on the way to the start and at the Starting Gates. Hence, it was decided to revoke the Starting Stall Certificate of the horse until the Starter is satisfied with the horse’s behavior and only thereafter the filly should be seen in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards.
At the start, SING MONEY SING (C.S.Jodha) and EMERALD QUEEN (S.Zervan) jumped out awkwardly.
Approaching 800 metres, CONZTANZA (D.A.Naik) shifted in due to which STAR SYMPHONY (C.Rajendra) shifted out and caused SWISS BELLE (N.S.Parmar) to shift out. who in turn caused OCEAN TERN (T.Mahesh) to shift out. As a result, OCEAN TERN (T.Mahesh) was awkwardly placed behind the heels of HOTTIE (Dashrath Singh) who itself had shifted in and was eased off. Jockeys D.A.Naik and Dashrath Singh have been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over their respective mount.
After the race, SWISS BELLE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, INSPIRED was found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (243) THE WHOPPER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 11
At the start, ALIYANA (A.Sandesh, dr.8) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and at the same time GAMBA (S.Sunil, dr.6) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside, due to which RED TABASCO (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) was tightened and in trying to regain his balance, shifted out and jostled with ALIYANA, turning the filly sideways. On questioning, App.A.Sandesh stated that the hind legs of his mount ALIYANA gave way and she was unbalanced and therefore jumped out awkwardly. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone. However, App.A.Sandesh (ALIYANA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.
At about 800 metres, HANNAH MONTANA (D.S.Rathore) shifted in and caused BLUSH (H.G.Rathod) to be steadied by its rider. Jockey D.S.Rathore has been cautioned.
An Objection was lodged by App.M.A.Roushan, the rider of NATIONAL IKON (placed 5th by the Judge) against Jockey Dashrath Singh, the rider of RED TABASCO (placed 4th) and against Jockey Shrikant Kamble, the rider of AFLATOON (placed 2nd). The reason being, that near 300 metres when he was beginning to make his move, Jockey Shrikant Kamble (AFLATOON) shifted out and Jockey Dashrath Singh (RED TABASCO) shifted in, due to which he received a bad check and his horse stumbled and he would have come down along with the horse and this broke his horse’s momentum which cost him a certain place. The Stewards after having heard the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards/Racing Advisor and relying on their own observation of the incidents, decided to overrule the Objection.
The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey Shrikant Kamble for careless riding on his mount AFLATOON and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him decided to suspend his Jockeys’ License w.e.f. 14th November 2010 (Permitted to ride Track work/ Mock race).
After the race, ALIYANA was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel and AFLATOON had an abrasion at the right hind pastern. RED TABASCO & NATIONAL IKON were found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 (244) THE DELHI RACE CLUB TROPHY: About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 4
Near 1000 metres, HARMONICA (App.A.Sandesh) who was ridden in check, shifted in and made contact with SEA RULER (App.P.Trevor).
Near 600 metres, SCHOLAR (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and forced SEA RULER (App.P.Trevor) to shift out, who in turn jostled with HARMONICA (App.A.Sandesh). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
After the race, SEA RULER and FOREVER YOUNG were found to be sound.
RACE NO 5. (245) THE PUNE CANTONMENT BOARD TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners - 5

RACE NO.6 (246) THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 12
VIBGYOR (F.Irani) jumped out awkwardly and tried to swerve to the outside. GRAND WARRIOR (App.M.A.Roushan) whipped around after jump out, both the horse took no practical part in the race. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give both the horses sufficient gate practice and thereafter show them to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.
After the race, STAR TRAINER was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race VIBGYOR, ABSOLUTE REALITY & SWEPT AWAY were found to be sound.
RACE NO.7 (247) THE IRISH BOSS PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres. Runners – 10
PERFECT STRENGTH (T.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
Near 600 metres, EYE OF THE STORM (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in and tightened PERFECT STRENGTH (T.S.Jodha). Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
App.P.Trevor (RAPIDE) reported loss of whip at about 200 metres from the winning post.
After the race, ARBUDH was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.8 (248) THE OXFORD PROPERTIES R.W.I.T.C.LTD. GOLD CUP (GRADE 2):
(About) 2000 Metres. Runners - 5
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A Sait, HUGO was examined at 1415 hours on 21/10/2010 and was found to have a deep cut bleeding injury on the right hind coronet, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the horse from the Club’s Sr.V.O before next accepting to race.
CABRIOLET (B.Prakash) was slowly out, losing about 6 lengths at the start. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter, at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, YOURE SO BEAUTIFUL was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore pastern and SANS PAREIL had an abrasion at the left hind bulb of heel. SPARK OF GOLD was found to be sound.
RACE NO.9 (249) THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 12
On the way to the start, ILLUSTRIOUS (Dashrath Singh) dropped the rider and bolted. At the request of the Trainer, the filly was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. On examination in the saddling area after the race, the filly was found to be sound, having an abrasion at the right flank area.
At the start, ALWAYS SMILE (D.S.Rathore, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly towards the outside and went on to CRÈME DE LA CRÈME (Shrikant Kamble, dr.11) who was tightened on to GLORIA (H.G. Rathod, dr.12).
DICTATOR (App.P.Trevor) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer N.B.Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, MACCHUPICCHU was found to be sore by the left fore leg and MOON FARER was found to be sore by the right fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, DICTATOR & FORWARD CHARGE were found to be sound.
RACE NO 10. (250) THE CLASSICAL ACT PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 11
HURRICANE BIRD (Neeraj Rawal) played up in the stall. The gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. and certified fit to race. Also, SIMPLE MAGIC (S.Sunil) and FOXTROT (R.Rupesh) were restless in the stall. Trainers Nana Raghunath, Faisal A.Abbas and Mansoor Shah have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter, at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey P.S.Chouhan (ASHWA PRERNA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.
Jockey N.S.Parmar (FLASHING SWORD) has been cautioned or shifting in before the Red Marker.
Approaching 200 metres, ASHWA PRERNA (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in and hampered the running of OCEAN FAIRY (T.Mahesh). Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned for failing to make sufficient effort to control his mount.
Jockey R.Rupesh (FOXTROT) lugged in and scrapped the rails at about 200 metres. Jockey Neeraj Rawal (HURRICANE BIRD) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainers Mansoor Shah and Nana Raghunath have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race.
Jockey Neeraj Rawal (HURRICANE BIRD) reported that the saddle on is mount slipped back at the jump out itself. Keeping in mind that the horse had played up before being loaded which may have had a bearing on the saddle getting loose and slipping back, no action was initiated in the matter.
After the race, ROYAL PRINCE & TUSCAN SUN were found to be sore by the right fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, HURRICANE BIRD was found to be sound, having an abrasion at the right stifle. FLASHING SWORD, FOXTROT, LAST TANGO & BOMBAY BOMBSHELL were found to be sound.
RACE NO.11 (251) THE WHOPPER PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 10
At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, SILVER SCREEN was examined at 0800 hours on 22/10/2010 and was found to have abscess on the lower jaw, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the horse from the Club’s Sr.V.O before next accepting to race.
After the race, PERPETUATION was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, DREAM TO LEAD was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th & 10th race viz. REINSTATE, STAR SYMPHONY, FOREVER YOUNG, CABRIOLET & ASHWA PRERNA, as also that of YOURE SO BEAUTIFUL & SANS PAREIL (8th race) and the special sample of NURAI (1st race) and PERPETUATION (11th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
