RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED  5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer P.Quinn, permission was granted to Trainer Sanjay Kolse to saddle his charge ANCIENT WONDER in the   4th race, at his (Trainer P.Quinn’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(281) – THE LONE STAR PLATE:(About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  8

 

Relying on a report from the Sr.VO, Trainer Magansingh P Jodha has been fined Rs 2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge ADAMS PRINCE. The gelding was declared to have Aluminum whereas on examination the gelding was found to have Aluminium, both hind high heels.

 

WIND AND RAIN (Prabhu Naidu) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. The Sr.V.O. reported that WIND AND RAIN was examined after the race and found to be sound but having wolf tooth on either side. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (CARTEL) reported that his mount was uncomfortable in the early part of the race. Sr. VO was requested to examine the filly and he reported that  no abnormality was detected.

 

After the race, WIND AND RAIN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WALK OF LIFE, RUN LIKE THE WIND and MINSTREL SON were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(282) –THE  K.M.MUNSHI TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners – 5  

 

At the start, BRINDABAN (A.Sandesh, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with GANGNAM STYLE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.3) who was steadied.

 

After the race, GANGNAM STYLE was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, INTESAR was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SO TRUE was found to be sound;

 

RACE NO.3(283)– THE  OSMAN CHOTANI PLATE:(About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 11

 

Trainer  H.J.Antia has been fined Rs 2,000/- for bringing his charge FAJR late into the Parade Ring which delayed the departure of his other two horses to the Starting Gates. FAJR was brought into the Parade Ring when the horses were leaving for the start.

 

Soon after the start, DOUBLE DIAMOND (B.Nikhil) shifted-in and went on to STARRIANO (Vikram Walkar), who in turn jostled with GOOD MEMORY (P.Trevor). Jockey B.Nikhil has been fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort to control the inward movement of his mount.

 

Shortly after the start, FAJR (Dashrath Singh) shifted-in and caused interference to RAJASTHAN GLORY (Sandeep Jadhav) who had to check his mount and dropped back and went on to STARRIANO (Vikram Walkar) who was checked. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs 5,000/-.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (CAPTAIN SMART, dr.11) has been cautioned for shifting in after the start.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (FAJR) reported the loss of whip near 100 metres. This being the third occasion of Jockey Dashrath Singh losing the whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs 5,000/-.

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (HIGHWAY EXPRESS) reported loss of whip near 400 metres. This being the second occasion of Jockey Shrikant Kamble losing the whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

After the race, ACE OF HEART and RISING ANGEL were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GOLDEN SPURS, DOUBLE DIAMOND, SEEN IT ALL, RISING ANGEL and CAPTAIN SMART were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(284) – THE R.M. & RUKMANI GOCULDAS MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

 

After the race, ANCIENT WONDER and STAR TRAINER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(285) – THE FORBES INDIA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

 

PRETTY IN PATPONG (Hanumant Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. After being stalled, RASHUN (C.S.Jodha) was restless and lashed out in the stall. Trainers H.J.Antia and Himmat Singh have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ANGEL IN THE SKY (Y.S.Srinath) fly-jumped and landed awkwardly and thereby was slow to begin.

 

AFRICANA (A.Ashhad Asbar) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Y.S.Srinath (ANGEL IN THE SKY) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race NICANOR was pulled up by the Jockey. On examination, the mare was observed to have suffered clip injury at the left hind tendon area. First aid treatment was given and the mare was sent to the Equine Hospital for further management. The trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, AFRICANA was pulled up by the Jockey and walked to the saddling enclosure. On examination, the gelding was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ANGEL IN THE SKY was found to be sound, but having a broken tooth at the lower jaw. STAR ZONE and MONTERAY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(286) – THE  WESTERN INDIA BOOKMAKERS’ ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 13 

 

ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh) stumbled at the start.  

 

At the stat, STILETTO (A.Sandesh, 10) had its ground taken as QUEST FOR LOVE (Dashrath Singh, dr.11) shifted inwards and ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh, dr.9) shifted out as the gelding stumbled.

 

At the start, ZIDAAN (Deep Shanker, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to FIRE ENGINE (S.Sunil, dr.6).      

 

Jockey J.Pradeep (DREAMLINER, dr.13) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting-in before the red-marker and in the process going across the entire field on his inside.

 

Passing 1200 metres, FIRE ENGINE (S.Sunil) was inconvenienced as ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh) shifted inwards.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, FIRE ENGINE (S.Sunil) ducked in and made contact with ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh).

 

Near 300 metres, ICE ZONE (Akash Agarwal) shifted-in and carried QUEST FOR LOVE (Dashrath Singh) inwards, who in turn caused interference to DREAMLINER (J.Pradeep). Jockey Akash Agarwal has been fined Rs 2,000/-.

 

Near 100 metres, FORTUNE HUNTER (S.Mosin) shifted inwards and carried STILETTO (A.Sandesh) inwards.

 

After the race, HAWKER was observed to have a cut injury at the right elbow.

 

RACE NO.7(287) – THE FORBES INDIA TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10

 

GATES OF HEAVEN (D.A.Naik) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head and veered towards the outside and took no practical part in the race. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

Near 900 metres, TALK OF THE TOWN (Prabhu Naidu) was unbalanced and in distress. The gelding was pulled up near 600 metres and stopped galloping and fell. On examination, the gelding was observed to have broken a blood vessel and had swelling on the right shoulder area. The gelding was unable to take weight on both hind. TALK OF THE TOWN was euthanized on the track on humane grounds after the Trainer’s consent.

 

ADVANCE TO CONTACT (Dharmendar) was inclined to lug-in in the straight and passing 200 metres, the gelding shifted-in on to SUN HOT (P.Trevor), who in turn shifted-in and hampered the running of RECKLESS (A.Sandesh). Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, SUN HOT was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FLYING EAGLE, ADVANCE TO CONTACT, SAMAY BALWAN and SPEED BABY (examined on 24/03/2014), were found to be sound. 

 

RACE NO.8(288) – THE  BUSY LIZZIE TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 11

 

ZAMBEZI (D.K.Ashish) lost 3 lengths at the start.

 

PRESIDENTIAL (N.S.Parmar) hung-out badly from the 1600 metres and joined field near 1200 metres. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Near 400 metres, SHINING PATH (A.Sandesh) lugged out and carried DANSE DEBONAIRE (B.Nikhil) outwards. Further, SHINING PATH hung-out in the straight. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of DANSE DEBONAIRE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, SHINING PATH, PRESIDENTIAL, ALLEGIANCE and ARZAAN were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th race, viz. DOUBLE OR QUITS, SUPREME STAR, VICTORIA FALLS and ADVANCE TO CONTACT, as also that of SILVER STREAK, RAJASTHAN ROYALS and WINSTON (4th race), and the special sample of GANGNAM STYLE (2nd race), RISING ANGEL (3rd race) and SUN HOT & GATES OF HEAVEN (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
